As we say in our ads, we will refundthe deposit if you are unhappy when you arrive. We stick to it. Note to bidders. Ask any questions if you have them, with the exception of how much does it cost, don't assume anything. I will do my best to describe it herein words and with pictures. So with that said let's have an auction.

Up for auction is 1972 Chevy Chevelle Convertible. Car had an electrical fire and is being sold as-is. We purchased it in this condition. We have no real history or documentation on the car.  Front to back. Front bumper is still nice with good chrome. Grill and headlamp valences are damaged. Hood is buckled and has a few pick holes in it. Inner and outer fenders are still in good condition despite the burn. The front windshield is cracked. The engine vin pad matches the cowl vin. The engine turns by hand but most of all the accesories on it and under the hood were ruined. That includes wiring that would have gone into the dashboard and along the firewall. Inside the car. The dash pad has heat damage, the gauges are blackened along with the radio and the heater controls. In my best opinion it needs a gauge cluster, radio, heat controls, dash pad and wiring harness. The main parts to the dash look good. I think the wires got hot and melted the cluster. The seats and carpets are in great shape as well as the top. They all look almost new. Inside does not have a smokey fire smell, it's has that burnt wire smell. The only damage inside is in and under the dash. Doors and quarters are solid, ( see pic of left quarter slight damage),  trunk compartment is nicely detailed. The floors, frame and underside look great. This is the perfect car to put some labor into, the hard work has been done already.

I ran the vin on the internet and come up with a video from the dealer when it was restored and sold last time.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-P3YUOrsN4

Bid accordingly, We are not experts on these cars and can make no claim of the originality of the car or it's documentation. Car has a clear title, and is being sold by an Illinois Dealer AS-IS and milage exempt. Illionis residents must and will pay state sales tax and title fee upon delivery.

GM is the latest automaker accused of diesel emissions cheating

Thu, May 25 2017

Volkswagen and Ram need to make room on the diesel-emissions bench for General Motors. America's largest automaker was accused in a lawsuit on Thursday of rigging hundreds of thousands of diesel trucks with at least three so-called defeat devices to ensure that the trucks would meet federal and state emission standards, even if they generated more pollution in real-world driving. According to the complaint, on-road emissions testing conducted for the plaintiffs found that Duramax-equipped trucks produced NOx pollutants, comprised of nitrogen and oxygen atoms, two to five times higher than legally permitted, and "many times" higher than their gasoline counterparts. The proposed class-action lawsuit was filed in federal court in Detroit on behalf of people who own or lease more than 705,000 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks fitted with "Duramax" engines from 2011 to 2016 model years. The lawsuit seeks remedies including possible refunds or restitution for lost vehicle value, plus punitive damages. It adds to legal problems for Detroit-based GM, which has already paid about $2.5 billion in penalties and settlements over faulty ignition switches linked to 124 deaths. GM joins at least five automakers whose diesel emissions have been scrutinized by regulators or consumers. They include VW, which has admitted to cheating; Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler; Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Peugeot and Renault. GM spokesman Dan Flores called the claims "baseless," and said the trucks comply with US Environmental Protection Agency emissions standards and California's own tough standards. Shares of GM were down 69 cents, or 2.1 percent, at $32.50 in afternoon trading, after earlier falling to $31.93. The GM lawsuit was filed by several law firms, including Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro, which helped reach multibillion-dollar settlements with VW on behalf of drivers and dealers. The case is Fenner et al v General Motors LLC et al, US District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, No. 17-11661. The named plaintiffs are Andrei Fenner of Mountain View, California and Joshua Herman of Sulphur, Louisiana. They said they would not have bought their respective 2011 Sierra and 2016 Silverado trucks, or would have paid less for them, had they known about the alleged rigging. Joseph Spak, an RBC Capital Markets analyst, in a research report said "negative publicity" from the lawsuit could drive buyers to trucks from Ford or even Fiat Chrysler's Ram.

Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head

Mon, Dec 29 2014

Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.
