This is an excellent project car that unfortunately I do not have time to complete. Classic Chevy muscle car ready for a new home.

Suspension/Engine/Transmission:

Car has many upgrades to the suspension; I was aiming to complete the Chevelle in a Pro touring style. The car features Hotchkis suspension package with Eibach springs, Jegs 12 bolt, 3.73 posi rear end. Crate small block Chevy 350 with Edelbrock 64cc heads, Edelbrock Super Victor manifold, 700R4 transmission, Holley carburetor. Both engine and transmission have less than 2,000 miles and were removed from a Monte Carlo. New brakes with disc brake upgrade, new tires/wheels. New brake master cylinder also is included.

Body/Frame/Glass:

Car features a completely refurbished frame. Also, I have purchased a complete stainless hardware kit for the car which is included. The body was removed and the frame was blasted, repaired, laser aligned and repainted. All glass is original with the exception of the rear window which was purchased new. Both fenders are new and installed on car; wheel wells are included. Driver door is original and is in good condition and I purchased a new passenger door (hinges for both have been rebuilt and installed). Car comes with brand new front and rear bumpers and also a new fiberglass cowl style hood (with correct hood springs installed). I also have a new trunk lid that is on the car currently. I will note that there is corrosion on the body, specifically on the front windshield sill, and quarter panels that will need to be tended to (see pictures) however the car is originally a Tennessee car and is in good condition otherwise. The floor pan has very minor corrosion with a few small holes. I have patch panels I purchased which come with the car. The trunk pan has already been entirely replaced. The front clip is entirely new/refurbished with an aluminum radiator, and all other parts blasted and repainted. I also have a new gas tank. If you have any questions about the condition of the body or any other part of this car, please don't hesitate to ask!

Various:

I have many, many extra parts for this car. At least two complete air conditioning units with associated vacuum hoses, at least three gauge clusters, two sets of front light buckets, all the chrome needed for the front lights and various chrome trim pieces from the original car.

As shown above, the Chevelle has many upgrades and is very close to being a fast, road ready cruiser. The car only needs grille, body work, various interior/trim parts, and some time to bring this Chevelle to showroom condition. I have well over the listed price into this car but am looking to clear out the garage for summer. Please feel free to give me reasonable offers.

If you have any questions at all about the car or would like additional pictures of any portion of the car in particular, please just ask! Buyer assumes responsibility for pickup or delivery.

Watch a camo'ed next-gen Chevy Volt go ice driving

Tue, Dec 23 2014

Teasers for the 2016 Chevy Volt continue, The Bowtie showing us in this latest outing how its range-extended hybrid dances on ice and snow. It will only take 42 seconds of your life so don't expect an Arctic challenge, but if you in the snow regions had any doubts about how it will handle the frozen goods, this should help assuage them. The bigger and better, more powerful and faster Volt - able to run regular fuel - will get out from under its camo at the North American International Auto Show next month. For now, enjoy the way it moves its hips in the video above. News Source: Chevrolet via YouTube, Facebook Detroit Auto Show Chevrolet Videos

We really want to use an eCrate to restomod an old GM car. Here's what we'd build

Fri, Oct 30 2020

You hopefully saw the news today of GM's introduction of its Connect and Cruise eCrate motor and battery package, which effectively makes the Bolt's electric motor, battery pack and myriad other elements available to, ah, bolt into a different vehicle. It's the same concept as installing a gasoline-powered crate motor into a classic car, but with electricity and stuff.  This, of course, got us thinking about what we'd stuff the eCrate into. Before we got too ahead of ourselves, however, we discovered that the eCrate battery pack is literally the Bolt EV pack in not only capacity but size and shape. In other words, you need to have enough space in the vehicle to place and/or stuff roughly 60% of a Chevy Bolt's length. It's not a big car, but that's still an awful lot of real estate. There's a reason GM chose to simply plop the pack into the bed and cargo area of old full-size SUVs. Well that, and having a rear suspension beefy enough to handle about 1,000 pounds of batteries.  So after that buzz kill, we still wanted to peruse the GM back catalog for classics we'd love to see transformed into an electric restomod that might be able to swallow all that battery ... maybe ... possibly ... whatever, saws and blow torches exist for a reason.  1971 Buick Riviera Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski: If you’re going to build an electric conversion, why not do it with style? ThatÂ’s why IÂ’m choosing a 1971-1973 Buick Riviera. You know, the one with the big glass boat-tail rear end that ends in a pointy V. Being a rather large vehicle with a big sloping fastback shape, IÂ’m hoping thereÂ’s enough room in the trunk and back seat to pack in the requisite battery pack. That would likely require cutting away some of the metal bulkhead that supports the rear seatback, but not so much that a wee bit of structural bracing couldnÂ’t shore things up. The big 455-cubic-inch Buick V8 up front will obviously have to go. Remember, this was the 1970s, so despite all that displacement, the Riviera only had around 250 horsepower (depending on the year and the trim level). So the electric motorÂ’s 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque ought to work as an acceptable replacement.   1982 Chevrolet S10 Associate Editor Byron Hurd: OK, so the name "E-10" is already taken by a completely different truck, but let's not let labels get in the way of a fun idea.

2.0-liter turbo four reportedly returning to Chevrolet Equinox line-up for 2022

Fri, Oct 2 2020

Chevrolet's popular Equinox crossover will enter the 2021 model year with comprehensive updates and a turbocharged, 1.5-liter four-cylinder as its only available engine. The 2.0-liter turbo four offered through 2020 is allegedly leaving the line-up, but it will be replaced for 2022 with a newer engine that produces slightly less power while returning better fuel economy, according to a recent report. Called LSY internally, the new 2.0-liter turbo four already powers the Cadillac XT4, among other models in the General Motors portfolio. Enthusiast website GM Authority learned it will deliver 237 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm. For context, the 2.0-liter available through 2020 (known as LTG) made 252 horses and 260 pound-feet of twist, and the 1.5-liter posts figures of 170 and 203, respectively. As a trade-off for the slight drop in horsepower and torque, the LSY is smoother, quieter and cleaner than the LTG it replaces. Transmission options remain unconfirmed, but the four-cylinder will likely shift through a nine-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive will come standard, and all-wheel drive will be offered at an extra cost. Chevrolet hasn't commented on the report; it hasn't even confirmed the Equinox is losing the LTG engine for 2021. If the rumor is accurate, details about the 2022 Equinox should be released during the first half of 2021. GM Authority added the GMC Terrain, which is closely related to the Equinox, will receive the new engine for 2022 as well. Both should have gotten it for 2021, but the on-going global pandemic delayed its launch. Related Video:
