You are bidding on a 1972 chevelle ss 396. Car is a real ss "U" code car. This car have very few flaws and will describe it the best as I can.  The engine is a date correct 396, engine starts up and runs great. Idles perfect at stop lights. Fuel pump has started to leak and can easily be replaced. The transmission is a smooth shifting 4 speed Muncie. It is very fun to drive with the manual in it. The clutch has a good tight feel to it with no slipping. Rear end is a 12 bolt posi traction in the rear end. I believe the gears are 3.55 ratio but don't know for sure. Power Steering has a tight feel, as long as the power brakes have good stopping power. Outside of the car is in good shape with very minor paint imperfections. Body is very straight with good fit on all the body pannels. No paint bubbles or rust on the body. White stripes done right with clear coating over the top. Stripes look good and straight. Chrome on the car still shines good and is in good shape. Interior has new upholstery on the seats and new carpet in it. I feel like it is the best part of the car. No cracks in the dash, with I believe is the original ss gauges. All are currently in working order. The radio does work but seems to have a bad connection to the antenna. All you hear Is a screeching sound coming throught the speakers. It seems to be and easy fix, I just haven't had time to go through it and see exactly what the problem is. Wheels are the ss wheels with the tires having most of the tred left. For a better description of the car please come and view it your self. I would rather have the person who buys the car know exactly what they are getting. If you are unable to view the car in person I will do my best to send you any of the photos you would like to see of the car. This car gets looks everywhere so be prepared for the attention you will get in it. I still enjoy this car and wish I didn't have to sell it but I am building a new home and could use the cash. Any questions call mike 402-910-2392. Please leave message if I don't answer.

Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.
