1969 Chevelle SS 396 Two Door Hardtop. Factory Hugger Orange, with white accent stripe. This is a solid car, needing full restoration. It was taken apart several years ago, and has been sitting this way ever since. It still retains its factory power disc brakes, along with original 12 bolt rear-end, (3:31 Posi). It is a factory air car, but the outer box has been eliminated.

The sheetmetal includes very good doors, Super Sport hood, and decklid. The trunk floor is solid, without issues. The areas that need repair are the upper portion of the dash, beneath the windshield, and the drivers floorboard footwell needs to be patched. It does NOT need floors, the rest of the areas are fine. Quarters have been replaced.

The car is optioned with black bucket seat interior. Everything is intact except the radio. The dash is nice, and uncut. All date correct seat belts are intact.

It has 15" x 7" rally wheels in the front, and 15" x 8" in the rear.

The windshield is new, but just sitting in place. The rest of the glass is very nice, factory tinted glass.

I have a 70's 454, complete that runs well, along with a  turbo 400 automatic transmission, both are completely stock.

Both are being offered separately from the car, or a package deal can be made.

The original 396, I never received.

All suspension components were sand blasted, both front and rear, and new Moog bushings/ball joints were installed.

Both bumpers, and all brackets are included, though not shown.

The car will needs a drivers side inner front inner fenderwell.

This is a very good project. It still wears most of its original paint, so, not to hide surprises. Hard to find a True SS, with good options, and a great color combo.

I have several pictures, but can  take more if you would like to see a specific area.

This car is being offered locally, and could end without notice.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call.

Delivery available within 300 miles of St. Louis, MO. for a fee.

Thanks!

-Mike

Pushing Back: GM expanding Chevrolet into Korea, Daewoo out

Thu, 29 Apr 2010

Chevrolet Camaro goes to South Korea - Click above for high-res image
General Motors decided several years ago to begin heavily promoting Chevrolet as its global mainstream brand even in markets where its existing brands like Opel and Daewoo were a dominant force. Today, at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea, GM Daewoo president Mike Arcamone announced that the Camaro would lead the way in GM's efforts to market Chevrolet in South Korea.
For now at least Chevrolet and Daewoo-branded vehicles will coexist in the Korean market. However, while we were in China last week GM officials told us that the Daewoo brand, which has been somewhat tainted by past quality issues, would eventually be phased out in favor of Chevrolet. When the new Aveo launches next year it will likely be badged as a Chevrolet even though GM Daewoo is in charge of engineering the car.

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
