Harleysville, Pennsylvania, United States

Up for sale is a 1967 chevelle SS timecapsule.  This is a REAL DEAL SS, that is numbers matching.  YES, it's an automatic, column bench seat!!  THIS CAR IS RARE, less than 8% of chevelle SS were of these type.  The car has never been fully restored and only preserved and all it's original parts will go with the new owner.  This chevelle has never been repainted, and the motor/trans has never been out of the car.  It still retains its original motor parts, fan, exhaust manifolds, power steering pump, and Yes, Harrison radiator, SS hubcaps and wheels ect ect....   The car fully runs and drives and stops nicely, everything works as it should, doors and hood shut like a dream, very nice body lines and best of all is road worthy for the enthusiast who wants to drive while restoring!  Powered by a 396 325hp BB that is all original and has a 2sp powerglide Tranny.  Bumpers were painted to preserve the chrome and not pitted, stainless is near perfect on the car inside and out, We have the original wheels, Glass is nice and not sratched up, AM radio still works, windows all roll up and down as they should, 12 bolt posi that hooks up, Floors are solid, trunk is good, car does have some small rust issues, (see pictures). All lights and directions, and cigarette lighter works!  PICTURES DON't DO JUSTICE.   Video is older and from the past winter, early spring but the pictures on here are within the last month.  NOTICE how much better everything looks after a little care for the interior and trim, trunk ect,ect from this past winter!   You could own this gem.

Recently the interior was freshened up with all new seat covers, carpet, divider board/insulation, jute, brake and gas pedal, horn button, dome light/bezel, armrest pads, bases, and ash tray, headliner goes with the car.  Like I said, all the original stuff that was taken out of the interior goes with the car (carpet and all).

For all of the people interested, dealers, ect.  MECUM is coming up this week.  We are only a short drive away, less than 2 hours from Harrisburg PA.   This is a great car and deserves to be totally restored to the nut and bolt.   We have the broadcast sheet, and some documentation.  Build sheet has yet to be found, mostly likely is still in the car as we haven't ripped the car apart to search.

No trades at all.  Other pictures upon request.

Good luck.

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
