Hello Ebayers...today I'm selling a friend's baby.  He's not a big ebay-er and i've been enthusiastically selling and buying cars on ebay for 15 years so the "pleasure" becomes mine (kinda like being the IT person for your family...something you just gotta do) to help him out.  This car is fantastic is really all I need to say....i'm shocked he's selling it but nevertheless here it is.  I'll be sure to plug him in to answer any questions you might have.  The photos say it all...he's kept everything intact, original and only obsessive people keep all the original window stickers and such...everything he's accumulated during his 10 year love affair with this beast...can now be yours.  He's uploaded a ton of photos which you can check out on his PHOTOBUCKET page!  It's worth noting that in spite these great photos the car is indeed imperfect.  You can see the flaws in the photos on the photobucket page but in summary there are 2 imperfections. There is a tear in a seam on the driver's seat (check the photos) and there's some paint scratches along below the door which i never noticed until i saw these photos. It's something that may or may not be something you can even buff out but also may require some paint surgery....like i said it's not something i ever noticed during moments of admiration for this beast.

Don't listen to me...here's his story:

Today I am selling my 2002 35th Anniversary Chevrolet Camaro SS.  I purchased this car with my father back in '02. We bought it for cash right off the lot, and I've been the only owner since.  The car is a beautiful beast, and has treated me so well over the years. I drove it out to Los Angeles, CA in 2003 and it has been nothing but a reliable, fun, solid daily driver for over a decade.

I am putting the car up for auction, because my ever expanding family is beginning to call for more space.  I suppose there comes a time in every man's life when he must trade in his powerful american muscle for a spacious and tamed wagon.  I have had many wonderful years with this car, and now I have an opportunity to pass it along so that someone else may enjoy it for many more years to come.

The car just turned 64,000 miles. Pretty low for a 2002.  The car is in great shape, inside and out.  A few minor marks (accurately represented in the photos) but overall, an incredibly clean car.  I have taken great care of this SS, and I think it shows.  I have all of the original literature on the car, including the sticker and "birth certificate" issued by Chevy Motors.  Brand new tires on the car with less than 300 miles on the tread.  Full SLP package installed by the dealer upon purchase. Chrome wheels, and all the bells and whistles offered at the time by the dealer.

I hate to see it go, but I'm happy to give someone else the chance to enjoy this car like I have for so many years.  Good luck bidding, and happy new year!

hit me with any questions and thanks for looking.

2020 Chevy Corvette Stingray vs the world: How it compares on paper

Mon, Jul 22 2019

The 2020 Chevy Corvette Stingray in its base form offers an astonishing amount of performance for the money. In fact, so impressive is the car's spec sheet that the Corvette kind of exists in two different competitive sets: one of cars priced similarly, and another with cars of similar performance and reputation. To get a feel for how it handles each of these segments, we've compiled specifications for those two sets of players. You can find the first set below, which looks at cars of roughly the same price point. Following that is a bit of analysis, and then there's a chart of cars with similar performance and reputation. And that chart will also have some analysis. Though final pricing for the Corvette hasn't been announced yet, we know the Corvette will start at less than $60,000. And as far as pricing goes, its closest competitor is the Porsche 718 Cayman, which also starts at just under $60,000. Both are mid-engined and rear-drive, but the Corvette offers an extra 195 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. The Cayman does boast a curb weight of right around 3,000 pounds, so it weighs a few hundred pounds less than the Corvette, but it's likely not enough to make up for the power deficit. The Corvette's sub-3.0-second 0-60 time bears this out against the Cayman's best 4.5-second run. Impressively, though, the Cayman has more cargo space than the Corvette in a package that's nearly 10 inches shorter. The Cayman also still offers a manual option for those that prefer self-shifting. The 2020 Toyota Supra is on the cheap end of this sports car class, just crossing $50,000. It also boasts more power than the Cayman, though it's still down by 160 ponies and 105 pound-feet of torque to the C8. It's also about as roomy as the Corvette, despite being about the same size as the Cayman. Cargo space is a bit tighter. Its driving characteristics will likely differ, too as the Supra sits on a front-engine platform. It might even feel closer to a C7 Corvette in some ways. The other mid-engine entry in this price range is the 2019 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider. Its small 1.7-liter turbo inline-4 only makes 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, but it's also far and away the lightest of this group at 2,487 pounds. That's roughly 1,000 pounds lighter than the Corvette. It isn't as fast as the Corvette in a straight line, but that lightness surely pays dividends in cornering and braking.

GM Recalling 370,000 Trucks For Fire Risk

Mon, Jan 13 2014

DETROIT (AP) - General Motors is recalling 370,000 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups from the 2014 model year to fix software that could cause the exhaust components to overheat and start a fire. The recall includes 303,000 trucks in the U.S. and 67,000 in Canada and Mexico. All of the trucks involved have 4.3-liter or 5.3-liter engines. GM said eight fires have been reported, but no injuries. One garage was damaged, the company said. All of the incidents occurred in cold weather. The company is asking customers not to leave their trucks idling unattended. GM dealers will reprogram the software for free. The company will inform owners starting Jan. 16. The major recall announcement, which came on Saturday, marred the Silverado's winning of the 2014 North American Truck of the Year Award at the Detroit Auto Show on Monday. Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R named Road & Track Performance Car of the Year

Mon, Nov 9 2015

With a 526-horsepower, 5.2-liter V8 that roars to 8,250 rpm, it's really hard to consider the 2016 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R an underdog in any fight. However, the Shelby held the lowest as-tested price and was only middle of the pack in terms of power in Road & Track's 2016 Performance Car of the Year challenge. The 'Stang's numbers clearly didn't tell the whole story about the potent coupe because Ford's muscle car grabbed the title in this year's test. A model needs to be new or significantly updated to be eligible for the honor, and R&T found an impressive slate of eight candidates this year. The challengers included the Bentley Continental GT3-R, Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper ACR, Mercedes-AMG GT S, and Porsche Cayman GT4. The Ferrari 488 GTB was the most expensive of the bunch with an as-tested price of $347,942, which is five times more than the Shelby. Once the group was together, R&T hustled them over curving roads and on the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park. There was a lot to love about the Shelby, even in this impressive crew. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," editor-in-chief Larry Webster said in the announcement of the results. The GT350R joins some great company. Past winners include the Porsche 911 GT3 last year and the Corvette in 2013. For some fantastic photography and the complete appraisal of these performance machines check out R&T's website for the full story. The article appears in the December/January issue, on newsstands November 17, and on RoadandTrack.com. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," said Larry Webster, editor-in-chief of Road & Track. "Not only does the car have soul and harness so much firepower with such ease, but the real achievement here is that it's so approachable. It's a car you can't help but love." The Mustang Shelby GT350R was the winner by a runaway vote.
