1993 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Coupe 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars

1993 Z28 Camaro. This was a perfectly good running car until I bought a new truck. Let me explain! I stopped using it every day and about a week after getting my truck I went to move it and it didn't start or crank over for that matter. It turned out rodents ate some of the little wires off the sensors, etc. Eventually they feasted on a lot of them. I haven't started the car since. That was about 2002. It has the 5.7 liter 350 engine with the 700R4 Automatic Transmission. I always changed the oil every 3000 miles and took really good care of it. It never burned oil or leaked any fluids. The drivetrain alone is valuable but a visit to a wrecking yard for some wiring harness may be all it needs to get it on the road again. The '93 is the first year of the generation 4 Camaro. It was also the very first one to arrive in San Diego County when I bought it so I believe it may be an early production number if anyone is interested in that stuff. Also, it has never had any body work done on it.
Some low life decided that the new $1000 worth tires needed knife holes in the sidewalls so I am lowering the asking price. |

Chevy Trax engineer says GMC version possible
Mon, Dec 8 2014The Buick Encore is doing so well and its platform-mate the Chevrolet Trax has such good reviewer vibes going for it already, that a GMC version hasn't been ruled out. During the recent press launch, Automotive News asked lead engineer Al Manzor if the Trax could wear a GMC-branded suit, to which Manzor replied, "I think that is certainly possible." That's a long way from telling us anything about the probability of a GMC version of the Trax, and a legion of questions would need to be answered before it could happen. How would a GMC version be priced to leave room for the $26,465 GMC Terrain but not eat into sales of the $20,995 Trax or the $24,035 Encore? Or would that matter? Could it primarily be considered to encourage a new faction of The Yukon Set at the compact end, GMC buyers being famously committed to the marque? And of course, would there be a Denali version? It'll probably be a long while before we have any kind of answers, but if you want to see it happen, the door to your campaign of persuasion is at least ajar.

Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
