It is time for my 1986 IROC Camaro to find a new home. I just don’t have the time to devote to this project anymore. I am selling this as a project car since it is missing the headliner, carpet, and is being sold with a ton of extra 3rd gen Camaro parts.

Here is a little about the car. I have owned this car for a little over two years and it has always been kept in the garage. The car has a clean and clear title which I have in my possession and it runs and drives. For the most part it is completely stock, but does have an Edelbrock 4-bbl carb and matching air cleaner. Since I only drive it every once in a while it does run a little rough when you first start it but evens out once it’s driven.

I started sanding the body and putting on primer where needed, but haven’t used any body filler at all. There is rust in the usual places around the rear quarters and in the spare tire area, but it can all easily be fixed. The floor pans are solid, as is the trunk area. The dash is cracked and the driver’s seat is worn on the outer edge. The interior is currently out of the car and will go with the car when it is sold. All of the hardware is labeled in Ziploc bags and has all been stored inside.

Here is what comes with the car:
-305ci 4-bbl. V8 with Edlebrock air cleaner
-700R4 overdrive automatic transmission with shift kit
-Power locks, windows, mirrors, Driver’s seat, and rear hatch closure which all work great
-Lockable t-tops with storage bag
-Tinted windows and hatch
-Matching set (front/rear) of 16” gold IROC rims with Kumo P245/50R16 tires in good condition.
-All of the matching carpeted tan interior plastics, front & rear seats, retracting rear cover, and fully functioning center console.

What is missing from the car:
-“IROC” center cap buttons
-Passenger and cargo area carpet (it was in horrible condition)
-Headliner

Everything else that I have for the car:
-A second set of Front bucket seats with power driver’s to repair the bad foam in the upper part of the driver’s seat that is in the car currently.
-New brake lines for the front of the car.
-New emergency brake cables
-New rear calipers, brake pads, and dust shields
-New braided G-stop 12251 brake like kit
-New master cylinder and a good proportioning valve.
-New front and rear drilled and slotted rotors
-An original complete 3rd gen camaro disc brake rear end with camaro rims. (I don’t know what gear ratio it is though)
-Brand new Accel HEI distributor w/ Accel super coil
-Front nose piece / bumper
-Gray console complete with top, lid, and HVAC controls
-Extra set of rear factory springs
-Misc assorted fasteners from other camaros I have salvaged parts from

If you are local (Lincoln, NE. area) and want to come and see it run, have any questions, or want some specific pics of anything don’t hesitate to ask. I have pics of the majority of the parts, but some of the stuff I just haven’t gotten around to. I would advise bringing a trailer to get the car and related parts home just to be on the safe side.

GM will recall more than 3.3 million vehicles in China for suspension defect

Sat, Sep 29 2018

BEIJING (Reuters) - General Motors' joint venture in China, Shanghai GM, will recall more than 3.3 million Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac vehicles stating Oct. 20 because of a defect with the suspension system, China's market regulator said on Saturday. GM Shanghai said in a text message to Reuters that the suspension arm may be deformed under extreme operating conditions, but there are no known casualties related to the issue. The recall includes cars produced between 2013 and 2018, the State Administration for Market Regulation said in a statement. GM will contact those affected and repair the vehicles free of charge, it said. A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
