1987 Chevy 3500 Crew Cab Dually One Ton No Reserve on 2040-cars
Sheboygan, Wisconsin, United States
You are looking at a 1987 chevy r30 one ton crew cab 2 wheel drive pickup, with an 8 ft box. This truck is being offered at a no reserve auction, and will sell to the highest bidder. FIRST OFF LET ME START WITH THAT I AM NOT INTERESTED IN MAKING ANY TRADES, NOR WILL I WORK TO MAKE A DEAL OUTSIDE OF THIS LISTING. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE TRUCK, YOU WILL NEED TO BID ON IT.
Now as for the truck, it is in very nice shape for an 87. There is little to know rust. The truck is in flat black primer. There are a few parts missing, there is no tailgate, that is why it has the net on back, one of the fuel doors is missing, but does not affect the gas tank. The truck previously had ac, but some of the parts are missing. i never needed it, so i didnt bother to fix it. It is equiped with dual fuel tanks, but the one on the drivers side has a leak. I replaced the passenger side tank and sender, but was never able to get around to changing the other one. The splitter works great, and so does the pump and sender, just needs a new tank. The truck has a lot of aftermarket parts on it, as can be seen in the pics. tail lights, larger style tow mirrors, brush guard, etc. The brakes in the truck are all new. The rear axle is a dana 80 rear end, but im not sure of the gear ratio. The front tires are in good shape, probably 75% tread, and the rear tires are new. Truck has power windows, and power locks. All windows work. Has tilt wheel, a cd player, which is not currently hooked up. Truck has dual batteries also. Now for the drive train. The engine is a 454 tbi big block, that has around 45,000 on it. The truck itself has over 118,000 o it. Transmission is a turbo 400. This truck has tons of power and will pull anything. The 454 has new plugs and wires, has had protions of the emissions equipment removed, has a larger cam, headers that run into 3 inch dual exhaust with glasspack mufflers, and exit out the back. The truck is quiet at idle, but it is pretty loud if you get on it. The interior is in decent shape, The truck was a conversion truck when it was new, so it has woodgrain trim, really nice bucket seats. The is a sunpro tach that works great, all the guages work, has a trailer brake controller that works great, truck has atleast a class 3 hitch, not sure but could be higher class. The only thing that is not included in the sale of the truck is the cb radio and the antennas. everything else on or in the truck stays there. There are a few minor little things that might be missing, or non operational, but has never affected the use of the truck. All in all it is an 87. Im sure i am forgetting some things. This is a really good running truck, bid to win, and drive it home. THE TRUCK IS BEING SOLD AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY, AND NO REFUNDS. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. THERE IS A 500.00 DEPOSIT DUE AT AUCTION END WITHN 24 HOURS, AND THE REST IS DUE IN CASH UPON PICKUP. THE TRUCK WILL NEED TO BE PICKED UP WITHIN 7 TO 10 DAYS OF AUCTION END. HAPPY BIDDING, AND BID TO WIN. NO RESERVE |

Ford GT dominates Le Mans qualifying, gets slapped with performance adjustment
Fri, Jun 17 2016Fifty years after Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon drove the Ford GT40 to victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ford is poised for a historic return to the Circuit de la Sarthe. The new Ford GT took the top two qualifying positions in the LMGTE Pro class, and four of the top five. Ferrari's 488 filled in the rest of the spots in the top seven, the first two from AF Corse. In other words, we're primed for a reboot of the classic Ford-Ferrari feud at this year's race. Or not, as the ACO, which organizes the 24 Hours of Le Mans, announced sweeping pre-race Balance of Performance (BOP) adjustments this morning that make this year's GT class anybody's race. In LMP1, last year's overall winner Porsche locked up the top two spots with the 919 Hybrid and will lead the entire field at race start. Toyota's two-car factory effort followed with qualifying times 1.004 and 2.170 seconds behind the pole lap. Audi rounds out the manufacturer-backed LMP1 class in fifth and sixth. Full qualifying results can be found here. The storyline for the GT cars is perfect - some say too perfect. Ford's class-leading times came after BOP adjustment to the Corvette Racing C7.R before qualifying. BOP is intended to level the playing field in the class by adjusting power, ballast, and fuel capacity. (Check out this explainer video for more, or even just if you love French accents.) But the process is riddled with unknowns and ripe for accusations of sandbagging. That is, if the Ford cars were intentionally slow in practice they could hope for BOP adjustment to improve their race chances. On the Corvette side, last year's GTE Pro winner went from the top of the field to the bottom, barely improving from practice to qualifying. If you think Le Mans is as rigged at the NBA Playoffs, well, it's not that simple. Because if Ford and Ferrari held back until qualifying - the eighth-place Porsche 911 RSR is three-and-a-half seconds off the class pole time - it was a pretty dumb strategy. This morning, the ACO tried to put things back in order by limiting the boost in the Ford GT's twin-turbo V6 and adding 11 pounds of ballast. Ferrari was also given extra weight but allowed more fuel capacity. The Corvette and Aston Martin teams were both given breaks on their air restrictors, which will allow their engines to make more power. Both Ford and Porsche also received extra fuel capacity.
Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures
Tue, Jun 23 2020It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.
