ORIGIONAL OWNER
I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE TRUCK EXCEPT 1 SENSOR A FEW YEARS AGO AND THAT HAS BEEN IT ! THE TRUCK HAS BEEN GREAT . I AM THE ORIGIONAL OWNER ! I PURCHED TRUCK THREW MY BUISNESS AND THEN SOLD IT BACK TO MYSELF SO THE RECORDS WILL SHOW I AM THE SECOND OWNER BUT IN REALITY I AM THE ONLY OWNER ' JUST WANTED TO SPELL THAT OUT INCASE THERE WOULD BE ANY CONFUSION . I WOULD ALSO SAY 70% OF THE TRUCKS MILES ARE HIGHWAY MILES AND SINCE NEW IVE ONLY REPLACED THE BRAKES 1 TIME WHICH IS AMAZING AND I HAVE TO GIVE CHEVY PROPS FOR THAT AND MAKING A GOOD TRUCK. I HAVE BRAND NEW TIRES ON THE TRUCK PROB LESS THAN 5000 MILES AGO AND LIKE I SAID NEW BRAKES AS WELL. THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS AT ALL AND IT ALSO HAS THE REMOTE START WHICH IS NICE FOR THE WINTERS AND ALARM! THE TRUCK HAS TOWING PACKAGE WITH A CLASS 3 HOOK UP AND ELECTRIC BRAKES AND PULLS VERY WELL FOR A 2500. I ALSO HAVE A STROBE KIT INSTALLED BUT IT IS CURRENTLY UNPLUGGED BECAUSE MY 5 YEAR OLD LIKE TO TURN THE STROBES ON AND NOT TURN IT OFF AND KILL MY BATTERY LOL . THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED IN 2011 AND IS STILL FINE NO PROBLEM. I ONLY USE PREMIUM GAS 92 OR 93 OCTANE NO CHEAP GAS '' IN MY OPINION THAT IS ONE OF THE REASONS IVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THE TRUCK.
THE INTERIOR OF THE TRUCK IN MY OPINION IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND JUST HAS THE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR A TRUCK ITS AGE WOULD HAVE ! THE CARPET IS IN OK SHAPE TOO'' IVE ALWAYS HAD FLOOR MATS AND SEAT COVERS DOWN ECT.... THE HEADLINER BY THE DRIVERS DOOR HAS A BLEMISH FROM LOCKING MY KEYS IN THE TRUCK ONE TIME'' A TOW TRUCK TECH USED HIS SLIM JIM AND WHEN HE DID THE HEADLINER PULLED DOWN A LITTLE AND I GLUED IT BACK UP BUT IF YOU REALY LOOK AT THAT LITTLE PIECE YOU CAN TELL. IT IS NOT REAL BAD BY ANY MEANS BUT WANTED TO MAKE A NOTE . THE BODY OF THE TRUCK IS ALSO IN GOOD CONDITION IN MY OPINION ! IVE ALWAYS KEPT A GOOD COAT OF WAX ON IT AND KEPT THE BODY OF THE TRUCK AS NICE AS I COULD. IT IS GOOD CONDITION JUST THE MINOR SCUFFS AND SMALL SCRATCHES THAT A TRUCK ITS AGE WILL GET '' THE ONLY SMALL DING IS BY THE DRIVERS DOOR DURING A BAD WIND STORM THE WIND BLEW THE DOOR PAST 90 AND PUT 2 LITTLE DINGS BY THE HINGES . BUT ONCE AGAIN IN MY OPINION THE TRUCK LOOKS GOOD AND NOTHING MAJOR WRONG WITH BODY OR THE MOTOR . IT IS A GOOD TRUCK FOR WORK OR FOR PERSONAL USE AND HAS ALOT OF LIFE LEFT IN IT AND I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT GO TO A GOOD HOME.
ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK , OR IF I MISSED ANY THING PLEASE LET ME NO ! I WANT TO BE AS HONEST AND OPEN AS I CAN SO NO ONE IS MISLED . LIKE I SAID THE TRUCK IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AND I HOPE IT ENDS UP GOING TO SOMEONE WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF IT. THANKS

How a Texas Hyundai dealer became the Chevy SSR king
Tue, Apr 21 2015The SSR isn't one of the most appreciated vehicles in Chevy's long history. With a style amalgamating the look of a vintage hotrod, convertible and a pickup, it's really serving a niche market right from the start. However, a Hyundai dealer in Texas has turned selling the cult models into a booming business and has become the de facto king of the quirky truck. According to Automotive News, Paul Peebles runs North Freeway Hyundai in Spring, TX, but he's better known in the Chevy SSR community the premiere seller of the weird model through his used car network. The odd venture started in 2010 when Peebles wanted to boost his pre-owned business and bought several sporty vehicles. Among them were five SSRs, and he threw a cookout for owners to get the word out. Things just ballooned from there. Since then, Peebles' used car dealer has had a hand in 447 SSR transactions, and some of those are the same truck coming back to sell again. With just over 24,000 of them out there, that works about to two percent of the model's production moving through just one business. The dealership also sponsors an SSR owners' forum online. Being a major broker for a niche model also means that Peebles often gets rare examples of the SSR, including some of the Indianapolis 500 pace car versions, according to Automotive News. We even saw a bizarre one last year when the business put this shark-inspired truck on eBay Motors. The whole thing also works out well for Peebles' Hyundai business. Specializing in SSRs brings other performance models in as trade-ins, and they can draw folks to the lot to check out the collection. Then, maybe visitors can take a look at a Sonata, too.
GM shows off 'digital vehicle platform' enabling more in-car tech and OTA updates
Wed, May 22 2019It appears to have dropped the sobriquet "Global B," but General Motors' new electrical architecture has bowed in drawings and video. This is the "digital vehicle platform" GM president Mark Reuss spoke to Reuters about in 2015, saying it would move a great deal of a vehicle's computer work to the cloud and enable over-the-air updates. Reuss took the microphone for the debut, too, saying, "Our new digital vehicle platform and its eventual successors will underpin all our future innovations across a wide range of technological advancements, including EVs and expanded automated driving." The system will go into production later this year, appearing in dealerships first either on the 2020 Cadillac CT5 or the mid-engined 2020 Chevrolet Corvette. Yes, these are the same electronics cited for delaying the launch of the C8 Corvette over excessive draw, security and getting the more-than-100 computer modules to communicate seamlessly. When Car and Driver asked about that, GM replied with "No comment." Volkswagen's having the same issues with the Mk8 Golf right now, though, so GM isn't alone, and this will be the new normal among OEMs for a while. What's certifiable is that the new architecture is robust enough to handle 4.5 terabytes of data per hour, which is five times what GM's current wiring can handle. And thanks to Ethernet connections of 100 Mbps, 1 Gbs and 10 Gbs, communication within and without the vehicle happens much faster. The advances mean better screen resolutions, better battery management for hybrids and electric vehicles, the capability for over-the-air updates and "functionality upgrades throughout the lifespan of the vehicle." Cadillac's Super Cruise has already been lined up as a leading candidate for constant improvements in the driving assistance suite, a key part of GM's "vision for a world with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion." And whenever GM decides to take the plunge, it will mean a 48-volt electrical system. More than 300 specialists worked on the digital platform, and security was a huge part of the task. We've already heard that GM consulted with Boeing and military contractors on how to prevent hacking. The carmaker has an internal Product Cybersecurity group that reached out to the research community, and created a "bug bounty" program to crowdsource uncovering any flaws.
Weekly Recap: GM plans massive new paint shop at Chevy Corvette factory
Sat, May 23 2015General Motors is laying out some serious green to maintain the Chevy Corvette's expansive color palette. The automaker is breaking ground on a new paint shop this summer that's part of a $439-million investment to upgrade the 34-year-old Bowling Green, KY, factory that builds the Stingray. The massive new structure will total 450,000 square feet, nearly half the size of the current 1-million square-foot facility. Construction is expected to take two years and won't impact Corvette production. The upgrades include new robots that save paint and create a better finish, longer, more efficient ovens to bake in the finish, and LED lighting. There's also a dry scrubbing booth technology with a limestone handling system that eliminates waste. GM has invested $135 million in the factory in last four years for the changeover to build the C7 and to relocate its Performance Build Center to Bowling Green. The improvements continue to modernize the Kentucky factory, which has become a tourist attraction in its own right, as more than 56,000 enthusiasts visited it last year. The upgrades are part of a $5.4-billion investment GM confirmed in April that will remake its US footprint in the next three years. The Bowling Green expansion underscores GM's continued commitment to the Corvette, which sold nearly 38,000 copies around the world last year, an eight-year high. "With this major technology investment, we can continue to exceed the expectations of sports car buyers for years to come," North American manufacturing manager Arvin Jones said in a statement. OTHER NEWS & NOTES Takata recall hits 34 million vehicles The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration expanded the Takata airbag recall to an almost unthinkable 34 million vehicles on Tuesday. The recall is part of an agreement reached by the two sides where Takata admitted some of its airbag inflators have a defect, and the deal compels the company to comply with all future regulatory actions and investigations. Takata's airbag inflators were produced with "a propellant that can degrade over time" and lead to ruptures, NHTSA said. Six deaths have been attributed to the flaw worldwide. Investigations conducted by Takata, automakers, and others have not determined the exact cause of the inflator problem, but NHTSA said moisture appears to alter the propellant's chemical structure. It then ignites too rapidly, creates too much pressure that ruptures the inflator, and blasts shards of metal at passengers.
