this is a 1985 chevy K20 2500 4x4. this was a truck we were building here at precision diesel service inc. for an employee but he did not have the time or money to finish it, so i bought it from him incomplete. i will list everything i can possibly remember but im sure i will miss a thing or two. to start with when we got this truck it already had the tires, rims, 4" BDS suspension lift on it. the previous owner had 5-6000 miles on that stuff. the rest of this list is all been done this winter and has less than 300 miles on all of it. welded in new cab corners (full length long ones) inner and outer rocker panels, floor pans, front fenders, doors, bed was all redone prior to paint, tailgate was taken off a 60,000 mile rust free truck, all exterior lights- headlights, turn signals, marker lights, tail lights and put new bulbs in all exterior lights, interior lights, dash, 4x4 shifter bulb, ashtray bulb, dome light bulb. new tonneau cover, fuel tank, rear disk brake conversion, exhaust, all wiring was cut out of engine compartment, and cab and wired specifically for the conversion. has new hood liner insulation. we took the time to reroute the hood latch cable so its completly hidden and not running across the radiator support and inner fender area. motor is a 1994 12 valve p-pumped cummins that had 54,000 original miles on it. we pulled it apart had the head redone completely, all new bearings, seals, gaskets, pistons, rings, rist pins, and cam. there was absolutly no need to do anything to the motor but when we were building it, he wanted it to be all new everything so the truck would last the rest of his life. turbo is an hx-35 and makes 35 psi of boost. the injectors are 200 hp over stock injectors and the pump is an industrial p-pump. all intake/turbo tubes were made here, vacuum/power steering pump is a 93 dodge diesel factory style pump. intercooler and radiator are both 1994 dodge 3500 factory, with two 20" electric fans on an adjustable thermostat. has autometer procomp boost, egt, and trans temp gauge. all the factory gauges work properly, even the speedometer is acurite according to gps. the transmission is an electronic 4L80E automatic with overdrive. it is controlled by a fully tuneable/adjustable optishift trans controller computer from bauman electronics. the software is all included with the truck and i will teach you to use it so you can make changes if you want. the truck runs and drives like it was built this way from the factory. its very smooth and just a ton of power and fun to drive. from what i have figured so far its getting around 20 mpg maybe higher. the seats are out of a 1994 dodge 3500. the carpet is all new factory fit and molded so it looks very nice. interior is mostly black with some charcoal gray. exterior paint is 2012 cadillac gunmetal gray. this is an amazing color and just really stands out in the sun. exhaust is 4" all the way out to a stainless 5" tip. battery trays are custom made aluminum to fit two large 880 cca napa 75 month batteries but at the same time keep them very low and out of sight in engine compartment. all wiring on motor is laid out to be as hidden as possible on the motor and then hidden in the wiper cowl to cross over to driver side where it connects to a factory bulk head connecter. this truck was built to be 100% driveable anywhere at any time and is just that. it could be a show truck although its not perfect by any means it is absolutly beautiful and turns heads everywhere you take it. the injector and pump set up make it idle very rough as if its a pulling truck but as soon as you bring it off idle it smooths right out, and like i said it is 100% driveable. i have drove it back and forth to work and this past weekend ran it down the highway at 75 mph without a single issue. at 55 mph its running about 6 psi of boost 600* on egt and trans temp is about 150*. i currently only have less than 300 miles on it but will try to have 500-600 miles on it before its sold, but i refuse to drive it in the rain or with any salt/sand on the road. so its been hard to get it out with the weather changing so drastically here in indiana. forecast does not look good this week so its parked in the back of the heated shop for now. im sure i have missed several things so call me with any questions or offers. this truck was professionally built right here at Precision Diesel Service inc. in goshen indiana. We are a company that specializes in cummins conversions and currently have four trucks in process as i write this, so i assure you this is done right. i am interested in trades for newer diesel trucks, mostly looking for 2005-2007 ford 6.0L powerstroke 4x4 trucks. call will at 574-361-0449. i dont have a lot of time to respond to a million emails so call or text for fastest response.

GM is quietly slashing prices on base models
Fri, Jan 30 2015While General Motors' fourth quarter financial figures haven't yet been released, the automaker seems to be weathering a potentially rocky time well, even beating third-quarter projections last year. To keep the climb going, the company is launching new base trims for several popular models that make them cheaper than ever but with tight dealer margins. The new entry-level trims are the Chevrolet Cruze L, Equinox L, GMC Terrain SL and Buick LaCrosse 1SV. Buyers lose some content by picking them, but the prices are slashed. According to Cars Direct, the biggest savings are on the LaCrosse, where customers pay $31,065, plus $925 destination, $2,570 less than the previous base 1SB trim but must accept things like 17-inch wheels and no cargo net in the back. If you're wondering how Buick can remove only a little equipment but cut the price so much, it's because the company also slashed dealer margins. According to Cars Direct, the difference between the invoice and MSRP for the LaCrosse 1SV is only around $150, compared to around $1,350 before. The disparity is even greater for the Cruze with an $81 difference in the prices, compared to about $600 for the LS version. Showrooms are expected to keep very low stocks of these trims, though. "Dealers use such vehicles to get people in the door, but they do not generally want to do high volumes of these strippers. The margins are next to nothing; they don't make much money off these cars," said Ed Kim, Vice President of Industry Analysis for AutoPacific to Autoblog. Dealers are also expected to advertise that these new base trims undercut major competitors. For example, the Cruze L rings up for about $2,320 less than a Honda Civic LX, according to Cars Direct. One potential drawback for buyers is that these models might not be eligible for incentives. While the attractive prices might get customers into dealers, folks may not actually end up driving home with these entry-level models. Kim indicated base trims also make up a small portion of the sales mix. "Consumers aren't asking for stripped out vehicles, even at the low end of the marketplace," he said. GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say
Fri, 05 Apr 2013The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
GM offering factory-backed extended warranty for Chevys, GMCs, Buicks and Cadillacs
Mon, Oct 15 2018Cars are generally more reliable than ever before. When things do go wrong, every automaker offers some form of factory warranty (in most cases at least three years and 36,000 miles, though many extend even longer), providing peace of mind to new-car buyers that many faults will be fixed at no charge to the customer. Starting today, GM is offering a new optional plan that will extend the factory warranty on all new Chevy, GMC, Buick and Cadillac products. In the past, extended warranties have been offered as dealer add-ons, with all profits from these sales going to the dealership. GM's new program can be viewed as another nail in the the looming dealership-model coffin. According to Automotive News, some dealers aren't happy to see GM cut into their business like this, saying that it helps GM far more than it does dealers. GM says the new program will help keep customers in the GM family. Customers are also more likely to visit a GM service center rather than going to an independent repair shop. Currently, new Chevy and GMC vehicles come with three-year/36,000-mile warranties. Buicks and Cadillacs are covered for 4 years or 50,000 miles. The new program extends Chevy and GMC warranties to five years or 60,000 miles. Buick and Cadillac warranties extend to six years or 70,000 miles. GM, citing IHS Markit, says most owners keep new cars for about 6.8 years, so these warranties will cover most of the length of their ownership. The extended warranty will add between $1,000 and $2,000 to the price of a vehicle, and the additional cost can be rolled into the vehicle's purchase or lease price. Unlike many dealer extensions, the factory program covers the vehicle no matter who owns it. That should help increase the car's resale value if it's sold within the covered timeframe. GM says there's no deductible and no need to file a claim form when getting warranty repairs. Additionally, dealerships can continue to sell their own extended warranties or service contracts.
