1972 Chevy C20. It has an after market GM 350 crate engine (unknown mileage or when it was put in) with the stock 4 speed manual tranny. Engine doesn't smoke. It has the factory power lock (posi) rear end. It runs great. Manual steering. Breaks work fine but need work. Won't hold fluid but stops with the drums just fine.  Heat and everything works great. It sits in the garage and I drive it only about once a month. If you know these trucks it has the typical rust in the rockers and floor boards on the corners. Also rust near the bottom of the front fenders and near the tool box. Looks like someone attempted a horrible restoration at some point. Some parts on the driver's side floor board and wheels wells were fiberglassed.

The tailgate works good. It also has the rare passenger side tool box on the outside bed. It still needs work but I get lots of compliments just the way it is. Someone painted it a while back. It originally had the white top. It handles and drives great. Has two gas tanks but only one works. The box has some dents but is savable. Cab supports will need replaced eventually.  Have the original manual for it. I've done the following in the last year or so:

New Front Bumper/Bumper Brackets
New Grill Surround
New Head Light Bezels/Parking Light Lenses
New Cowl/Hood Seal
New Stainless Cowl Vent Guards
New Wipers
New Michelin MS2 Tires w/ Less than 200 miles
It has Ford 8 lugs that I had sandblasted and powder coated black.
I repainted the stainless caps that are hard to find. (Have over $2000 in the wheels/tires)
New battery/fuel filter/air filter
New Dash Pad
New Gauge Bezel (All lights work) Brake lights/Head Lights/Turn Signals All Work
Bought original black door panels that were redone nicely. I put on new door handles and window cranks. Also has new exterior door handles and chrome window felt.
Has a tape deck radio that works. Never got around to putting a CD player in it.
Some other new small misc stuff like new emer brake handle, ect.

The truck is used and old!!! It's nowhere near perfect. If you want to look at in person please feel free to contact me. If you want specific pictures of something contact me.  I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime if sold locally. SOLD AS IS/No Warranty. I've tried to describe it the best I can. Would be a nice driver to restore. Clean and free title.

Opel CEO talks new EV, will likely be fresh face for Chevy, too

Wed, Jul 23 2014

The rumored demise of the Opel Ampera has been confirmed, but there's good news, too. Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann has been busy Tweeting information about the brand's next plug-in vehicle, admitting that the Ampera is on the way out but that plug-in vehicles are here to stay. His Tweets, in full, read: After the eventual run-out of the current generation Ampera, we'll introduce a successor product in the electric vehicle segment. Our next electric vehicle will be part of our massive product offensive – with 27 new vehicles in the 2014-2018 time frame. We see eMobility as important part of the mobility of tomorrow and we will continue to drive down costs & deliver affordability. As we learned earlier this week, the Ampera will not be refreshed when the current Chevy Volt is updated, most likely because of slow sales. Opel sold just 332 Amperas in the first five months of 2014. For now, General Motors is still building Amperas in Michigan for export to Europe. So, what might this new EV mean for the General Motors plug-in fleet? Official spokespeople are being quiet, but we think it's safe to say the new EV Neumann is talking about is not simply a rebadged Chevy Spark EV. This is the first official word about an entirely new EV, and we expect it will come to both the Chevrolet and Opel brands.

These are the five most ridiculous attacks on the Chevy Volt [w/videos]

Thu, Aug 7 2014

It's been a long, strange trip for the Chevy Volt from the time when the now-odd-looking concept version (above) was introduced at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show to today. And now, General Motors announced that the second-generation Chevy Volt will make an appearance at the 2015 Detroit show in January. This debut represents a victory for GM with what has easily become the most politicized car of the 21st Century. There are plenty of reasons for someone to criticize the Volt, but what's amazing is just how much anti-Volt energy has been spent not on things like the styling or how the EREV setup is not as efficient as a pure-EV powertrain. As we wait for more official information on the new Volt, we thought it would be fun to go back and look at some of the most wildly incorrect reporting and strangest attacks on the Volt from the archives. There is so much good stuff out there, it was hard to pare the list down, but these are our five favorites. Amazingly, they're not all clips from Fox News. Check 'em out below. 5. GM Is Going To Stop Making The Chevy Volt In The US Do you remember when GM was about to move Volt production to China? Well, yeah, this was reported back in early 2012 when a GM executive mentioned that the automaker would get benefits of building the Volt in the places where it sells them. This was spun into a story of GM taking Obama bailout money and then running to China. The Blaze was not happy: "Given the fact that Federal government helped itself to millions and millions of taxpayer dollars under the pretense that it was going to combat high unemployment by creating 'green jobs,' it would seem that moving research and development (and possibly manufacturing) overseas is slightly, well, counterproductive." Well, of course, that never happened. There's no way to say that GM will never build a version of the Volt in China, but the news we hear rumors of these days is that GM is going to move production of more Volt parts (specifically, the motors) to Michigan from overseas. 4. The Chevy Volt Is A Fire Trap There has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. Yes, there were Volts that caught on fire. Yes, that's a scary thing. But there has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. These were crashed test vehicles with destroyed batteries and plugged-in vehicles that were not the cause.

2016 Chevy Camaro leaked on CNBC

Fri, May 15 2015

It seemed inevitable. Eventually some outlet would get access to fully uncovered pictures of the sixth-generation 2016 Chevrolet Camaro and let them loose early. Embargoes break. All. The. Time. And for this round, credit goes to CNBC's Squawk Box. The program, according to the GM Inside News forums, had been talking about the new Camaro "all morning," when it dropped a trio of images of the new muscle car. Consider this, then, our first full look at the 2016 Camaro, a car we detailed extensively earlier this morning. In general, the leaked images confirm much of what we discussed in that post regarding the car's looks – an evolved style, with a slim grille up front, a rounded tail, and a very short rear deck. Check out the leaked images, give our Camaro round-up a read, and strap in for tomorrow's big Camaro reveal.
