1970 Chevrolet C20 Pickup Truck 3/4 Ton Camper Special Classic Collector on 2040-cars
Fontana, California, United States
Up for sale is my 1970 Chevy C-20 Pickup Truck. This truck is a collector's dream, with rare options and lots of potential. It includes model year changeover styling from the factory where the VIN clearly shows it's a 1970, but the grill and interior trim are from the 1971 model year. Plus, it has the roof marker lamps, side mounted storage box with locking compartment, heavy duty suspension, dual 20 gallon fuel tanks, long bed, AM/FM CD player, sliding glass rear window, Class IV tow hitch, front disk brakes, under-bed spare tire carrier, Dana 60 rear end, TH350 automatic transmission and rebuilt 350 V-8 with Edelbrock manifold. This is also a factory equipped air conditioned truck which is very rare for the year. The exterior is two-toned yellow and white with Deluxe trim. It also has a very throaty dual exhaust system that sounds great! For the true enthusiast, this truck would make an awesome project vehicle, and with a little work, it could be a show winner. AS IS, it would make a great work vehicle that could get the job done! Keep in mind, this is a 44 year old vehicle, so it will need body work and some TLC. The tires are worn and show signs of age and the spare is missing, the paint is original and scratched/faded and the body has lots of rust, dings and dents with missing trim and no rear bumper (see pictures). The A/C needs to be recharged and the interior/seats need to be redone. The lights, wipers, and gauges work and overall, this is a good running, reliable, smooth riding and great sounding truck. For California buyers, registration tags are good through January 2015! Of course, there is no warranty expressed or implied and it is for sale locally so I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time. Bid now to make this truck your own! E-mail me if you have any questions. Good luck and thanks for looking.

Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]
Thu, 13 Dec 2012Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
