This is a 1988 Chevrolet short wheel base step side truck that has been heavily customized. I will try to list everything that has been done to it. A friend of mine has a body shop locally that all the custom work was done at. He is we'll know around the area for doing custom vehicles. It has an excellent paint job using 3800 base clear high end paint. The inside of the bed looks as good as the outside. It has borla exhaust on and corvette tips and headers. It has an msd ignition along with a 6a box. It has a cold air intake and a stage 2 jegs performance chip. Has all new msd wires. Has all new sensors( all that could be put on the engine). It has a new crate LS 350 motor that has a alittle over 7,000 miles. It has always has Mobil one synthetic oil. It has all new brakes and brake lines. Along with booster and master cylinder. It has a new battery.  It has been lowered 4 in the front and 6 in the back. It has an all belltech drop suspension with two inch drop spindles. It has new bell tech coil springs and all new euro thane bushings. It has new ball joints. It has a steel cowl hood. It has a new steel roll pan. Brand new 5 spoke 18 x 8 wheels and new v rated tired with a new spare tire. It has LED tail lights and new grill with a billet bow tie emblem. It has new one piece HID headlights and running lights. It has new side mirrors. New step pads on the bed. It has all new infinity component speakers with a 10 inch infinity subwoofer as well as an infinity amp and clarion equalizer. Also has another amp that runs the infinity speakers that replaced the factory ones. It has a new CD player with Bluetooth and mp3 with remote. It has all new carpet and headliner. It has a new serpentine belt because we disabled the smog pump. And that is kinda where the customization got stopped. I was having this done for my son as it's the kind of work I did before I broke my neck many years ago. Before the inside of truck was finished we found out that out son had a brain tumor. It was driven by my wife for about 6 months because we didn't want to get rid of it. I have come to the realization that we we no longer need the truck. Now on to the things that didn't get customized. The seats which are in good shape.it is a 60-40 bench seat that came out of a new truck. We were gonna have it covered in leather along with all of the dash and door panels. The ac work and blows cold air works but it needs a new o ring on the evaporator line. It leaks down in about two days. There are probably some other things that were upgraded that I just can't seem to think of at the moment.  I have way more money invested in the truck than I am asking for it. It is also for sale locally. If there are any questions please feel free to call at 205-625-6568 or send a message.

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum

Fri, 02 May 2014

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.

GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.

How Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra will take on the Ford F-150 profit machine

Fri, Aug 10 2018

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — When General Motors engineers were developing the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks, some of them joined public tours of Ford's Dearborn, Mich., factory to watch aluminum-bodied F-Series trucks go down the assembly line. The redesign of the Ford F-Series trucks, launched in 2014, set a new standard for fuel economy and lightweight vehicle construction. But armed with stopwatches and trained eyes, the GM engineers believed they saw problems. "They had a real hard time getting those doors to fit," Tim Herrick, the executive chief engineer for GM truck programs, told Reuters. His team did more intelligence gathering. They bought and tore apart Ford F-Series doors sold as repair parts. Their conclusion: GM could cut weight in its trucks for a lower cost using doors made of a combination of aluminum and high-strength steel that could be thinner than standard steel, shaving off kilograms in the process. These pounds-and-pennies decisions will have major implications in the highest-stakes game going in Detroit: dominance in the world's most profitable vehicle market, the gasoline-fueled large pickup segment. What's more, GM is banking on strong sales of overhauled 2019 Silverados and GMC Sierras to fund its push into automated and electric vehicles — a business many investors see as the auto industry's long-term future. The risks are high given the hits automakers have taken from U.S. President Donald Trump's trade policies. Rising aluminum prices spurred by Trump's tariffs are driving up costs on the Ford's F-Series, while rising steel and aluminum prices likewise drag on GM results. GM also has a significant risk should the United States, Mexico and Canada fail to agree on a new NAFTA trade deal, given GM trucks built at its Silao, Mexico, factory could face a 25 percent tariff if NAFTA collapses. Major profit per truck Interviews with GM executives and a tour at its factory here in northwest Indiana provide a detailed look inside GM's plan for the most important vehicles in its global lineup. These big pickups are everything Tesla's Model 3 or Chevy's Bolt electric car is not. The mostly steel body is bolted to the truck's steel frame, rather than the one-piece body and frame electric vehicles. The majority of trucks will have a V-8 gasoline engine powering the rear wheels — like the classic GM cars of the 1950s. Some Silverados will have new four-cylinder engines, but there is no electric or hybrid offering as of now.
