1983 Chevrolet Silverado K-10 Shortbed 4x4 Very clean Chevrolet K10 Truck, it started out as a solid New Mexico Truck that got a mild restoration. We have owned the truck for about 2 years and have decided to sell. I have listed it 2 times previously, but somehow it attracted 2 buyers that did not have the money to purchase the truck. Please bid only if you have the funds available. I have just installed some New BFG All Terrain Tires with Rally Wheels with New Beauty Rings and New Center Caps for that classic look. The truck has tons of new parts. In the past year we have done so much that it is hard to list everything. We wanted a New "Old" Truck. This truck gets attention no matter where you go, it is definitely an eye turner. It has never been treated and abused like a work truck. The pictures prior to paint should give a clue of how well the truck was prior to any body work. This truck should have no problem passing emissions. I did not do anything with the exhaust for that reason. It currently still has catalytic converters and stock mufflers. It purrs like it should. It has a very minor leak that looks like it might be coming from the rear of the engine. Its been sitting for a few months now so some use might get rid of it. This truck was too un molested, only modification I made was installing a K&N Air Filter and an Edelbrock Air Cleaner. I will include the stock Air Cleaner if requested. I installed a RetroSound Radio that looks like stock but has an Auxiliary port and is compatible with any sound system that you might want to put on. The speakers are Pioneer. I did not want to cut and add a stereo that might possibly ruin the bezel. The truck has the speakers installed in the stock locations, 2 in the dash and 2 behind the seat. Here's a List of New Parts: The engine is a 305 Crate Engine from Napa with approximately 5k miles, A/C Condenser, 134 Hoses, A/C Compressor, A/C Head Unit (in dash), New Brake Pads, Brake Shoes, Brake Rotors, Brake Drums, Fuel PumpHoses, Battery, Two Tone Paint, Carpet, Seat Upholstery, Door Panel Carpets, Windshield & Rear WindowWindow Rubber (Front and Rear), BF Goodrich Tires All-Terrain 33x12.5x15 Brand New, Rally Wheels with New Beauty Rings, Center Caps, Warn Locking, Manual Hubs, New Belts, Side Moldings, Silverado Fender Emblems, Weather Stripping, Dash Bezel Cluster Lens, Air Vents, Stainless Steel Molding in Dash, Undercarriage has been sprayed with undercoatingAnd the list goes on.............. Please Call me with any questions or Concerns. I have Sold Plenty of Cars and Trucks on eBay and my feedback shows it. The pictures should speak more than my description but if you have any questions do not hesitate to call me I am selling the truck as is, so please come take a look at it if at all possible. 928.503.5700 - If no answer, please leave a message. |

GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech
Tue, 24 Dec 2013The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.
Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra flunk IIHS headlight test
Tue, Oct 25 2016The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put pickup truck headlights to the test and found that the majority of them were equipped with subpar units. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was the only truck to earn a rating of "good." The large pickup truck test was comprised of the: 2016 to 2017 GMC Sierra, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2016 Ram 1500, 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, 2016 to 2017 Ford F-150, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tundra. The Sierra's headlights earned a rating of "acceptable," the headlights found on the Titan and Ram 1500 were found to be "marginal," and the ones on the Silverado, F-150, and Tundra were rated as "poor." IIHS claims the F-150 was the most disappointing out of the large pickup trucks as both its halogen and optional LED headlights failed to provide adequate visibility during testing. The Ridgeline (which earned a "good rating"), is usually considered a midsize or small truck, though IIHS included it in the field of large pickups. The headlights on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, 2016 GMC Canyon, 2016 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tacoma, which made up the small pickup truck group, all earned a rating of "poor." The IIHS claimed the Colorado had the worst headlights of any truck that was tested, as the base vehicle's units were only able to illuminate up to 123 feet in front of the car. The Ridgeline's headlights, for reference, were able to illuminate up to 358 feet in front of the vehicle. To conduct its test, the IIHS utilizes a special tool to measure how far light is projected out of the headlights in different driving situations. The trucks' headlights were tested in a straight line and in corners, while vehicles with high-beam assist were given extra praise. The headlights on the pickup trucks also mimic the testing that was done on small SUVs and cars earlier this year. Next year, automakers will need to fit their vehicles with headlights that earn a rating of either good or acceptable to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Related Video:
Here's the production Chevy Bolt
Tue, Dec 1 2015"It looks like a Volt had an evening of regrets with an i3." That's AutoblogGreen editor-in-chief Sebastian Blanco talking about the car you see here, the 2017 Chevy Bolt. Our trusty spy photographers caught the new Bolt EV fully uncovered at a photo shoot, ahead of its official debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. To say the styling looks familiar would be an understatement. There's a lot of Volt elements here, and the nod to the BMW i3 is definitely valid. It's not unattractive, it's just sort of, well, there. Never mind, the Bolt will have a lot going for it when it launches, should earlier rumors come to fruition. The hatchback is expected to have a 200-mile electric range, and should cost right around $30,000 after incentives. The Bolt will be built in Michigan, and will likely arrive at dealers in early 2017. Chevy knows this one's going to be huge, and the company is fully committed to launching and marketing the Bolt the right way. We'll have the full details in January at CES. For now, feast your eyes on His Boltness in the gallery above. Let us know what you think about it, in the Comments.
