1983 Chevrolet K10 Scottsdale 4x4 on 2040-cars
Killen, Alabama, United States
I am having to sell this 1983 Chevrolet K10 Scottsdale 4x4 pickup. Aside from minor cosmetic rust, this pickup truck is an outstanding running example of a 30 year old classic. It has only had two owners and it has plenty of extras! I personally don't know the exact mileage on the 350 chevrolet engine, expect that is is bored .030 over and has good compression and doesn't need any work done to it, I do have a build sheet available for when the engine was built though. (cam specs are a 210 duration at .050 lift, total lift is .440 intake and exhaust. It comes equipped with a 600 CFM Holley 4160 Electric Choke Carburetor matted to a Edelbrock Performer intake. The ignition components include a Accel distributor, plugs, and wires. Exhaust gases exit through long tube headers and true dual exhaust system through flowmaster 40 series mufflers. The result is that this truck actually does not sound like ass! The running gear is in equally good shape and is equipped with the factory A833 4-speed manual overdrive transmission, quite a rare option in these trucks and they definitely improve overall fuel economy. The transfer case is the factory NP208 transfer case. Front and rear axles are GM corporate 10 bolts, regeared 3.73. New front axle steering damper. Lastly, the front axle is equipped with automatic locking hubs. Recent maintanence performed last winter includes a new oem-style radiator, new harmonic balancer and front crank seal, all new coolant hoses and heater core, thermostat, alternator and drive belt. Lastly, it has four new headlights and wipers. Lastly, it has new tires that literally have less than a thousand miles of wear, they are Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ 33x12.50x15 installed on American Racing Outlaw 1 15x10 aluminum alloys. Other than the superficial rust on parts of the cab and quarter-fenders, this truck is in remarkable shape giving its age. It isn't a show-truck, but a clean example of an adult owned K10 with lots of life left in it. I have invested over 2,000 dollars in tires and maintanence just last winter and I am selling because I am about to be a dad (insulting offers will be declined) and persuing other matters at the moment. Clean and clear title, you won't be disappointed. Asking 5,000. Respectful offers will be considered, insulting offers will be declined. NHTSA closes book on Ford, GM probes of 600,000 vehicles
Thu, Nov 27 2014US safety regulators have closed a pair of investigations into some 500,000 Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Marauder sedans built between 2004 to 2007, and 100,000 Chevrolet Impala models from 2014. The Ford investigation focused on rusting heat shields, which may become dislodged and jam the steering, according to Reuters. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that this happened very rarely. In fact, of the ten incidents filed with the government safety watchdog, six came from a single police department, which evidently had some sort of problem with its reporting. As for the Impala, the NHTSA investigators attributed two incidences of "unintended autonomous braking" to user error. In both cases, the vehicles were involved in rear-end collisions. According to GM investigators, it's believed that drivers accidentally activated the electric parking brake, causing the collisions. The vehicles in question were rental cars. Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra flunk IIHS headlight test
Tue, Oct 25 2016The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put pickup truck headlights to the test and found that the majority of them were equipped with subpar units. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was the only truck to earn a rating of "good." The large pickup truck test was comprised of the: 2016 to 2017 GMC Sierra, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2016 Ram 1500, 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, 2016 to 2017 Ford F-150, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tundra. The Sierra's headlights earned a rating of "acceptable," the headlights found on the Titan and Ram 1500 were found to be "marginal," and the ones on the Silverado, F-150, and Tundra were rated as "poor." IIHS claims the F-150 was the most disappointing out of the large pickup trucks as both its halogen and optional LED headlights failed to provide adequate visibility during testing. The Ridgeline (which earned a "good rating"), is usually considered a midsize or small truck, though IIHS included it in the field of large pickups. The headlights on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, 2016 GMC Canyon, 2016 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tacoma, which made up the small pickup truck group, all earned a rating of "poor." The IIHS claimed the Colorado had the worst headlights of any truck that was tested, as the base vehicle's units were only able to illuminate up to 123 feet in front of the car. The Ridgeline's headlights, for reference, were able to illuminate up to 358 feet in front of the vehicle. To conduct its test, the IIHS utilizes a special tool to measure how far light is projected out of the headlights in different driving situations. The trucks' headlights were tested in a straight line and in corners, while vehicles with high-beam assist were given extra praise. The headlights on the pickup trucks also mimic the testing that was done on small SUVs and cars earlier this year. Next year, automakers will need to fit their vehicles with headlights that earn a rating of either good or acceptable to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Related Video:
