For a 31 year old truck it is very solid with minimal rust. I have done my best to photograph the rougher areas of the truck so you can see them for yourself. It is a prime candidate for a restoration...or drive it like it is. Strong running 305 V8 with 4 speed trans. 4x4 works as it should. This truck was stored indoors and always maintained by the elderly owner. Sadly, it does need a few things, such as new shocks and the AC is not working. The belt is off the compressor so that may be bad, although it spins freely. Has an exhaust leak where the manifold meets the pipe at the flange. Tires also need to be balanced as it has a little vibration between 45-55 but then clears up. Outside of that its a hell of a truck to restore to its original glory. I was going to restore it but my sons car now occupies my garage due to an accident, so I have to let it go. Truck is very straight and very solid. Floor boards are very solid as are the rocker panels. Tool box in the back is a heavy duty locking box. Has sliding rear window. Bumpers on this truck look like brand new. Tailgate is rustfree and operates as it should. Wipers and heater function as they should.YES...this truck runs and drives just as it is! Please feel free to forward any questions and I'll answer them as quickly as possible. Thanks for your time and interest.

Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]

Wed, 15 May 2013

We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."

Supercharged 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 takes the C7 beyond the ZR1

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

The Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
