I have a flat red bagged Chevy truck that lays on the ground. Everything has been replaced from front to back
Body: this truck is painted viper red base coat clear coat with a flattening agent in the clear to give it the satin finish. the entire body was been media blasted: I replaced the rockers and cab corners and I shaved the drip rail, I frenched in a smooth gas cap to get rid of the factory one. I shaved the vents out of the wiper cowl and I removed the wiper arm assembly but it can be replaced. I shaved the entire fire wall and did away with the factory heat and make the pass side match the drivers side, I also shaved the drain channel at the top of the fire wall. I put outer skins on the doors and shaved the handles and bought a new header panel and tailgate for the bed. Inside the bed is all spikes to replace the bolts that hold the wood in place, wood and stainless strips are all new as well. All front sheet metal is new a also. The sunroof was in the truck when I got so I left it. The rear fenders have been radius cut 3 inches to clear 22's and still bolt up factory Engine: Rebuilt 350 with a 488 lift cam and everything is chrome and/or billet. Block is painted base coat clear coat red to match the truck, rebuilt 700r4 transmission with a lockout kit for overdrive to work properly and a new driveshaft. Transmission is sitting on a tubular crossmember as well. Aluminum 3 core radiator with billet overflow and red top optima battery Suspension: Frame is painted the same viper red as the truck with shinny clear coat, front clip is painted and rear clip is painted, I did not paint under the cab itself. Front frame is z'd 5 1/2" to lay out on the ground with gussets front and rear to support the work involved. The rear has a big c notch so it will lay out also. The front suspension is out of a '80 model truck so it would be 5 lug and have disc brakes, the hydro boost brake setup is off the same donor truck, rearend is from the same '80 model donor truck and was blasted and painted along with rear disc brake conversion as well. All the suspension is painted house of color Orion silver and clear coated along with the hydroboost pump on the fire wall, wheels are 22x9.5 hello front and rear with painted inserts to match with 245/30/22 tires |

EcoCar3 will convert Camaro to bitchin' eco rides
Sat, Apr 26 2014In the 47-year-history of the Chevrolet Camaro, there have been countless college-age kids spending a ton of time getting under the hood and souping 'em up. Now, General Motors is adding a twist to the concept by donating 16 Camaros for the EcoCar challenge that puts university teams together to wring out better fuel-efficiency out of various vehicles. No word on whether there will be donuts on anyone's lawn, as suggested by 80's punks the Dead Milkmen, but the idea's never a bad one. EcoCar3 will feature 16 teams such as Arizona State, Penn State, Ontario's University of Waterloo and, of course, Detroit's Wayne State University. They'll spend the next four years "[reducing] environmental impact, while maintaining the muscle and performance expected from this iconic American car," as the EcoCar organizers say. The goal is to maintain body design and safety standards while boosting efficiency and lowering emissions, but the actual process is far more complicated than that description suggests. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Bosch are among the sponsors of the contest, which is also put on by the US Department of Energy and managed by Argonne National Laboratory. Penn State won Year Two of the three-year EcoCar 2 competition with its E85 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle converted out of a Chevy Malibu. The grand-prize winner of EcoCar2 will be announced in June. Check out the EcoCar3 website and see the announcement video below for more details. This content is hosted by a third party. GM cars and SUVs recalled for leaking transmission fluid
Thu, Nov 5 2020General Motors is recalling more than 194,000 vehicles from 2018 to 2020 due to transmission fluid leaks. The leaks stem from an auto stop-start component that may have been installed with loose or missing bolts. The leaking fluid can affect the transmission's performance, and if it leaks onto a hot exhaust component, could potentially cause a fire. GM says that to date, it knows of no accidents or injuries related to the defect. The issue affects models from all four GM divisions. From Chevrolet, the affected vehicles are: 2018 Malibu, 2018–2019 Cruze, 2018–2020 Equinox, 2018–2020 Traverse, 2019–2020 Blazer At Buick, the following models are included: 2018–2019 LaCrosse, 2019–2020 Encore, 2019–2020 Enclave, At GMC, the recall includes: 2018–2020 Terrain, 2019–2020 Acadia Cadillac has two affected vehicles: 2019–2020 XT4 and 2020 XT6 The recall is scheduled to begin in mid-December. Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted. Dealers will inspect the transmission accumulator, and replace those with loose or missing bolts.
