This 1970 Chevy blazer is essentially immaculate.  I have over $50,000 invested in a full frame off restoration and I can provide you with receipts and photos of the entire process.

BODYWORK:  the frame off bodywork was completed less than one year ago. There is absolutely no rust on this vehicle whatsoever. Entire body and frame has been rhino lined.  There are a couple of very small, less than 1 cm chips near where the side mirrors are mounted, no metal is showing. Pictures can be sent upon request.  There is a small crack in the fiberglass on the inside of the rear hatch window.  Again the picture can be sent upon request.

INTERIOR:  carpet and headliner are brand-new, no flaws.  Seats are original, but no flaws no cuts no stains, no damage.  Digital heating and air condition system is new and functioning properly.  All electronics including interior and exterior lighting work properly no damage no problems recently restored, LED lighting in and out except on Gauges.  Leather rear panels are new without damage.  The entire top of the vehicle is removable if you want to drive without the top on, or there is a ragtop sunroof that can be pulled back. Sunroof is excellent and enjoyable but occasionally leaks if there's a heavy rain.  A full custom rollbar has been installed and welded to the frame with Padding, this was done during the frame off rest.  windows are manual and work like new

SOUND SYSTEM:  the sound system is insane,  including two 12s in the back with Kenwood amps and custom box, see pictures, Sony deck including full Bluetooth capability and USB conductivity.  A total of 10 speakers, 1000 W, remote control, and DVD screen for the second seat but not connected.  Also included is power door locks and an alarm with key fob control.

DRIVETRAIN/BREAKS/SUSPENSION : the drivetrain has about 5000 miles on it. It is a Chevy small block V8 350 with a vortex supercharger. Transmission and gears recently rebuilt.  truck starts first time on a cold morning, and Cruises comfortably at 80 mph on the freeway. I drive to work everyday:) power steering functioning properly no problems, front disc brakes and rear drum brakes about 80% new.  Chrome Rancho shocks are about four or five years old but have limited miles on them. Truck has an 8 inch skyjacker smooth ride lift.  It does not ride tight or bouncy all it's actually very smooth and soft ride.  Tires are 37.5 inch Toyo off-road tires with about 25 to 30% used, 70% left.  New power master cylinder with all new stainless steel lines.

This is a gorgeous truck,  although I drive it to work a couple times a week it stays garage and babied. It's never seen off-road! I have several high-end vehicles, but this one gets the most attention anywhere I'm driving. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or request for additional photos.  661 992 2819.

Opel's own ad shows Ampera-e beating Opels in drag race

Thu, Sep 8 2016

The Opel Ampera-e isn't expected to set any world records on a quarter-mile drag strip. But when it comes to crossing a major boulevard, though, the European version of the Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicle will more than hold its own, potentially scaring inattentive pedestrians everywhere. According to a 35-second video posted by General Motors' Opel division, at least. Opel set up the Ampera-e against four other small-and-sporty vehicles, including racing versions of the Opel Adam and Opel Astra as well as stock versions of the Opel Insignia and Corsa (what, you expected a Corvette to be in there?). With the EV's off-the-line torque as a selling point, Opel showed the Ampera-e beating the other vehicles in a 30-meter (100-foot) drag race. Of course, the video also shows the EV getting passed by some of the others soon after, but the point was made. Opel doubled down by adding the tagline "Fun to Drive" at the end of the video. While Opel hasn't revealed the single-charge range of the Ampera-e, it should be roughly the same as the Chevrolet Bolt, which will be about 200 miles. In addition, the Ampera-e, like the Bolt in the US, will get 200 horsepower from its electric motor, and will be able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than seven seconds. The Ampera-e will debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show later this month. General Motors said in February that Europe would get the Ampera-e by next year. Opel had previously used the Ampera name with the Euro version of the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in. Netflix to feature electric cars from GM and others in programming

Sun, Feb 5 2023

LOS ANGELES — Netflix has unveiled a new star for some of its upcoming programming: electric vehicles from General Motors and other automakers. The streaming service announced an agreement on Thursday to feature vehicles including the Chevrolet Bolt, the electric GMC Hummer pickup and the Cadillac Lyriq in TV series and films "where relevant." The companies will highlight the partnership in a commercial featuring Will Ferrell that will air during the Feb. 12 Super Bowl. Netflix and GM called the agreement "part of a commitment to a more sustainable future." Financial terms were not disclosed. Netflix said it will help creators "better understand how EVs can complement and enhance their stories." Shows that will feature GM's electric vehicles include "Love is Blind," "Queer Eye" and "Unstable." Netflix productions also will include electric vehicles made by other automakers, the company said.   Marketing/Advertising TV/Movies Chevrolet GM GMC Hummer

Full-size trucks are the best and worst vehicles in America

Thu, Apr 28 2022

You don’t need me to tell you that Americans love pickup trucks. And the bigger the truck, the more likely it seems to be seen as an object of desire. Monthly and yearly sales charts are something of a broken record; track one is the Ford F-Series, followed by the Chevy Silverado, RamÂ’s line of haulers, and somewhere not far down the line, the GMC Sierra. The big Japanese players fall in place a bit further below — not that thereÂ’s anything wrong with a hundred thousand Toyota Tundra sales — and one-size-smaller trucks like the Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger and Chevy Colorado have proven awfully popular, too. Along with their sales numbers, the average cost of new trucks has similarly been on the rise. Now, I donÂ’t pretend to have the right to tell people what they should or shouldnÂ’t buy with their own money. But I just canÂ’t wrap my head around why a growing number of Americans are choosing to spend huge sums of money on super luxurious pickup trucks. Let me first say I do understand the appeal. People like nice things, after all. I know I do. I myself am willing to spend way more than the average American on all sorts of discretionary things, from wine and liquor to cameras and lenses. IÂ’ve even spent my own money on vehicles that I donÂ’t need but want anyway. A certain vintage VW camper van certainly qualifies. I also currently own a big, inefficient SUV with a 454-cubic-inch big block V8. So if your answer to the question IÂ’m posing here is that youÂ’re willing to pay the better part of a hundred grand on a chromed-out and leather-lined pickup simply because you want to, then by all means — not that you need my permission — go buy one. The part I donÂ’t understand is this: Why wouldn't you, as a rational person, rather split your garage in half? On one side would sit a nice car that is quiet, rides and handles equally well and gets above average fuel mileage. Maybe it has a few hundred gasoline-fueled horsepower, or heck, maybe itÂ’s electric. On the other side (or even outside) is parked a decent pickup truck. One that can tow 10,000 pounds, haul something near a ton in the bed, and has all the goodies most Americans want in their cars, like cruise control, power windows and locks, keyless entry, and a decent infotainment screen.
