At a glance, it was practical for larger families needing the extra space, but having just the two doors made it a rather tough sell for Chevrolet dealers, even with the desired upscale Bel Air trim. For this reason, they were made in fewer and fewer production numbers throughout the 1955-1957 production run. By 1957, just 6,103 were delivered to dealerships making them the rarest of all production Bel Air ever produced, and sought after today!
