Welcome to our listing for this Very Unique 1956 Chevrolet Belair 2DR HDTP Custom. This amazing Belair has a few outstanding and creative custom touches that you just don't see everyday. The Headlights and Tailights have been Frenched. The radio antenna was also frenched. The door handles have been shaved and a new "door popper" was installed to easily open the door. The hood and deck lid have also been shaved and finally a custom grille was added for the final touch. All these featured combined gives this 1956 Belair a very tasteful and outstanding look. There is also a custom "bra" (not shown) for those extended trips to keep the Belair safe from bugs and rocks. Finally we will include a custom car cover (not shown) to keep the Belair clean while your not out crusing the streets.

The interior features custom upholstered  front bucket seats and the rear bench seat has been covered to match. The custom door panels were fabricated to match the seats and color coordinated carpet was installed.  The seats, door panels, and carpeting are all in very good condition and they look Super.

The engine is a Chevrolet Small Block 400 CU IN, and the transmission is a automatic 700R. The engine runs perfectly and the transmission shifts smoothly. The engine compartment has had a good amount of chrome added (every car should have a little bling) and the intake is polished. One disclosure is the rear main on the engine is seeping slightly. The Belair also features power front disc brakes to stop the custom efficently.

The Centerline wheels and BF Goodrich Tires compliment the look and stance of the Belair. The wheels are in great condition and the tires have only a few miles on them.

The body on the 1956 is realitively straight (remember this is a big car with big panels and is painted black), but I wouldn't call it perfect. The custom work is very tasteful and was done properly. The paint was sanded and buffed to a "smooth high shine" and is very good showing only a few minor flaws, the only ones worth mentioning is on the right hand seam between the rear window and deck lid (see pic) where the paint has couple small bubbles and some chips where the deck lid closes at the bottom. On a scale of 1 to 10 this Belair is a strong 7 to a middle 8. Very Very Good, but not perfect.

The undercarriage of the Belair is in good condition. There are no signs of holes in the floors, trunk, or on the frame. Remember this is a "driver quality" car and the underside shows signs of the car being driven. This Belair was built to drive and enjoy!

The VIN on the Belair is an Iowa assigned VIN that reads VC56J141374 control number A19790. It looks like during the restoration the VIN was taken off and misplaced and an assigned number (matching the title VIN) was issued. This Belair has a clean and clear Nebraska title.

In our opinion this is a "high quality" driver car. This is not a $75,000 nut and bolt restoration. If you are looking for perfect, this is probably not the car for you. If you are looking for a well above average driver quality car that commands a TON of attention, then this is the one you have been waiting to purchase. The previous owner had this car for a little over 4 years and did all the regular maintainence and upgrades.

Most are asking in well in excess of $30,000 for a similar car. Here is one you can own for under $28,000 and drive it in current condition without having to spend the summer working on the car. The 1956 drives out great and looks amazing cruising down the street. Picture yourself at the local cruise night hanging out with friends and showing them this "Super Custom" that looks much more expensive than the asking price. Then you get the luxury of driving down the boulevard windows down and hearing all the compliments and thumbs up from passers by.

This car is definately "on the money" and will sell quickly. The last car (1928 Ford Model A Hi-Boy Roadster) sold on e-bay the second day it was listed. This 1956 Belair is priced similar and won't last long. Don't wait! This one will be GONE!

Zombie cars: Discontinued vehicles that aren't dead yet

Thu, Jan 6 2022

Car models come and go, but as revealed by monthly sales data, once a car is discontinued, it doesn't just disappear instantly. And in the case of some models, vanishing into obscurity can be a slow, tedious process. That's the case with the 12 cars we have here. All of them have been discontinued, but car companies keep racking up "new" sales with them. There are actually more discontinued cars that are still registering new sales than what we decided to include here. We kept this list to the oldest or otherwise most interesting vehicles still being sold as new, including a supercar. We'll run the list in alphabetical order, starting with *drumroll* ... BMW 6 Series: 55 total sales BMW quietly removed the 6 Series from the U.S. market during the 2019 model year. It had been available in three configurations, a hardtop coupe, a convertible and a sleek four-door coupe-like shape.   BMW i8: 18 total sales We've always had a soft spot for the BMW i8, despite the fact that it never quite fit into a particular category. It was sporty, but nowhere near as fast as similarly-priced competitors. It looked very high-tech and boasted a unique carbon fiber chassis design and a plug-in hybrid powertrain, but wasn't really designed for maximum efficiency or maximum performance. Still, the in-betweener was very cool to look at and drive, and 18 buyers took one home over the course of 2021.   Chevy Impala: 750 total sales The Impala represented classic American tastes at a time when American tastes were shifting away from soft-riding sedans with big interior room and trunk space and into higher-riding crossovers. A total of 750 sales were inked last year.   Chrysler 200: 15 total sales The Chrysler 200 was actually a pretty nice sedan, with good looks and decent driving dynamics let down by a lack of roominess, particularly in the back seat. Of course, as we said regarding the Chevy Impala, the number of Americans in the market for sedans is rapidly winding down, and other automakers are following Chrysler's footsteps in canceling their slow-selling four-doors. Even if Chrysler never really found its footing in the ultra-competitive midsize sedan segment, apparently dealerships have a few leftover 2017 200s floating around. And for some reason, 15 buyers decided to sign the dotted line to take one of these aging sedans home last year.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

2016 Chevrolet Camaro starts at $26,695

Fri, Aug 21 2015

Parking the new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro in your driveway will cost $26,695, including the $995 destination charge. That's a cut from $27,000 for the same trim on a 2015 Camaro. If you prefer a V8 under the hood, then the base 1SS goes for $37,295, compared to $34,500 for that model currently. The 2016 Camaro is offered as a coupe and convertible in four trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, and 2SS. The LT is available with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 275 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque or a 3.6-liter V6 with 335 hp and 284 lb-ft. The SS gets a 6.2-liter V8 with 455 hp and 455 lb-ft. The first examples arrive before the end of the year, but droptops and the turbo engine don't materialize until the first quarter of 2016. Base models come with tech like Chevy's MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, a rearview camera, automatic climate control, and multiple driving modes. The RS Package adds to the style with 20-inch wheels, HID headlights, LED taillights, a different grille insert, and rear spoiler. Opting for the SS brings a more aggressive exterior look, plus performance upgrades like Brembo brakes, differential and transmission coolers, and a limited slip differential on those with a manual gearbox. Upgrading to the 2SS adds amenities like heated and ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, a Bose stereo, rear cross-traffic alert, and Side Blind Zone Alert with Lane Change Alert. Options like a Magnetic Ride Control suspension and dual-mode exhaust offer additional sportiness. Reading about the 2016 Camaro is nice, but Chevy now has a visualizer for the pony car. It's not quite a full configurator but lets you check out different colors, wheels, and stripes to imagine your future purchase. Enjoy finding just the right combo.
