Up for auction is my 1954 Chevy 210 2 door. 235 6cyl engine, 3 speed standard, column shift, 28323 on speedometer. The engine has a 6 cyl electronic distributor installed in it & starts up & sounds great. Original am radio, dash is not cut up or butchered like a lot of these are. Good blue fabric seats. Seats were reupholstered a little while ago & still look good with no rips or tears. The car is painted two tone. White top & a light blue bottom. The first few pics is when the top was in grey primer but now the top is white as in the later pics. The paint was put on as a base coat to see where any scratches were or places that needed to be repaired were but it still looks good & could even be used as a daily driver in this condition. I have all the chrome side mouldings in the trunk of the car & most times the mouldings are the hardest pieces to find but i have them all & they are in good condition. It recently had a new water installed on it, new fan belt. new radiator hoses ,new clutch, pressure plate, new throw out bearing & new battery tray. It has all 4 -15 inch white wall tires & 2- blackwall spare tires. All the tires on the car & good & hold air. G78-15 It has all 4 chrome baby moon (dog dish) hubcaps with the chrome trims. It has a chrome gas door guard. These cars are getting harder & harder to find, especially the 2 door ones in good condition with all of the parts. I have had the car for years & had no intensions of selling it, but one of my other cars had a rip in the front bench seat & i wanted to get just the front seat repaired but they said that it wouldnt match with the back seats afterwards so I would have to get the front & back seats on my other car reupholstered. Wholly Batman ! ! ! ! ! I wanted the seats reupholstered, not brand new seats. The price that they wanted to do the seats is more than i had wanted for the 54, so I have to sell the 54 to be able to pay to get the seats done in my other car. The seas in the 54 are already done, so that alone plus all of the mouldings is well worth more than the price of the 54 chevy. Now the bad which is not really that bad. The headliner is there but it is dirty & has 2 rips in it. Both the drivers side door glass & drivers side rear glass have cracks in them but they both still roll up & down properly. The front widshield, back windshield & both passenger side glasses are all good. There is a hole in the passenger side front floor, small holes in the pass side rear floor & a home made patch on the drivers side front floor but i had bought all 3 pieces brand new & still have them in a box in the trunk. It has a brand new clutch, pressure plate & throw out bearing installed in it but the transmission does not engage. I dont know if the linkages are hooked up wrong or if the clutch was installed backwards but in any case, the clutch does not engage so the car does not move. There are no papers for the car. I will give you a signed notorized Bill of sale from me. The listing reads clear but there is no option for no title so it is being sold with a bill of sale only. It would make an excellent parts car or great hot rod or winter project. If in the Bronx area, you are more than welcome to come by & bring your mechanic to look over the car. Please ask any & all questions as soon as possible to give me time to get back to you. I will not answer any questions on the last day of the auction or after the auction is over. If you have less than 10 positive feedbacks, then please contact me before you bid on my item, otherwise, I will cancel your bid, block you from all of my future auctions & notify ebay on you. There is a 100.00 dollar pay pal deposit due within 24 hours after the auction end, no exceptions. The deposit must be paid before the car is picked up. The balance must be paid within 7 days of the auctions end. If you cant pay the deposit then i will notify ebay on you & relist the item. I read the book " computers for dummies" & could not figure it out, but i was still able to set up a pay pal account & able to pay deposits & send money online, so if I can do it, so can you. You can pick up the car anytime after the funds have cleared. If you need more time to pick up the car, then i can give you some extra time to pick it up but, if after 30 days after the clearance of your funds, then I will have to charge you storage. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. I will assist with loading of the vehicle onto your trailer or flatbed. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time as the car is also for sale here locally in the bronx. I have too many cars, & not enough time or money to fix them all. Please check back as I may be listing a 62 impala 4 dr & a 64 impala 4 dr .
NOW FOR THE SCAMMERS : : : : : NO, I will not cash your or your clients check & send you the balance back. If you want the car for your client, then you but it & sell it to them. I will not release the car till my bank clears the funds including bank checks , cashiers checks & certified checks.. . Im sorry if your truck happens to be in my neighborhood at the time. No, I will not ship the car to you overseas or anywhere & wait for you to send me the balance of the money. Shipping payment is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. I will assist with loading on this end but thats i

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
Now's the time to buy a cheap first-gen Chevy Volt
Fri, Sep 4 2015Would you fork over 18 grand and change for a new Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle? If so, there are some for the taking. Since the updated Volt is about ready to hit dealerships, current models have become a lot easier to afford. For some reason, it appears the best deals are in Iowa, recalling some sort of Field of Dreams-style whispering voice luring car shoppers to their first plug-in vehicle, according to EV Obsession. To wit, a couple of 2014 Volts with a sticker price in the $35,000 range are being offered for less than $26,000 in that Midwestern state. Factor in the $7,500 tax credit from the federal government, and the Volt can be had for less than the sticker price of a Toyota Prius C compact hybrid. Chevy started priming that particular pump earlier this year, though didn't appear to have a ton of success. This past spring, Chevrolet was offering some impressive lease deals on the Volt, with monthly payments dropping to less than $250. There's a reason buyers will want to wait for the second-generation Volt. The 2016 version will have a 53-mile all-electric range, up from the 38-mile range in the current version, along with 106 MPGe. Some will say that the style is improved as well, and the first-gen's touch-sensitive control panel was discarded for more buttons. Still, if you're more concerned about price than having the newest car on the lot, now's a good time to shop. And speaking of the current version, sales remain down substantially. Last month, Chevy moved 1,380 Volts, a 45-percent plunge from a year earlier. Through August, Volt sales were down 37 percent this year compared to 2014 numbers, to 8,315 units.
1983 Motorweek showdown pits Porsche 928S vs. Chevy Camaro Z28
Mon, Jan 12 2015Last month, Motor Trend threw the Camaro Z/28 and Porsche 911 GT3 into the bear pit and let them fight it out. Way back in 1983, MotorWeek had the same idea, comparing the Camaro Z/28 to the Porsche 928S. At the time, the Camaro was America's best selling sports coupe, the 928S was Porsche's top-of-the-line model that also had the highest top speed of any car sold here. And the price differential was even more stark then: $13,600 for the Camaro, $45,000 for the Porsche. That put the Z/28's cast-iron, 5.0-liter V8 with 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque against the all-aluminum 4.7-liter V8 with 234 hp and 263 lb-ft in the 928S. Even with that and the Camaro being 14 inches longer than the Porsche, the American was a surprising 40 pounds lighter than the German. The show took them to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to see how close a relative performance bargain could hang with a the German GT. Both had five-speed manual transmissions, but the high-speed corners and tight sections of Summit Point would test other handling variables, including the "bone-rattling" Camaro's solid rear axle and disc and drum brake setup vis-a-vis the four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension on the "firm-but-smooth" Porsche. Paradoxically, the larger disparity 22 years ago resulted in a closer result. Check out the video to see how the Summit was won.
