I love this truck so much, I bought another one!

It has been meticulously maintained. If you could close your eyes and drive this truck, you would think its brand new!

This is the Z66 package which means it has every available option.

There are no vibrations, shakes, or rattles! All maintenance that has been done has been written with permanent marker on the firewall - i.e. transmission flush, u-joints, fuel pump, etc...

  • Oil always changed early with Mobile 5w/30 and AC Delco oil filter.
  • The A/C blows ice cold on 95 degree days!
  • Interstate battery
  • 6-Disc factory BOSE sound w/ steering wheel controls
  • All 4 tires are BF Goodrich Long Trails, the fronts are new, and the rears are nearly new.
  • The front and rear brakes have low miles on them and high-end rotors and pads were used.
  • Stainless braided lines were installed by me to stiffen up the brake response.
  • The shocks are fairly new.
  • The black cladding is in great shape and is dark black and has a protective coating on it that should last for years.
  • No wrecks
  • No leaks
  • Non-smoker
  • Clean car report

It doesn't need it right away, but if you did a new set of plugs, transmission flush, and coolant flush, it will be ready to go for another 75,000-100,000 miles.

I am an active member on an Avalanche forum and lots of our forum members have well over 200,000 miles and several with over 300,000 miles on the original, trouble-free engine and transmission.

I would drive it anywhere! If you are interested in seeing it, call me at 225-590-5915; Brian

** It is listed locally in The Advocate newspaper.

2014 Chevrolet Cruze TD fires up its new diesel motor

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

Ever since General Motors confirmed plans to produce a diesel-powered Cruze back in 2011, we've been eagerly awaiting its arrival. And as part of the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Chevrolet has pulled back the cover on its oil-burning compact sedan, set to go on sale in the near future with a starting price of $25,695, not including $810 for destination.
The heart and soul of the Cruze TD (that's its official name) is a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel inline four-cylinder engine rated at 148 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, mated solely to a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine also has an overboost function that will increase torque to 280 lb-ft for up to ten seconds. The full brace of official specs haven't been released, but GM tells us that highway fuel economy will come in at 42 miles per gallon. If that number sounds familiar, it's because the Volkswagen Jetta TDI has the exact same rating. Unlike the Jetta, however, the Cruze TD can run on B20 biodiesel, where as the Volkswagen can only accept B5.
Model-specific changes to this 2014 Cruze TD include an aero kit and unique 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there's a full leather interior, and Chevrolet will provide two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, not to mention a 100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
