1984 Cadillac Seville Rolls Royce Grill Package on 2040-cars
Hackettstown, New Jersey, United States
Hello Ebay,
I have my family owned 1984 Cadillac Seville Touring Edition with Rolls package grill. This was my grandmothers car it was purchased by her in 1984 and then placed in my grandfathers name in 1987 when she remarried..The vehicle has 80,000 miles that she put on over the course of 28 years. When she stopped driving it was covered and put in the garage in the back yard and it sat for the past year. The property was just sold and I had to take the car out of storage and do not have a good home for it. I have the original title still from 1987 in hand and original owners manual , keys and repair manual. All of the work was always performed by the same local repair shop since 1987. ENGINE: The car is running great she starts right up with no problems. There are no leaks , no knocks , no ticks or any smoke of any kind. All of the fluids are at there proper levels. The catylitic converter and the exhaust back was replaced two years ago and in great shape. The engine bay is fairly clean and in great shape. All of the hoses and wires are in great shape. I just replaced the battery last year as well and is perfect condition. TRANSMISSION: The trans shifts perfectly and goes through all of the gears as it should. There is no clunking or slamming or shipping of gears. The trans fluid is nice and clean. SUSPENSION: The suspension is in great shape with no sagging or swaying. The level ride control works properly and the vehicle sits very nicely with no funny rattles or sounds. BRAKES AND TIRES: Brakes front and back were done two years ago and all four tires BRAND NEW on the vehicle with no leaks , dry rotting or cracks. INTERIOR: The interior is still in very nice original condition. The leather shows very nicely with no fading cracking or tears. The carpeting is in great shape as well as the dash and everything else. The headliner is starting to sag in one spot and will eventually need attention. All of the accessories work as they should. Fully loaded power windows, power mirrors, power door locks, power seats, power passenger , cruise control, tilt/ telescopic steering wheel, power antenna, digital dash, fuel economy computer and stereo all working properly. all of the gauges read correctly as well. The only thing that needs attention for accessories is the AC needs to be recharged. The system is working properly I gaurantee and was replaced two years ago. EXTERIOR: The exterior is in very good condition. No rust anywhere on the body and all of the chrome is in perfect shape with ZERO pitting from the grill to the door handles and the chrome on the door sills and mud flaps. The bumper fillers on the rear will need to be replaced as well as one square on the driver side very cheap replacement I have found them on here below $200 already. The floors are all solid as well as the frame. The doors and door jams are free of any rest and the paint still shows nicely. ELECTRICAL: I have gone over all of the electrical on the car and everything is in proper working order. All of the gauges , lights , bulbs , turn signals , wipers , power door , power seats etc are all working as they should. Overall its a nice car and can be test driven in my parking lot. I have not put the vehicle on the road yet as I did not want to add anymore owners to the title history but I have a large enough parking lot for you to check it out properly. It just needs a few little odds and ends but nothing that needs attention to be driven now. It still has current inspection and passed with no problems last year. I have tried to list this classic the best I could. I have a perfect user feedback score and always try to be as honest as I can... THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! Cadillac, Daimler execs take swipes at Tesla
Tue, Apr 22 2014Despite the financial ties between Daimler and Tesla Motors, at least one Mercedes exec thinks the electric automaker doesn't have a bright future. And over at Cadillac, the message is that Tesla doesn't pose a threat but offers the luxury arm of General Motors more of classroom experience. The Mercedes story runs like this. Mercedes-Benz USA president and CEO, Steve Cannon, said at the New York Auto Show last week that Tesla has "no network" and only offers "little shops that don't have service capacity." He also said: "Folks are buying a Tesla now because they're kind of cool, but if you're a Tesla buyer, you have to have multiple cars. With Mercedes, you have a whole network. You've got no worries. ... Tesla is great, but you've got plenty of well-established brands that mean luxury, like Porsche or Mercedes-Benz, and how long do you think we're going to wait and let Tesla be out there alone [selling premium electric cars]?" "Treehuggers do not buy new luxury cars" – Uwe Ellinghaus For Cadillac's global chief marketing officer, Uwe Ellinghaus, Tesla's EV success represents little other than "a great opportunity and a learning exercise for all of us, and will help us traditional manufacturers to think twice about electric mobility." He added that, "I am not afraid of Tesla. ... There is no willingness to really sacrifice on the traditional qualities of a luxury car. These are not cars for treehuggers, as treehuggers do not buy new luxury cars." Ellinghaus made the comments during a panel discussion at the 2014 Automotive Forum. Perhaps the lesson of Tesla's offer of free Supercharging to Model S owners is what led to Cadillac to recently announce a deal with Chargepoint that gives ELR drivers access to that company's 16,500 charging stations. Read more details on that below. Cadillac and ChargePoint Bring EV Customer Luxury Driving Experience World's largest, most open electric vehicle charging network available to ELR drivers 2014-04-16 NEW YORK – Cadillac today announced a partnership with ChargePoint, the largest and most open electric vehicle-charging network in the world. The collaboration brings Cadillac ELR drivers immediate access to more than 16,500 charging locations on the ChargePoint network. The ELR electrified luxury coupe went on sale at the end of 2013. It embodies Cadillac's Art & Science design philosophy, combining provocative design with progressive technology.
Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
Man trapped in Cadillac XLR for 14 hours after battery dies
Thu, Sep 13 2018A 75-year old Cleveland man ended up trapped in his 2006 Cadillac XLR for 14 hours last month, according to a story reported by the Detroit Free Press. The owner of the car, Peter Pyros, hopped into his roadster to back out onto his driveway, but he quickly learned that the battery was dead. He was "trapped" because the doors use an electric button to activate the door latch to open the door. Since the battery was dead, the buttons did nothing. Now, GM planned for an eventuality like this by placing a manual door release handle on the ground next to the seat. It's marked with a red diagram of the driver-side door opening. There's also a section about it in the owner's manual. The only problem here, was that Pyros says he didn't know the release was there, and he didn't have his owner's manual in the car. Because of this, Pyros may not have made it out alive if not for a neighbor coming to his rescue. "I came to the conclusion that I was going to die ... I was at peace with it. I asked God to help me twice, then I said, 'OK, God if this is the way I'm supposed to die, I will die,'" Pyros said to reporters. There's every chance he could have died in the car, too. Temperatures in Cleveland hit 77 degrees the day he was in the car, and he said it was unbearably hot and difficult to breathe after only 30 minutes sealed inside. Pyros reportedly tried yelling, pounding on and even trying to break the car's windows without success. At one point, Pyros wrote a note to his nephew explaining what happened if he ended up dying. What eventually saved him was a curious neighbor who came to investigate after he noticed his garage door was still open late at night. His neighbor called the police after he found him in the car, and emergency personnel actually ended up charging his car's battery up enough to get the electric door release to work. Of course, after everything settled down, there are now lawyers involved. They're going after GM, with an argument accusing the automaker of not making the emergency latch more obvious both in the car and in the owner's manual. GM doesn't appear to be having any of it. Here's its statement on the matter: "Because this varies by make and model, drivers should review the door lock section of their owner's manual, and follow up with their dealer or customer assistance center if they have any questions," GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson wrote to the Free Press. This type of door release isn't particularly uncommon for GM vehicles.
