1977 Cadillac Seville with less than 20,000 Miles! This Cadillac Seville was purchased from the original owner in Arizona with less than 18,000 Miles. As such, it had absolutely no rust! Likewise, the car had no dents, dings or major scratches. However, the paint was really awful! If you remember, most of the paint used in that era was total crap! In 1976, the Seville was the first GM car to receive the new multi-step lacquer with a clear lacquer topcoat. This car was no different and even had the dealer re-spray done under warranty that was also failing! This Seville has received a new paint refinishing. I say "refinishing" because all trim was removed, prior to application of the Galsurit Color Coat/Clear Coat paint to minimize tape edges and avoid future problem. Even the front fenders and hood were completely removed and stripped and painted separately. In addition, I was able to procure a completely new vinyl top of the original material and also had it replaced. Where possible, NOS parts were used or the originals refinished. The Chrome is original and is truly outstanding. Even the anodized aluminum trim on the windshield still sparkles like new. The original interior light grey broad cloth (not velour) is completely spotless. The only flaws on the interior are a crack in the steering wheel (which I am currently having repaired) and a very minor crack in the upper dash (please see pictures) That's it! This Car needs nothing having had a recent full servicing of all it's Fluids and Filters and comes with a wealth of features and options above the very extensive standard equipment. ...and it all works perfectly! Standard equipment for the 1977 Seville included: 5,7 liter (350 cu.in.) Fuel Injected V8 Engine; Four Wheel Disk Brakes; Automatic Climate Control Air Conditioning; AM/FM Stereo Radio with Automatic Power Antenna, Fuel Monitor System (fuel economy lights on dish... amber and green); Automatic Level Control; Power Door Locks and Windows; Rear Window Defroster: Cornering Lights; Variable Ratio Power Steering; 50/50 front seats with six way Power Adjustment for driver's side; Two way power passenger seat with Manual Recliner; Full Vinyl Roof; Remote Left and Right Exterior Rear View Mirrors; Remote Trunk Release: Inside Hood Release, Automatic Parking Brake Release: Soft Ray Tinted Glass (all windows) In Addition, This Seville came with: Limited Slip Rear Differential; 3.08 ratio rear differential gear ( this is an altitude/towing/performance option that really improves the response on the car); Heavy Duty Cooling System ( Arizona... remember?): AM/FM Eight Track Stereo, Deluxe Wire Wheel Covers; ( I have the Turbine wheel covers as well and will sell them separately if desired) ; Illuminated Entry System; Power Trunk Lid Pull Down; Lighted Vanity Mirror; Six Way Power seat Adjuster for Passenger side; Door Edge Guards (included in the sale but not installed because I try to be careful and they look sub-optimal in my opinion); Carpeted Floor Mats; Guide-Matic Headlamp Control (really cool the way it lowers and raises the high beams!); Cruise Control; Automatic Door Locks (locks all doors when transmission selector is in anything but park); Twilight Sentinel (turns the lights on automatically at dusk); License Frame ( try and find an original one). Cadillac cancels sponsorship of Trump's PGA event
Thu, Jun 2 2016Cadillac has ended its sponsorship of the PGA's World Golf Championship, which has incited a response from Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. Without the automaker's money to run the event at a property owned by Trump in Miami, the PGA announced it will move the WGC to Mexico City. Trump responded by saying, "Cadillac's been a great sponsor, but they're moving it to Mexico. They're moving it to Mexico City which, by the way, I hope they have kidnapping insurance. They're moving it to Mexico City. And I'm saying, you know, what's going on here? It is so sad when you look at what's going on with our country." In 2010, the PGA announced a multi-year deal with Cadillac to sponsor the WGC, starting in 2011. Since 2007, the event has been held at what is now known as the Trump National Doral Miami location. Trump took ownership of the property in 2012. Cadillac issued a statement to Autoblog that says: "We are proud to have been the title sponsor of the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship since 2011. We have made the decision, however, not to extend our sponsorship beyond this year. We thank the PGA TOUR for a great six years with the Cadillac Championship." Cadillac Super Cruise, a hands-off review
Fri, Oct 6 2017Cadillac Super Cruise won't let you eat breakfast behind the wheel, climb in the back seat or any of the other stupid human tricks displayed on YouTube by Tesla owners. It even won't allow the car to change lanes on its own, like Tesla Autopilot. But it's a big step on the road to full autonomy, a huge convenience on long-distance road trips and a substantial technological triumph for Cadillac. In the simplest terms, Super Cruise is a lane-centering enhancement to adaptive cruise control (ACC). But Super Cruise is anything but simple. Its technical complexity — hence its long delay after first being unveiled five years ago — belies its straightforward operation and intuitive user interface, which I discovered on an almost 750-mile, 11-hour drive in a 2018 Cadillac CT6 between Dallas and Santa Fe to test the system. LOADS OF LIMITATIONS First, let's dispense with the details and disclaimers. Super Cruise is standard on the 2018 CT6 Platinum and a $5,000 option on other trim levels. Because Super Cruise is supported by OnStar — an OnStar operator will call to find out if first responders need to be sent in a worst-case scenario — a three-year OnStar Super Cruise Package is included with the system. Super Cruise has loads of limitations that are probably more concerning to GM's legal counsel than they were to me during my long drive. Some are no-brainers, such as not for use in construction zones or for driving on the shoulder. But the system can also be stymied by adverse weather, poor visibility and faded lane markings. Super Cruise only works on freeways with on and off ramps and a center divider. ACC and forward collision warning also need to be engaged, and the system's cameras and radar sensors can't be obstructed. To keep drivers from looking away from the road for too long — and to keep the system active — an infrared camera on top of the steering column keeps an electronic eye on the driver's seat. GM has over 100 patents alone on this Driver Attention System, including an algorithm that triangulates the nose, eyes and ears in case the camera can't see through sunglasses to make sure you're not nodding off. In addition to the car's visible sensors, another major component of the system is something you don't see: mapping software. But not the kludgy kind that powers in-dash navigation systems.
