2002 Cadillac Escalade on 2040-cars

Up for auction is one black 2002 Cadillac Escalade 4-door SUV with Pewter Grey interior. Vehicle has a cassette player, 6-disc CD changer, sunroof and power everything. Leather seats are in fair condition with a small rip along the lower seam of the drivers seat...all seats except the 3rd row are nicely heated for those New England winters, and this is an extremely comfortable car as one would expect from Cadillac. The body is rust free with a few assorted paint scratches but no serious dings although the drivers side door plastic trim has a small divot near the hinge. Engine is clean and the drivetrain is a solid rig, never a problem in the snow with the Stabilitrac system. Is currently registered and insured with an inspection done in late April 2014 and an oil change as well. The carpet has some serious stains but is mostly hidden by some custom mats anyways. This vehicle is not my daily driver and has not been ridden hard, and would make an excellent entry-level purchase for a luxury SUV. The sunroof and passenger side windows are a little finicky sometimes which must be due to a bad ground somewhere...everything else on the same fused circuit works fine. Vehicle is currently on the local Craigslist as well and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time.

Jeep Twitter account hacked, bad language, poor grammar and some hilarity ensue
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Just a day after Burger King's Twitter account was compromised by "unauthorized users," Jeep's social media feed has been similarly hacked. Both instances of digital incursion share some similarities - the BK hackers changed the company's logo for McDonald's familiar golden arches, saying a sale had occurred, while the Jeep miscreants have replaced Jeep's branding with that of General Motors property Cadillac.
The resulting tweets from the damaged Jeep account have been a pretty brutal, to put it bluntly. Most of the content coming from the hacked account is unpublishable here, using language that is peppered with racial epithets, and poorly worded "shout outs."
In addition to the defamatory tweets themselves, the hackers have significantly altered the layout of the page. Jeep's header image now features a picture of the Cadillac ATS to go along with the Wreath and Crest, some language calling out that car as winning the 2013 North American Car of the Year award, and this gem: "The official Twitter handle for the Jeep(R) - Just Empty Every Pocket, Sold To Cadillac =[" Also, perhaps in an ode to yesterday's Burger King heist, the background image for the page now features a McDonald's-themed donk. The devil's in the details, we guess.
Cadillac tipped to call flagship something other than LTS
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Cadillac wouldn't be Cadillac without large sedans in its lineup, and while the XTS has had to hold down that end of the fort all on its own, it won't have to for too long. That's because the luxury brand in the General Motors portfolio is preparing to roll out its new LTS, stylistically previewed by the Elmiraj concept pictured above. Only now, the latest thinking is that the upcoming flagship model may not be called LTS at all.
As Automotive News points out, Cadillac's naming scheme is all over the place at the moment. The ATS slotting below the CTS makes sense (alphabetically), but where do the ELR, SRX and especially the Escalade fit into that naming hierarchy? And how would LTS - as the project has been known until now - sit above the XTS?
Fortunately, Cadillac may be on the case, as two of the division's most recent senior appointments seem keen to rationalize the naming scheme. One is Uwe Ellinghaus, who joined Cadillac as chief marketing officer late last year. Speaking of the brand's nomenclature last spring, Ellinghaus was quoted as saying, "We are aware that this is currently a weakness of the Cadillac brand." And his new boss is bound to agree.
Watch the 2014 Cadillac CTS get its groove on in the rain
Sun, 31 Mar 2013In case you haven't got enough of the 2014 Cadillac CTS that just debuted at the New York Auto Show, Cadillac has let us have some rolling footage of the car around its test track along with a few words from VP of marketing Don Butler and executive director of design Mark Adams.
You won't learn much more about its 420-horsepower, twin-turbo V6 but you can hear how it growls in the rain, and you can get a better idea of how you'll look in the driver's seat giving it a workout. That's got to be worth something, right? You'll find both videos just below.
