You've seen the rest. Now you are looking at one of the best. If you are in the market for one of these late model Eldorados, you will be hard-pressed to find a cleaner, nicer one. This beauty is dealer serviced, and in excellent condition.

This White Diamond Tricoat painted 1997 Eldorado Touring Coupe has 67,450 original miles, and has been extremely well taken care of. It has a 32 valve, 300HP Northstar V8 and 4 speed automatic transmission. Power windows and door locks. I installed the updated stereo with CD player from the 99' model, and added an iPod module which connects thru the factory 12 disc cd changer, and interfaces with the radio and steering wheel controls. I am the second owner. The car is immaculate and a daily driver.

The car is in perfect working order. Everything works, including the AC (which was recently serviced).

The interior is immaculate. The windows were just tinted, and I recently paid over $2,000 to have the front seats and center console reupholstered with fresh leather. I had custom Cadillac crest emblems embroidered in the headrests.

The body, aside from a few minor scratches, is immaculate as well, and the White Diamond Paint shines bright.

I recently had all four wheels re-chromed, including matching Vogue caps at Martin Cadillac.

Under the hood, the 32 valve 300HP Northstar purrs.

I have recently replaced, all with all genuine GM parts (except as noted below):
*AC Delco Battery
*Both belts
*Radiator hoses, radiator flush, thermostat
*Fuel filter
*Transmission service
*Tune up: Platinum spark plugs, spark plug wires
*Mobil 1 oil change. The car does not leak oil!
*I also installed a new K&N air filter
*(4) new Vogue Wide Trac Touring Gold Stripe Tires (inflated with Nitrogen)
*Front and rear brakes - Pads AND Rotors
*Both front electronic struts (which retail over $1000 each)

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have to sell this beauty. However, I will hold on to it until the right person and bid comes along. Serious inquiries only. I have over $10,000 invested in the car, so please no low balls. I'm already making a sacrifice.

There are a lot of these cars still out there, but few as clean and beautiful, with such low mileage, and dependable as this one.

GM posts $4 billion third-quarter profit thanks to trucks and SUVs

    Thu, Nov 5 2020

DETROIT — General Motors is posting huge third quarter numbers, pulling in $4 billion in profit over three months after losing money due to the virus outbreak. GM's adjusted earnings were $2.83 per share, easily outpacing Wall Street's per-share projections of $1.43, according to a survey by FactSet. Revenue of $35.5 billion also edged out most expectations. Shares jumped almost 6% before the opening bell Thursday. The company swung back from a $806 million loss in the second quarter, when it was restarting factories shuttered for safety during the early stages of the pandemic. The Detroit automaker joined most global automakers in reporting better-than-expected earnings from July through September as sales across the globe started to rebound from coronavirus lockdowns, especially in China. GM sales in China jumped 12% in the third quarter, with sales of its Buick and Cadillac brands both rising more than 25%. In the U.S., GMÂ’s most profitable market, sales fell 9.9% in the third quarter compared with a year ago, but were a dramatic improvement over the 34% drop in the second quarter. Sales improved sequentially each month, the automaker said, an encouraging trend. GMÂ’s profit was boosted by higher-priced pickup trucks and large SUVs, which have seen strong sales in the U.S. through the pandemic. It was the best quarter on record for GM's Chevrolet Blazer. Sales of the Cadillac XT6 spiked 45% in the U.S. over last year. Large pickups also sold well. GM also said it was pumping $2 billion into its Spring Hill, Tennessee manufacturing plant to push its transition to produce electric vehicles. Last week, crosstown rivals Fiat Chrysler and Ford reported strong third-quarter net income. FCA said it made $1.4 billion for the period, while Ford earned $2.39 billion. Junkyard Gem: 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special Sedan

    Sat, May 30 2020

If you lived in North America in 1967 and you wanted to show the neighbors you'd clawed your way to the peak of the success pyramid, only one car would do: Cadillac Fleetwood. Today's Junkyard Gem is 4,685 pounds of General Motors luxury hardware, finally knocked off the road at age 53 by an unfortunate wreck and now residing in a Denver self-service wrecking yard. The Cadillac brand endured some rough years during the 1970s and 1980s, but rode high during the 1960s. The Fleetwood Sixty Special Sedan started at $6,423 in 1967, or just over $50,000 when figured using inflation-adjusted 2020 dollars. A Mercedes-Benz 250SE sedan set you back $6,385 that year, but it weighed barely half as much and packed just 148 horses against the Cad's 340. Really, you had to get a genuine Rolls-Royce to out-swank the Fleetwood-driving Joneses back then (the Lincoln Continental and Imperial didn't have quite the snob appeal at that time), and the Roller cost more than several Fleetwoods combined. This car has been around during its long life. On the windshield, we see 1980 and 1981 parking stickers from the Keeneland Club in Kentucky. This car was already 13 years old by that time, but still very classy. At some point, the car must have migrated to California. Here's a U.C. Berkeley sticker. This ancient In-N-Out sticker comes from the Southern California-only era of the famous hamburger chain. Sometimes it's tough to determine the reasons that an old car ended up in a place like this, but that's not a problem here. Let's hope the car's occupants had their belts on (lap belts only in 1967, but still better than nothing), because these old Detroit land yachts didn't have much in the way of energy-absorbing crumple zones. The paint and interior are quite rough, so this car depreciated from being worth perhaps a couple of grand to scrap value in an instant.  Cruise control was a very rare option in 1967, and this car has it. The famous Fleetwood triple-tone horns were still there when I got to this car. Under the hood, 429 cubic inches (7.0 liters) of super-smooth Cadillac pushrod V8. This engine grew to 472 and then 500 cubic inches during the following few years. The paint shows some great patina. Did I buy the horns? Of course I bought the horns — I always bring my trusty lightweight junkyard toolbox when I head out to shoot some Junkyard Gems. Related Video:

How the demise of Lincoln's Town Car has kick-started a limo revolution

    Sun, 30 Dec 2012

The deaths of the Ford Crown Victoria and the Lincoln Town Car have meant overhauls of three high-profile American fleets: police, taxi and livery car. Just as police fleets are more open to considering other options and a Nissan van is the new face of the NYC taxi, livery car companies are looking at replacements for the Town Car beyond The Blue Oval. Ford, via Lincoln, has made an MKT Town Car (pictured), but an article in the Detroit News claims "it has failed to win over most of the big limousine companies." The upstarts trying to move in include livery and limo editions of the Cadillac XTS, and livery specifications of the Toyota Avalon and Chrysler 300.
Each of those challengers, however, faces challenges. The Town Car was a workhorse, American, rear-wheel-drive sedan with plenty of rear legroom. Cadillac has been in the livery space before but with decontented models that were about selling the brand, not its luxury. It is taking the opposite approach with the XTS, pointing out that its livery edition is "contented in the upper half of the XTS range." Still, the CEO of Michigan's largest livery company says "it's quite a bit smaller than what we're used to," and he also prefers rear-wheel drive.
The Chrysler 300 is rear-wheel drive, and American, which matters to some companies, but Chrysler hasn't yet revealed the livery package for it. The livery Avalon marks Toyota's first time getting into that business in the US, a natural step after having done so well with taxi clients and with the Town Car out of the way. Still, the livery client is a different to taxi buyers, so the Avalon could face other soft-touch hurdles.
