1974 Caddy Eldo convertible up for auction with only 65k miles.
Engine, 500 V8 with automatic transmission. Options include disc brakes, telescoping and tilt steering wheel, 60/40 split power bench seat, twilight sentinel / auto dimming lights, power trunk release and power trunk pull down. including am/ fm auto-seek stereo with tape player. Mechanical: Caddy runs nice and quiet. The a/c (blows warm), the cruise control needs a new rubber "bellows" to work again. Cosmetic: convertible top replaced , top goes up and down easily with the push of a button, no help necessary. Power windows work well, Interior is like new as seen in the pix. The door panels and rear panels are also like new. The dashboard is perfect, no cracks anywhere. The carpet is in good shape and has no rips or bare spots. The Caddy paint shines and looks great for 40 year old car with only small imperfection’s . The chrome bumpers are in great shape, no pitting or fading. When you look at, get into and drive this car it's clear that's she's always been treated with love. She's roadworthy, all directional/brake/turn signal/headlights work, even the cool multi-color fender indicators. Engine always starts easily. Cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road perfectly, 8.0 liter V8 moves this big caddy easily up the highway with LOTS of power. The Caddy tracks straight as an arrow and brakes evenly, no pulling or fading. She idles perfectly and the suspension is luxurious. T he Eldo is almost spotless underneath; floors and trunk completely solid. This is the last year the Eldorado had rear fender skirts. Overall, drives like an American classic luxury car should. 2014 Cadillac ELR

A few years ago, Audi Of America's boss Johan de Nysschen went on record describing the Chevrolet Volt as "a car for idiots." Fast-forward to earlier this summer, and the well-regarded executive suddenly found himself in a new office with new business cards bearing the title: President, Cadillac. That means that among other challenges, de Nysschen is now tasked with selling the ELR, a car that is, at its core, a Volt in a sportier, less utile frock wearing a price tag that's twice as expensive.
Frankly, it's not a prospect we imagine the South African executive and recent Infiniti boss relishes. Just about nobody is buying the ELR - Cadillac has sold but 774 examples of its plug-in hybrid coupe this year and it presently has an almost a 200-day supply according to Automotive News. What's more, those numbers actually represent big improvements over just a few months ago, before GM started heaping on the incentives. The cynic in us says that the bad news for De Nysschen is that he's got a borderline sales-proof car in his new corporate garage. The good news? Cadillac customers apparently aren't idiots.
GM claims it's first to sell million 30+ mpg vehicles
Fri, 04 Jan 2013As we continue to put together all the data for the year-end edition of By The Numbers, General Motors has announced that it sold more than a million vehicles in the US last year that achieved at least 30 miles per gallon on the highway. More impressively, GM managed this feat using multiple strategies including small vehicle size, turbocharged engines and hybrid or plug-in technologies across four brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC) accounting for 13 separate models. This number will grow even more in 2013 thanks to cars like the all-electric Spark, the diesel Cruze, the range-extended Cadillac ELR and the Buick Encore compact CUV.
GM's small car sales were up 39 percent last year helping to attain this million-sales mark for 30-mpg models, and almost 40 percent of all GM sales consisted of cars with fuel-efficient I4 engines. In regards to more advanced means of improving fuel economy, GM says that it plans on having 500,000 vehicles with "some form of electrification" on the road by 2017.

Cadillac ATS to go racing in 2015 as CTS.V.R replacement
Thu, 21 Aug 2014Cadillac has been racking up victories with the CTS.V.R in Pirelli World Challenge racing for two model generations now, including recent GT class championships in 2012 and 2013. However, even winning racers eventually have to retire, and it looks like the CTS may be taking a bow at the end of the season. In its place, Caddy is reportedly working on a new racecar based on the ATS Coupe, and it might even get to compete internationally.
According to Racer, Pratt & Miller Engineering is leading the development and is already lapping the ATS racecar in Michigan for testing. It reportedly drops the CTS' V8 in favor of a twin-turbocharged V6 powering the rear wheels. Since this is the same team behind the hugely successful Corvette Racing program and the current CTS.V.R, the latest car appears to be in good hands.
The new model would also adhere to GT3 rules, according to Racer, and that might signal a big change for Cadillac's motorsports program. It means that the ATS could be sold to teams in the numerous series around the world that accept these vehicles. That would broaden the luxury coupe's exposure and put it up against GT3 racecars from premium brands, like Bentley, Porsche and McLaren. If it wins, the change could be a marketing bonanza for the brand.
