1973 Cadillac Coupe Deville Low Miles, Original on 2040-cars

Year:1973 Mileage:40400 Color: needs some attention
Location:

Please watch my youtube video which has a brief walk around the car and discusses some of the details. Here is the link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_P8TjQInmk

I am selling my 1973 Cadillac Coupe Deville. I want to be perfectly clear and if anything under-represent this car because the last thing I want to do is sell something to someone and have them think it is one thing and it be another.

As you can see in the video the car is in nice shape and is original. I wouldn't go as far as to say that the car needs a restoration, however the exterior needs some attention. The car has ~40,000 miles. It was purchased in 1973 in Rhinelander, WI from Birginal Pontiac Cadillac. I have a bunch of old paperwork that goes with the car and it is very interesting to look through it all. I am the third owner of this car. I purchased it in the summer of 2011. It had about 37,000 miles on it when I picked it up. I bought it from the 2nd owners in Rhinelander, WI. The 2nd owners knew the original owners and purchased the car from their estate sale back around 1999. I love this car and it really is a fine car. I would like to hang onto it however, I have come to the realization that I do not have the time or excess funds to do the things that I want with it (paint job, minor body work, etc. etc.). So I figured I will let someone else take that project on. The car runs very strong. It cruises on the highway and really rides smoothly. When you start it, the car runs smooth, there is no color to the exhaust.. I have never had to add oil or anything like that between oil changes, but as you can imagine...a 41 year old car will leak a drop or two here or there. As I noted in the video, I have 100% confidence in driving this car ANYWHERE. I drove it 60+ mile round trips for days at a time to work and back when my everyday driver was being serviced. It is fun to drive and very reliable. The car shifts very smoothly and brakes well. I would say that this car needs nothing done to it mechanically and could be picked up and driven home anywhere. As seen in the youtube video, there is a trim piece on the front under the headlights that has cracked and come loose. Here are some of the car details:
7.7L V8, Auto, Power windows/locks/seats

Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you want to see the car. I can be reached by phone or email.  I can face time on iphone or ipad if you want to look over the car via video chat.

Cadillac considering more engines, Vsport model for Escalade

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Want to roll in the latest Cadillac Escalade? You can get it with a 6.2-liter V8... or a 6.2-liter V8. Cadillac only offers the one engine option. But that may soon change.
According to the latest from Automotive News, Cadillac is contemplating a couple of new powertrain options for its blingin' big ute. The report suggests a twin-turbo V6 and a V6 turbodiesel could be offered, and that Cadillac could create a Vsport version of the Escalade like it offers on the new CTS sedan.
The more diverse engine offerings would help attract buyers from the new Lincoln Navigator, its prime competitor, which switched from a 5.4-liter V8 this year to a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. The turbo V6 engines (both gasoline and diesel) would also help Cadillac market the Escalade overseas - particularly in Europe, where higher fuel prices preclude the prospect of driving a big V8 SUV for many buyers. Escalade sales have dropped from 35-40k units in the mid-2000s to around 12,000 the past couple of years.

Opel director Sedran to succeed Docherty as Chevy Europe boss

Wed, 26 Jun 2013

When longtime General Motors executive Susan Docherty announced she would be stepping down from her post as the head of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe, there was some idle chatter that plans for the creation of a new global overseer position for the Bowtie brand was behind the move. And while US sales chief Alan Batey has indeed assumed control of Chevy worldwide since her departure announcement, Docherty's vacancy is being filled after all, with Opel chief strategist Thomas Sedran taking up the reins.
That's according to Automotive News, who reports that Sedran will be tasked with pulling Chevy out of a sales funk, much of it pegged on Europe's stagnant auto industry, which has sunk to a 20-year low. AN notes that Chevy's EU sales plunged 32 percent to 57,584 units through the first five months of 2013, but the everyday value brand is faring worlds better than Cadillac, which has sold just 167 units in Europe over the same time period.
Sedran, 48, has been in the auto industry for over 20 years. Most recently, at Opel he had been working on long-term plans for the marque, and was appointed to the brand's management board in April of last year. Prior to joining GM, Sedran was employed as a management consultant for AlixPartners, where he worked closely with Opel for six years. Sedran will assume his new duties beginning July 1.

2015 Cadillac Escalade is exactly what you expect [w/video]

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

Leading up to the debut of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, we were told that the new luxo-SUV would be "much less ostentatious" and that we could expect greater differentiation from its Chevy Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon siblings. And while those things may be true to some extent, after digesting the full raft of Escalade information and photography, we can say that this new 2015 model is exactly what we were expecting all along.
No, there isn't a single part of the new Escalade package makes us go "wow" or "ooh," but it still looks like a solid, nicely updated offering that will surely attract the same sort of baller status when it hits the road. For starters, the new front end has been completely redesigned, where cleaner, tauter lines work with the full-LED headlamps and running lamps to create a face that, while familiar, falls right in line with the rest of Cadillac's lineup. Around the sides, the shape is exactly the same as the rest of the SUV's platform mates, with better-fitting body panels and a handsome, upright design. Of course, 20-inch wheels are standard, and hifalutin' 22-inch rollers are available (in chrome, we assume). Things get really interesting around back, where full-LED taillamps extend from the bumper all the way up to the top of the tailgate, and - like the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon - the rear window wiper has been integrated into the top of the hatch for a cleaner look. It all looks pretty modern and good, but doesn't really tone down the otherwise flashiness of the Escalade package.
Like its predecessor, the new Escalade will be available in standard- and extended-wheelbase formats (bring on the EXT!). Only one engine is available: GM's 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8, good for 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Both two- and four-wheel drive configurations will be offered, and the new Escalade should be a bit better to drive than the previous model, with a new coil-over front suspension and five-link rear setup, a wider track, variable-assist electric power steering and Cadillac's Magnetic Ride Control system with Tour and Sport modes.
