First off, I am listing this car for my father who is the 3rd owner and has owned it since the early 90's. He is available for questions and I encourage you to ask any prior to bidding. All questions need to be sent through the contact seller option. Up for auction is a 1968 Cadillac De Ville Convertible. Like I said above he is the 3rd owner of this car and the previous owner bought it in 69. This car is what we would call a "survivor w/paint" as the paint was freshened up in the 90's with minor body work performed, dings and such taken out. The car has zero rust including the original floorboards. In fact it has the original carpet and floor mats are still in it. The original leather seats are in great shape, and there is factory AM/FM radio in an uncut dash. Paint is shiny and glossy and the original chrome still glistens in the sun. The car has all of the Cadillac options you would expect with power everything and A/C. The original top was just replaced last year and a fresh set of tires installed. The convertible top boot looks like brand new and may have never even been on the car until my dad bought it. Previous owners had it stored under cover and dad has had it in a garage for the entire time he has owned it. There are only 84,050 original miles on this piece of American Classic Luxury. It has a 472cu in V-8 motor and a turbo 400 automatic transmission. A fresh battery has just been installed and the car runs and drives like a Cadillac should. The stiff punishments are part of broader transportation legislation, but clearly McCaskill has automakers in her sights.
Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill threw down the gauntlet this week, proposing a bill that could send auto executives to prison for life if they were found to have delayed a recall. She also wants to eliminate the limit for fines for auto safety violations, which are currently capped at $35 million.

Tue, 15 Jan 2013The Cadillac design and engineering teams were smiling like a bunch of proud papas here in Detroit this morning, as the Wreath and Crest crew pulled the curtain back on their 2014 ELR. The house was packed for the ELR's coming out party, and reaction was enthusiastic amongst the murmuring media, as far as we could gather, while the flashes were firing.
In fact, we think that the sleek styling and aggressive proportions of the Voltec-powered ELR looked even better in the metal than they did in the first official images we saw earlier. Further, the leather-lined interior seems custom made for serious driving, even if the ELR is slightly less than rocket-ship quick.
The new Cadillac makes good use of the basic running gear from the Chevrolet Volt, including the 1.4-liter range-extending gas engine, a 15.6-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and an electric drive motor that offers 295 pound-feet of torque, and a total system output of 207 horsepower. All-electric range is down by just one mile versus its Chevrolet forebearer, for a total of 35, and Cadillac speculates that the total range with the gasoline generator figured in will top 300 miles.
Cadillac abandons plans for six-digit flagship sedan
Mon, 01 Jul 2013So much for that party. Cadillac has announced that it is walking away from plans to build a high-dollar, rear-wheel-drive ultraluxury sedan. The low-volume model would have been based on the lusty Ciel Concept, and the production iteration would have carried a price tag well over $100,000. Executives with the automaker reportedly claim the model wouldn't have bolstered the brand enough to be worth the investment.
Even so, Automotive News reports Cadillac is still on track to build a range-topping four-door to go head-to-head with the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. That model will likely be constructed on the company's upcoming Omega rear-wheel-drive platform, but we won't see it bow until at least 2016. Right now, the front-wheel-drive XTS sits at the top of the Cadillac lineup, and while that machine and it's twin-turbocharged V6 variant makes a compelling argument against certain luxury entries, it falls short serving as a legitimate competitor for the likes of the 7 Series and S-Class for enthusiast drivers.
