1961 Cadillac Deville Base Sedan 4-door 6.4l on 2040-cars

Up for sale is my beautiful 1961 Cadillac sedan DeVille. I hate to get rid of it but unfortunately I have other obligations and my loss is your gain. To start, this is an all original 1961 Deville with just over 56,000 original miles on it. Comes standard with the 390cid V8 package that includes A/C, AM radio, leather/cloth interior matching the body paint (gold/white), wide white wall tires, and power windows. The vehicle is equipped with A/C, however at the time of this listing, it is inoperative. Everything is there, but I just not have had a chance to try and charge it. The interior is beautiful as the seats were all redone in original fashion at the end of last summer and look like brand new. All the interior chrome is polished and shiny and the original door cards, headliner, and other interior pieces are in great condition. It also has like new 4-ply wide white wall tires, a brand new battery, fully rebuilt water pump, new air filter, and all the fluids were flushed just about a week or so ago (oil change, coolant flush, transmission flush). I also just recently had the transmission gone through and adjusted as well as the carburetor cleaned and throttle return spring replaced. All the chrome is in great shape with no pitting or blemishes. The grill, like all other Cadillac's of this age, does have slight oxidation in areas, but nothing that stands out. The paint is in great condition except for a few small imperfections here and there (left front fender-shown in pictures). No rust! This car has only had two owners before me dating all the way back to 1961 and was always garage kept and winterized every year! I also had a whole new stainless steel exhaust system put on it end of last year as well (sounds great!). It runs and drives beautifully with no issues and is a great cruiser with plenty of power. The only other thing it will need is to have the seat belts installed. Last summer I had the old ones taken out and new ones bought (included with the car) and just realized they were not installed yet. I also have a folder of paperwork including maintenance records, receipts, old blue prints, etc. as well as extra parts such as air filters, bulbs, seat belts, color-matching paint, and a water-proof car cover that will all be included with the car. All in all this car is ready to be driven daily with no issues and would be a great addition to anyone's collection. I just took her out the other day for a cruise with no issues whatsoever and if anyone is local and wants to come take a look or test drive it, feel free to give me a call or email. Also feel free to contact me if you have any questions whatsoever or if there's something I missed in the pictures that you would like to see. Happy bidding!

Cadillac ATS Crimson Sport Edition is here for a limited run

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

The Cadillac ATS has been a well-received entry into the small sport sedan segment for General Motors' premium brand, but keeping the model fresh is an understandably high priority. A two-door coupe variant is on the way and should help keep interest up, but the line's volume leader is still expected to be the sedan. In order to keep awareness high and sales going, GM will need to lavish a little attention on its four-door, as well. That's where the Crimson Sport Edition comes in.
Crimson Red Metallic paint is the exterior highlight for this special-edition Cadillac, while the interior is complemented with a number of microsuede touchpoints, including the heated steering wheel and shifter. To this point, the car's rich burgundy finish has only been offered on CTS-V Coupe and Sport Wagon models, and brand spokesperson Donny Nordlicht tells Autoblog that this is the first time that the company has offered a microsuede wheel with heat. Four interior trims are also available, although all have been seen previously.
The Crimson Sport will be limited to production this spring, and the trimmings can be added to either the 2.0T Performance or the V6 Premium specifications. Both rear- and all-wheel drive will be available, as well. Prices start at $46,010 for the turbocharged model and $51,010 for the V6 including destination fees, which represents a premium of $2,990 for the extra equipment.

Cadillac to bolster CT sedans with XT crossovers

Wed, 01 Oct 2014

Cadillac is moving swiftly to change up its naming scheme. Barely over a week ago we received our first indication that it was considering a different name its the upcoming flagship sedan previously known as LTS. Then Cadillac not only revealed the model would be called CT6, but announced that it would set the stage with a massive overhaul of its model nomenclature. And now we have another piece of the puzzle.
According to Forbes, Cadillac will not only rename its sedans with the letters CT, but will realign its utility vehicles under the banner of XT - both to be followed by a number indicating its place in the lineup. The one exception will be the Escalade, whose nameplate has such a strong following that it would be foolish for Cadillac to cast it aside. That leaves only the SRX (pictured above), but makes room for a new crop of crossovers said to be in the works.
It's a similar approach which Cadillac's new boss Johan de Nysschen took in revising the naming scheme at Infiniti. While it's bound to ruffle some feathers and scratch some heads in the beginning - especially since the company's current flagship sedan is called XTS - it's equally sure to make sense of it all in the long run. All we need to know now is what Nysschen and his marketing chief Uwe Ellinghaus plan to call the coupes.

2015 Cadillac Escalade blings its way into LA

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

The new Cadillac Escalade sauntered out onto the Los Angeles Auto Show stage, showing off its new familial face and redesigned interior. That exterior, with its slim, wrap-over headlights and tall, vertical taillights (both made up of LEDs) is a subtle but significant departure from the past styling of General Motors' flagship SUV.
And while there's no shortage of stuff to discuss about the Caddy's exterior, its cabin is where the big changes happen. Aside from the column-mounted shifter, the cabin receives a heavy going-over, receiving Cadillac's new CUE infotainment system and a significant upgrade to the materials. Comparing it to furniture, Eric Clough, Cadillac's director of design for interiors, said, "An exceptional level of craftsmanship has gone into the redesign of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, and it all centers on the premium materials and extensive use of cut-and-sew live stitching."
Under hood sits a 420-horsepower, 460-pound-foot, 6.2-liter V8. Fitted with direct injection and active fuel management, fuel economy for the big Escalade should get a much-needed boost beyond the current model's 14-city and 18-highway miles per gallon, although official numbers haven't been published quite yet. A six-speed automatic is the sole gearbox choice. Cadillac has also fitted the new Escalade with GM's magnetic ride control system, which should deliver a more refined ride than its predecessor.
