1961 CADILLAC 2 DOOR HARD TOP DE VILLE, CUSTOM INTERIOR,  ORIGINAL 390 CADDY ENGINE AND AUTO TRANNY, NO A/C (WAS NEVER ON THE CAR) 17" AFTERMARKET WHEELS, GOOD RUBBER, DRIVERS SIDE GLASS IS CRACKED AND WILL NEED REPLACED, ALL OTHER GLASS IS GOOD,  RUNS GOOD AND DRIVES VERY GOOD, POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, POWER WINDOWS. ORIGINAL COLOR WAS WHITE BUT NOW 2 YEAR OLD BLACK PAINT JOB, ALL THE LIGHTS WORK, ALL THE GAUGES WORK,  BRAKES WORK GOOD. THIS CAR IS NOT A SHOW PIECE JUST A VERY GOOD QUALITY DRIVER. THE ORIGINAL ENGINE DOES RUN GOOD BUT IT STARTING TO SHOW IT'S AGE, THE WATER PUMP LEAKS A LITTLE IF YOU LET IT SIT, THE ENGINE DOES LEAK A LITTLE OIL IF YOU LET IT SIT. BUT I BELIEVE YOU COULD DRIVE THIS CAR ANYWHERE YOU WANTED WITHOUT PROBLEMS, I HAVE PUT MANY MILES ON IT.
THE WIPER MOTOR DOES WORK BUT THE SWITCH THAT RUNS THE WIPERS WILL NOT LET THE MOTOR TURN OFF, SO IT IS UNPLUGED.

VERY MINOR RUST AND I MEAN VERY MINOR IN THE TRUCK, OTHER THAN THAT THE CAR IS PRETTY WELL RUST FREE AS FAR AS I CAN TELL.

IT HAS THE ORIGINAL JACK AND SPARE IN THE TRUNK, THE OWNERS MANUAL IN THE GLOVE BOX AND I HAVE ALL 4 ORIGINAL WHEELS AND HUB CAPS AS WELL.

THIS IS A VERY STRAIGHT CAR, THE COLOR IS BLACK AND IT LOOKS GOOD BECAUSE YOU KNOW BLACK PAINT SHOWS ALL THE FLAWS.

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.

Jeep Twitter account hacked, bad language, poor grammar and some hilarity ensue

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Just a day after Burger King's Twitter account was compromised by "unauthorized users," Jeep's social media feed has been similarly hacked. Both instances of digital incursion share some similarities - the BK hackers changed the company's logo for McDonald's familiar golden arches, saying a sale had occurred, while the Jeep miscreants have replaced Jeep's branding with that of General Motors property Cadillac.
The resulting tweets from the damaged Jeep account have been a pretty brutal, to put it bluntly. Most of the content coming from the hacked account is unpublishable here, using language that is peppered with racial epithets, and poorly worded "shout outs."
In addition to the defamatory tweets themselves, the hackers have significantly altered the layout of the page. Jeep's header image now features a picture of the Cadillac ATS to go along with the Wreath and Crest, some language calling out that car as winning the 2013 North American Car of the Year award, and this gem: "The official Twitter handle for the Jeep(R) - Just Empty Every Pocket, Sold To Cadillac =[" Also, perhaps in an ode to yesterday's Burger King heist, the background image for the page now features a McDonald's-themed donk. The devil's in the details, we guess.

Cadillac logo losing its wreath?

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

The easily recognizable Cadillac logo dates back to the company's founding in the early 1900s, but over the last 110 years, there has been an on-again, off-again love affair with the wreath surrounding the crest. Cadillac's current badge design has used the wreath since the 1980s, but Automotive News is reporting that GM's luxury division is planning to ditch the laurel wreath for a cleaner-looking logo.
The new logo could make its debut as early as next month on a new concept car that will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, although the report also says that it might be until 2015 before it makes its way to a production car. Even then, it doesn't like anything has been finalized yet, as the article also says that plans could still change.
As Cadillac looks to improve its global presence as a luxury automaker, the report says that a simpler logo could make it easier for designers to incorporate the badge onto the car - either in the grille or above the grille (possibly in a fashion similar to Mercedes-Benz). Head on over to the AN article, which shows the Cadillac logo dating back to its earliest design.
