1990 Cadillac, Allante Convertible on 2040-cars
Urbandale, Iowa, United States
I am proud to present this automotive piece of American history in the Cadillac - Allante. With a very unique partnership with Pininfarina Italy, GM was able to have a car designed and styled by the legendary coach company and then have the cars transported over to the USA where they were mated with the powertrain and drivetrain by Cadillac. With only 2,523 Allantes produced in 1990 this car is destined to be a collectible. This vehicle had an original MSRP of over $58,000. The car runs and drives very nice and has had routine service done throughout its life. The car has been owned by my father-in-law and stored in Des Moines, Iowa since January 14, 1993. He has just sold his storage building, and must reluctantly part with his toys. The glossy gold paint looks great next to the natural beige leather interior (excellent condition) and the cutting edge digital dash that gives you many reads on the car at a glance. The exterior trim, including tail lights are in excellent condition. Factory features include plenty of comforts that will give the driver and passenger a great ride and driving experience. Recaro - Durosoft leather seats, On-board computer, full power seats, rear window defrost, power convertible top, and much more. The car is being sold with the soft and hard tops. The hard top stand is also supplied. The car is very nice overall - the only flaw to point out is that the radio does not work - there is no sound coming out of the speakers (have been told this is very common on these cars). |

Weekly Recap: New bosses try to jump-start Cadillac and Lincoln
Sat, 26 Jul 2014
Both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
It's ironic that Cadillac and Lincoln got new bosses within days of each other this month. It's also a commentary on the fact both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
Cadillac's Butler announces surprise departure
Mon, 05 Aug 2013The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Cadillac's vice president of global strategic development, Don Butler, has resigned. Butler has held the position since April, after a term as vice president of US marketing for General Motor's luxury brand.
As the report explains, the timing here is pretty unfortunate for Cadillac. Butler is the third high-profile member of Cadillac's brass to depart in recent months, following the firing of US sales boss Chase Hawkins and the pending departure of Susan Docherty. Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell told the Detroit paper, "Bob [Ferguson]," global boss for Cadillac, "and other leaders asked him to stay on. Don's here in the office today - and told our team that his decision is purely on a personal level. After three years of putting everything into Cadillac, he is stepping away for some personal time, and to consider new avenues in his life."
Butler says his decision is part of a decision to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities." Whatever the reason, it's an unpleasant surprise for Cadillac, which has been on a surge in 2013, with 30-percent jump in sales on the heels of the hot-selling ATS.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
