1991 Cadillac Allante. Runs and drives well. Motor and transmission are mechanically good. Climate control system heats and cools as it should. I recharge the A/C each spring and it cools until fall. Driver side power window is operational but passenger side power window is Not operational. Tires do not leak air but are starting to show early signs of dryrot. Interior needs lots of TLC. Seats are operational but need to be reupholstered. Needs dash pad, and door panels could also use some help. Radio does not work and driver's side-mirror needs new fasteners. There is a small dent in the upper front fender, on the driver's side. Two Upholstery Shops have advised me the top can be refitted by adding a piece of fabric and re-stretching. The tail light script "Cadillac Allante" is missing. As you can see in the pictures the clear coat has separated and car will need paint. The original Memphis Electronics car phone equipment is still with the car (in the trunk) with the exception of the hand-held phone receiver which was not with the car when I purchased it. THE THROTTLE CABLE MUST BE REPAIRED/REPLACED TO MAKE THE CAR SAFE AND ROADWORTHY. The car should be trailered to the Buyer's home. It will be the Buyer's responsibility to pick up the car or arrange for a shipper. I am selling this car with a low reserve. If you have any questions I will be happy to talk with you. You can reach me at 301-898-9195 or 301-471-9634 or through eBay.

Cadillac confirms CT8/CT9 flagship, ELR successor
Fri, 10 Oct 2014Cadillac has certainly been a hot topic as of late, what with Johan de Nysschen now running the joint, moving its headquarters to New York, and overhauling the company's naming structure (only to later publicly defend all of these drastic decisions). Now, looking ahead, de Nysschen is already revealing some details about what's in store for the future, including a raft of new products that include a large, long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz S-Class rival positioned above the recently announced CT6, along with a successor to the slow-selling ELR coupe.
In an interview with Reuters, de Nysschen says his company has "just signed off on" a new flagship tipped to be called CT8 or CT9. It will compete with the long-wheelbase versions of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series, and should come to market by the end of this decade.
Among other news, the South African executive said a followup to the ELR plug-in hybrid is in development, though it may not be a two-door coupe like the current car. That's not necessarily a bad thing, since the ELR has garnered nothing but slow sales and poor reviews since its launch.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
2015 Cadillac Escalade
Fri, 29 Aug 2014I have never liked traveling to Monterey, CA. The picturesque coastal city is about 300 miles from my home in Los Angeles, which means cramped and uncomfortable regional aircraft are part of the equation when the turnaround is only one night. Over the years, I have cursed the LA Basin's bumper-to-bumper traffic en route to the airport, argued with TSA personnel over carry-on baggage and waited countless hours for the fog to lift just for the anguish of being packed into a small regional jet for the flight. Of course, the process repeats on the trip home with equal misery.
Yet this time I am not suffering.
Cadillac has dropped its all-new 2015 Escalade in my driveway. Instead of battling city congestion, attempting to reason with misinformed government agents, snacking on a too-small bag of pretzels and physically rubbing shoulders with a dubious stranger for 90-plus minutes within the confines of a bumpy aircraft, I have chosen to forgo air travel and drive myself door-to-door in a fullsize luxury sport utility vehicle.
