BUICK GS 4 SPEED 455 "1972"----Very rare. 1 of 84 GS 4 speed. Highly optioned car. Power windows, power disc brakes, AC, rear defroster, AM FM stereo radio, bucket seats, console and consolette, F-41 suspension, 15" rallye wheels. With all these options you would think it came with power steering. IT DID NOT. I converted to power steering. Car will come with original manual, steering and pitman arm.

Body work started but not completed. Still has dents and dings. Will also need to be blocked, sanded and primed. Car is rust free except for left lower front fender. Has a repair patch. Power window glass and regulators are in place and all motors work.

Original parts include big block steering shaft, clutch fork, trans cross member, speedo cable, also 4 speed speedometer.

No windshield. Front bumper is bent on drivers side. Hood is complete with grills and scoops. Very nice condition. No seal plates. New battery, no tray. I believe I have most chrome for car. Some is good, some driver quality.

Car will need complete interior, also vinyl top. No dash pad, 2 tailpipes, No grille, no impact stripes for front bumper, No upright for ram air cleaner. P.S brackets are not correct, but they do work. I DO NOT have all parts to finish car. What I have is boxed up. I also have Build Sheet and Colorado title.

This is a true U Code 1972 GS.

Stereo radio has been restored, Numbers matching motor and trans rear, carburator, distributor. Date code on heads and intake are also correct.

My age and health dictate that car needs new home.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

Buick shows US dealers 2016 Cascada convertible

The affordable four-seat convertible has become a largely forgotten genre in the States, especially with the death of the Chrysler 200 Convertible. Of course, there are still premium options from Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz - not to mention more overtly performance-oriented droptop pony cars from Chevrolet and Ford - but if you want an affordable cruiser, you're kind of out of luck. That may be about to change, however, with renewed rumors of the Opel Cascada (pictured above) making it across the Atlantic wearing a Buick badge.
According to GM Inside News, Buick showed off the Cascada to US dealers last week, with renewed word that the company plans to bring it over from Europe for the 2016 model year. The US version will reportedly be practically identical to its German cousin in terms of styling, but the powertrain underneath is less certain. According to GMI, it may use the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that is available in Europe with either 168 horsepower or 197 hp.
The Cascada rides on GM's Delta II platform, which also underpins the Verano, and the latest rumor certainly provides even more evidence that the convertible is probably on the way. Speculation about the droptop started when GM CEO Dan Akerson said last year that the car was on his wish list to bring over. Then, the US trademark on the name was reserved earlier this year, and the release was speculated for sometime in early 2016.

J.D. Power customer survey of dealers counts Cadillac, Buick as big winners

Cadillac and Buick have taken the trophies in J.D. Power's latest Customer Service Index Study examining satisfaction with dealer service. Surveying more than 90,000 owners and lessees of 2009-2013 model-year cars, the study found that those with pre-paid maintenance packages were ten percent more likely to buy their next car from the same brand.
Dealer satisfaction scores have improved overall, Cadillac nabbed the luxury segment ahead of Audi and Lexus, taking the crown that Lexus held last year. Buick keeps the mass-market dealer satisfaction win in the family, finishing ahead of Volkswagen and last year's winner GMC. The study also found that service department use of tablets increased customer satisfaction, as did "best practices" like "providing helpful advice." Who knew?
