Fully documented original 1987 Buick Regal Limited Turbo, 1 of only 1,035 built and 1 of only a handful with this unique option combination.   North Carolina car with ultra rare option combination of Heavy Pad Landau roof, T-Tops, coach lamps, cornering lights, 6-way power drivers sear, reclining passenger seat, and factory trunk kit to name a few.  Fully loaded car with over $6K in options.  Comes with original window sticker, bill of sale, stock ID tag, and other sale and factory literature come with the car. Car was manufactured in September of 1986 (1987 Build Year) and was sold off the dealer showroom in May of 1987 with a mere 357 miles on the odometer from Cardinal Chevrolet-Buick-Cadillac in Reidsville, North Carolina.  The car remained in North Carolina until 2012 when I purchased it.

The car was re-painted once which occurred in 2011 according to the previous owner. At that time the car was disassembled and new fiberglass bumper fillers were installed along with new headlights and bulbs all the way around. The following new emblems were also installed: 3.8 Turbo Hood, Buick grill, regal rear quarter panel emblems, decklid 3.8 Turbo emblem, and deck lid Buick emblem. The car contains all the original trim, glass, moldings, landau top, bezels, front grill, bumpers, and sheet metal. Very little has been replaced on the car. Clean title and no accident history or issues. Car is in great shape and a fine example of the way it rolled off the factory showroom. No issues and very little surface rust on the frame / bumper supports.  Extremely solid car that has been well kept and garage maintained with the original as new condition landau roof!

Original numbers matching car with the following mechanical upgrades: Rebuilt 200-r4 transmission and converter with shift kit, upgraded rear end with limited slip differential, rebuilt factory turbo, and recent tune-up including AC Delco plugs, AC O2 sensor, fuel filter, plug wires, serpentine belt, PCV valve, rear main seal, intercooler/radiator flush, coil pack replaced and TPS adjustment. The engine has solid compression and holds 20+ PSI of oil pressure at idle hot and 60 PSI cold. The previous owner could not verify if the engine was ever rebuilt but it pulls strong with zero hesitation and it's the best running stock turbo regal I've ever owned. No smoke at start-up or while driving and no issues with the turbo seals. Also maintains the original factory mass air flow sensor. The AC works and blows cold but was converted at some point to 134. Appears to be the original power master and works fine with recent fluid change.

The only aftermarket upgrades to the car are: Racetronix high volume fuel pump (340) and new wiring on factory hanger, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, 160 degree t-stat, boost control valve (Set at 15lbs), 3.5 inch mild steel down pipe, Hooker 2.5 inch exhaust (Sounds great), cold air intake with K&N filter, pillar mounted boost gauge, oil and temp gauges in overhead t-top panel.

The interior is all original and contains the factory plush limited carpet, GM original carpet savers, and seats. No rips or tears in the upholstery but does contain a few blemishes from previous owners. Fully working: 6-way power seat, reclining passenger seat, illuminated visor, rear window defog, cruise control, power windows/door locks, original UM6 radio with factory speakers and concert sound.

The car is great for cruise nights and sunny drives or a commuter as its well sorted out and very reliable. Has been well maintained and is mechanically sound as everything works on the car. Needs nothing mechanically other then power antennae replacement kit.

I am Buick guy and would love to keep it but family priorities and expanding family force sale.  Destined to be a collector considering the rarity and is certain to appreciate over time.

Car is sold as is without warranty. $1000 deposit required within 48 hours and balance within 5 days.  Car is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.

Located in Bucks County PA, 19067.  Will ship at buyers expense.

GM reports third straight sales drop in China in 2020

Wed, Jan 6 2021

BEIJING — General Motors' vehicle sales in China fell 6.2% in 2020, as the U.S. automaker suffered a prolonged slowdown in the world's biggest auto market. GM, China's second biggest foreign automaker, delivered 2.9 million vehicles in the country last year, the company said on Wednesday, for a third straight decline in annual sales. But sales have been recovering in the second half of last year, up 12% between July and September and 14% in the final three months. GM has a Shanghai-based joint venture with SAIC Motor, in which the Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac vehicle brands are made. It also has another Liuzhou-based venture, with SAIC and Guangxi Automobile Group, in which they make no-frills minivans and have started to make higher-end cars. Sales of its Buick brand grew 4% on the year and Wuling rose 9%, the statement said. Luxury brand Cadillac's sales increased 8%. Sales of GM's more affordable Baojun brand dropped 33% last year, while sales of its mass-market Chevrolet tumbled 30%. GM's delivery of 2.9 million vehicles in China follows 3.09 million vehicles in 2019, 3.65 million vehicles in 2018, and 4.04 million in 2017, for a three-year decrease of 28%.

Buick Electra E5 interior debuts with a 30-inch, 6K OLED display

Thu, Mar 2 2023

After a Chinese ministry outed the Electra E5 two months ago, Buick China officially revealed the exterior about a month ago. Now it's time for the five-seat battery-electric crossover's interior. Buick's first ride on the Ultium platform not only looks good, it's full of tech. Those aspects come together in the cabin's biggest lure to the eye, the Virtual Cockpit and its 30-inch EyeMax curved LCD screen. The manufacturer says that in addition to 6K resolution, the screen can display one billion colors — a chromatic range that every mantis shrimp with a driver's license will appreciate. The tech continues in premium touches like the 12.6-inch heads-up display, 121 colors of ambient lighting, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless phone charging. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip provides faster processing, enables 5G connectivity, and can manage OTA updates for multiple in-car modules simultaneously. Comparing the Electra E5 interior to our flagship Enclave Avenir, it's easy to make connections in the design language. Still, there's no question the Electra represents a big evolution. The steering wheel design, sculpted seat bolsters, and floating headrests are edging toward racy. The arbitrary curves that create layers of instruments in the Enclave are gone, the Electra using each input zone naturally carve out its own space on the IP. And with Buick describing this as a large mid-sizer, the floating center console gives front occupants plenty of cubby room, rear passengers enjoying the 40.5 inches of rear legroom. Remember, this sits on the same wheelbase as the imminent 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV, but stretches about two inches longer in overall length. The Buick's materials are expected to make an upgrade as well, with micro-perforated leather, soft-touch plastics, and brushed aluminum accents. The Electra E5 should hit the Chinese market before the middle of the year. There's a version coming for the U.S., expected to arrive in time for the 2024 model year. We're not sure how much of what we see here will carry over. We know we're looking for something more potent than the 241-horsepower, single-motor powertrain which is the only one we've heard about for the Chinese-market Electra E5 so far. But assuming it is as nice as it looks, that cabin can come as-is. Related video:

Junkyard Gem: 1985 Buick Skyhawk Custom Coupe

Sat, Jan 7 2023

General Motors began building cars on the compact J Platform in 1981, and J-based machinery stayed in production all the way through the 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier and Pontiac Sunfire. The best-known of the J-cars in North America was always the Cavalier, but The General's Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick and even Cadillac divisions each sold their own Js here. The Buick version was the Skyhawk, built for the 1982 through 1989 model years. Here's a sporty '85 Skyhawk coupe, found in a Northern California boneyard recently. The Custom trim level was the cheapest version of the Skyhawk in 1985, and the two door was the most affordable configuration (midgrade Skyhawks were Limiteds and the T-Type was at the top of the Skyhawk pyramid that year). The MSRP on this car started at $7,512 (about $21,220 in inflation-adjusted 2022 dollars), making it the least expensive new Buick offered for sale in the United States in 1985. The Skyhawk name had been used on the Buick version of the Chevrolet Monza during the 1970s. The Chevrolet-badged sibling of this car was much cheaper, with the list price of the base '85 Cavalier coupe set at $6,872 (around $19,410 today). There were cheaper new Chevrolets that year, of course; a new Chevette cost just $5,470, while the Isuzu-built Spectrum was $6,295 and the Suzuki-built Sprint a skinflinty $5,151. The base engine in the Custom and Limited was this 2.0-liter SOHC straight-four rated at 86 horsepower. A turbocharged 1.8-liter version with 150 horses was available for an extra 800 bucks ($2,260 now). A four-on-the-floor manual transmission was standard equipment in the 1985 Skyhawk, but the buyers of most of these cars insisted on automatics. The price for this one was $425 ($1,200 today). A five-speed manual cost just $75 ($210). Velour-ish upholstery in Bordello Red (Buick didn't use that name) was all the rage during the 1980s and well into the 1990s. This car's interior looks pretty nice, considering where it's parked. Community Buick GMC in Iowa is still in business today. The five-digit odometer means we can't know how many miles were on this car at the end. I brought a Chicago-made 1950s Pho-Tak Foldex 30 film camera with me to the junkyard that day, as one does, and I photographed the Skyhawk on Kodak Portra 160 film. The irritatingly perky Skyhawk owners in this TV commercial appear to be about one-third the age of typical mid-1980s Buick shoppers.
