1959 Buick LaSabre 4dr sedan in excellent condition...original family...purchased in 1959 by present owners great grandmother.....stored indoors for 45 years on blocks...all original except tires and battery replaced in 2004... all glass original...364 cu in nailhead 8 cylinder with power steering and brakes....dynaflow automatic transmission...runs great!!! Has been serviced regularly for past 20 years...less than 28,000 original miles...two tone blue & white...some minor dents and a couple of rust spots...exterior paint has faded from outside exposure....has never been in accident...AM tube radio works great (remember they have to warm up)...all gauges still work....interior in good to excellent condition...dashboard padding has cracked from sun exposure...some threading in seat covers seams has deteriorated...but otherwise no tears in material...car & title (clear) will be provided by seller when buyer provides cash or bank check for purchase completion... Seller will not ship auto to any buyer....buyer can arrange to have car picked up after sale completed to satisfaction of seller. 2014 Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse recalled over brake mix-up
Thu, 08 May 2014The recall madness over at General Motors isn't letting up anytime soon, as evidenced by this latest call-back of 8,208 Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans. For those keeping track, this is the fifth recall that GM has announced in the past two weeks, not to mention the massive ignition-switch issue from earlier this year.
GM issued a statement saying these sedans are being recalled due to "possible reduced braking performance," according to Automotive News. The problem? Rear brake rotors may have accidentally been installed in the front brake assembly. And since both cars use more robust braking systems up front than out back, braking power could be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.
Automotive News reports that, of the over 8,000 cars being recalled, about 1,700 are currently in the hands of customers, while the others are still in dealer inventory. GM is unaware of any crashes or injuries related to this problem. All of the affected vehicles are from the 2014 model year.
GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

It seems that Europe is defining the future of General Motors more so than its home North American market. Having axed Saturn, Pontiac and Hummer, GM has done a fairly good job of repositioning its remaining four divisions, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC. Cadillac carries the luxury banner. Chevrolet is aimed at the masses with cars and trucks along with a nod to performance thanks to Camaro and Corvette. Buick bridges the premium gap between Chevy and Cadillac, while GMC offers a hardcore work/upscale proposition.
