1976 Bmw 2002 Black/tan Manual Beautiful No Rust Lots Of Reciepts Title 72k Mile on 2040-cars
Avon, Ohio, United States
Beautiful 1976 BMW 2002. Black over tan. Manual transmission. Only 72,530 original miles. No rust. Was originally a West Coast car, it was purchased and shipped to East Coast by BMW enthusiast less than 2 years ago. Kept indoors in heated storage since then. We have owned over 20 BMWs, mostly 5 series. Our favorites are e28s and e34s. Have also had a couple 7 series and 2002s. However, both our previous 2002s were automatics. Always wanted a "real" 2002 with a manual transmission. This car has that as well as the best color combination, no rust and very low original miles. Clean, clear title. Car also has highly sought set of Alpina wheels. (Seller can supply complete set of OEM steel wheels with rubber if buyer wishes. However, these are not included in ebay sale unless deal is specifically worked out. Please let us know if you are interested.) Very nice car for the BMW 2002 enthusiast or, God forbid, SCCA or a super nice track car. Please email any questions. Thanks. Car was listed less than 10 minutes and we already received a question. Yes, car has 72K original miles. Unlike other BMW 2002s currently listed on ebay, this car's odometer has NOT turned over. It has 72K original miles. Thanks.
On Feb-19-14 at 18:25:25 PST, seller added the following information: We sent one of the office girls to the storage facility to take some more pictures of the car. They are the best she could do with her iphone. While they are not great, they show the uncracked dash, the rust free shock towers and the motor compartment. Note, car is exactly as is, it was not detailed for photos. So, car can only look better. Also, we had several questions about the interior. Please note seats are original. As such, they are a bit tired and could stand a re-stuff. Others would simply replace them with 320i seats or a new set of Recaros. This will be left up to the new owner. We chose to keep the car stock so we left the original seats in car. The seats are what keeps this car from being sold for $15K. So car is not perfect, and as you see, is not priced as such. Reserve has already been met. We have other pictures. If interested please send us your email address and we will forward more photos. Thanks |

Pure black BMW i8 hydrogen fuel cell prototype on the track
Sat, Jul 18 2015Largely coated in matte black paint with just a few touches of dark blue contrast, the BMW hydrogen fuel cell-powered i8 prototype looks stealthy just sitting still. Now, that ninja-like styling is taking to the track in this video to prove that its performance doesn't come with much noise. The quiet hum of the tires and an odd whir from the rear are all that you hear coming. As this i8 prototype picks up speed around the circuit, the sounds that the drivetrain makes just get weirder. When moving slowly, you can pick out the usual whine that's expected from conventional electric vehicles. However at higher velocities, the coupe almost makes a noise like its constantly exhaling. Along with the recently unveiled BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo hydrogen-fueled concept, this sneaky looking i8 is part of BMW's technological push to become a greener automaker. The company is also prototyping a turbocharged engine with water injection and new plug-in hybrid powertrains. Although this low-slung coupe is by far the most attractive of that bunch. We might not be too far away from actually seeing this tech on sale on models bearing the Bavarian brand's roundel, either. Thanks to collaboration with Toyota, the company wants to have fuel cell components ready by 2020, and sales could start early in the decade. Hopefully all of the company's FCEVs look as menacingly great as this i8 by that time, though.
M-thusiast pops the question at BMW Welt
Tue, 02 Sep 2014We've seen all manner of marriage proposals over the years, but our favorites, of course, revolve around cars. One guy proposed to his girlfriend at a traffic stop, another during an autocross event, while yet another got dozens of Mazda MX-5 owners together to spell "Marry Me?" in Miatas. This latest proposal, however, put the M in Marriage as only a BMW enthusiast could.
While visiting BMW Welt in Munich, Bachir from Lebanon rolled out in a new blue M3 and got down on one knee in front of the gathered crowds to pop the question to Layal, his girlfriend of one year.
We'll let you watch the clip for yourself to see how it went, but suffice it to say that she was delighted. The couple plan to drive to the church in a procession of M cars for what promises to be a high-octane ceremony in their home country.
Watch man destroy his M6 'lemon' with a sledgehammer and ax
Tue, 17 Sep 2013Just to be clear, the owner of this BMW M6 isn't ready for another one. He and his friend destroyed the V10-powered coupe in anger at the entrance to the Frankfurt Motor Show in a decidedly public fashion. Bild and GT Spirit report that the owner was angry over mysterious quality and reliability issues that he claims BMW wasn't able to fix. What we have here, folks, is claimed to be a very expensive lemon.
As the story goes, owner Pourmohseni Hadi bought the 2007 M6 in 2008, and five years later, he is still complaining about mysterious vibrations, rattles and severe jolts during gear changes - the latter he says have caused passengers to become nauseous. The car was taken to several BMW repair shops in Italy and Hadi says he he has written a letter to the automaker about his issues, but the car was never fixed and the letter unanswered, he claims. What we don't know is how many miles the car has been driven and when all these problems started happening. The situation reminds us of a certain Lamborghini Gallardo from a couple years back.
While we understand Hadi's frustration, perhaps an M6 just doesn't suit his tastes. After all, we'd be lying if we said a perfectly functioning M6 of this generation wasn't bumpy over uneven surfaces and wouldn't make some passengers nauseous, with its stiffly sprung suspension and dizzying 500-horsepower V10. Anyone wanna bet his M6 was equipped with one of BMW's notoriously abrupt SMG single-clutch gearboxes?
