I am selling my "barn" find car. I acquired the car about 3 years ago after finding it on my uncle's property in California. The car has been properly titled in my name and is ready to go. The car is a California car in great shape mechanically and body.
Automatic shifts well, kick down works great, the A/C Blows as well as you can expect, heat works, sunroof opens smoothly. I have changed all the fluids, replaced the spark plugs, wires and air filter, along with a new battery. After that the car started right up. The car was repainted at one point in its life and the California sun has faded it a bit, it is a light blue with some flaking on the passenger A pillar. Car appears to have been originally Granatrot Metallic. New front brakes just installed. Car is a driver and can be driven every day with a few minor fixes that I will continue to work on until the car is sold, but the price will go up accordingly. I have all the waist trim in the trunk, I am just not sure I want to put it back on. Car appears to have been in a couple minor accidents, front fenders (repair not noticeable with hood closed), Minor surface rust in a couple spots. Please email me if you would like more picture or picture of something specific. The Front drivers seat has tears and need to be re-upholstered, all other seats are in great shape with no tears. |

The Homer to contest 24 Hours of LeMons
Thu, 27 Jun 2013It's finally happened. A 24 Hours of LeMons team has built the definitive interpretation of The Homer from The Simpsons for competition in an upcoming race. As you may recollect, The Homer is the fictional car designed by Homer Simpson for his brother's car company. Designed with a separate compartment for screaming children and other Homer-centric goodies, the animated machine bankrupted its parent company and put Homer's brother out of a job. Now we get to watch it race other crap cans as it tackles Southern California's Buttonwillow Raceway on June 29. Scott Chamberlain, Kris Linquist, Reid Conti, Ben Reilly and Mike Yepes will helm the machine, and Jeff Herman serves as the team's creative director.
The racer is the latest incarnation of a well-abused BMW 3 Series. The team campaigned the same E30 under the "Prickstine" banner as a Chrysler Imperial tribute and "Porcubimmer," the latter being a riff on the ever-popular joke about the difference between porcupines and BMW models. BMW tests M Lap Timer App with M4 Coupe at Brands Hatch
Fri, 21 Mar 2014The 2015 BMW M4 looks to include all the necessary ingredients to offer dynamite driving experience. It's an M car after all. But in today's constantly connected world, the experience of hurtling a car around a track isn't always enough.
We want data, and while there are some solid telemetry apps available for smartphones (notably Harry's GPS LapTimer), manufacturers have been a bit slower to develop their own dedicated mobile telemetry trackers for their performance cars. With the new M4, though, BMW is taking the plunge, allowing drivers to track their lap progress through a new app, creatively called the M Lap Timer.
To show off the program, BMW has recruited touring car racer Andy Priaulx to perform a fast lap in an M4 at the UK's Brands Hatch circuit. The accompanying video doesn't do much to show off the app in action. Rather, it give us a stylized look at the metrics as Priaulx hustles BMW's hottest 4 Series coupe around the circuit.
2015 BMW X3 arrives with tweaked styling, diesel option
Wed, 05 Feb 2014The luxury crossover market has been a huge success for BMW, having sold over a million X3 models worldwide since the CUV first went on sale in 2003, not to mention all of the momentum its had with the larger X5. At the Chicago Auto Show, BMW is unveiling the refreshed 2015 X3, featuring an improved design, a new diesel engine option, and a rear-wheel drive variant.
The X3 is getting some handsome upgrades to the exterior. The twin, circular headlights now extend to touch the slightly widened, chrome kidney grille, to bring the styling in line with the 3 Series and 4 Series. (LED headlights are now optional, as well.) The front bumper gets reshaped brake cooling ducts, and the rear bumper gets a touch of additional metal trim at the bottom. BMW has also added standard LED turn signals in the side mirrors.
BMW has enhanced the interior with added chrome trim, high-gloss black trim around the center console, sliding covers for the cup holders and new interior upholstery designs. The X3 is also getting a major boost in optional technology - there's a new Parking Assistant, as well as an Active Driving Assistant with adaptive cruise control, Lane Departure Warning, Frontal Collision Warning, Pedestrian Warning, and City Collision Mitigation.
