1971 bmw 2002 sunroof car has early vin and shows to only be 740 made in this year production making it the 608th car built in 71 And with a factory sunroof and 4speed this car has all matching vins -block, fender tag and column car cranks and fires but needs plug wires and battery cables but this car is in great restorable condition it is in need of a driver door or just repair to the one on it this car is in rust free shape with only light surface rust in a few areas some thru rust in the front valance the rear quarter panel has some seperation from a dent in the past .The car does need a windshield also but is a round tail light car and sunroof as mentioned. The rear shock towers are in great condition along with the floor pan no rust holes and few dents the front nose is in excelent condition and has never been bumped. Will global automakers drop local JV partners if China's government says they can?
Wed, 02 Jul 2014Chinese economic policies could be in for a big change, as President Xi Jinping pushes the communist country to open its domestic markets even further. That could mean big things for the auto industry, especially when it comes to the country's far-reaching joint-venture system.
According to Chinese law, foreign automakers may only maintain a fifty-fifty partnership with their domestic counterparts. But with Jinping's push for openness leading to potential free-trade deals, that policy could be relaxed (or eradicated all together) in short order. What's an automaker to do?
Well, in BMW's case, stay the course. Automotive News Europe reports that, despite the grumblings about the JV policy changes, the German manufacturer has resigned its agreement with Brilliance through 2028. This is made doubly remarkable by the fact that BMW signed the extension over three years before it was set to expire.
Toyota passes BMW as most valuable car brand
Tue, 21 May 2013An annual market study of the strongest brands across various industries has seen Toyota leapfrog BMW as the world's most valuable automotive brand. Toyota's 2013 brand value rose to $24.5 billion, up 12 percent versus 2012 numbers according to market research company Millward Brown's BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands list. BMW's value fell slightly; down by 2 percent to a total of $24 billion.
Mercedes-Benz finished in third place in the automotive category, up 11 percent from 2012 for a valuation of $18 billion. Honda ($12.4 billion, down 2 percent) and Nissan ($10.2 billion, up 3 percent) rounded out the top five for the category. Volkswagen was the only other auto brand that finished in the top 100 overall, in 100th place. Audi made the greatest percentage gain over 2012, up 18 percent to $5.5 billion, but finished outside of the top 100.
Technology companies dominated the overall list, with Apple, Google and IBM ranking one through three. Couture brand Prada was 2013's biggest gainer, rising by 63 percent over 2012.
