2012 Black Audi Q5 2.0t Quattro Tiptronic on 2040-cars
San Antonio, Texas, United States
Note: there is a small crack in the windshield from a rock striking it on the highway. It is not large enough to need to have the windshield replaced, but it is large enough to see. Also, the auxiliary connection is for an Iphone 4, not Iphone 5. This is a great SUV that drives like a dream. The buttons, nobs and switches are intuitive and make sense. It is a very comfortable ride for the driver and passengers in the front and back. This car was selected after much research, test driving and car shopping. Here are some quotes from car review publications. U.S. News & World Report rated the 2012 Audi Q5 the best luxury compact SUV for the money and writes, "Auto reviewers say the 2012 Audi Q5 is worth every penny because this Best Luxury Compact SUV for the Money offers a lot for the price: standard all-wheel drive, great fuel economy, outstanding performance and a lush cabin." "Q5 offers a level of refinement and cargo/passenger versatility unmatched by most compact SUVs of any price. Those strengths, coupled with first-rate cabin appointments, make it a top choice in this class." -- Consumer Guide "Although nearly every automaker has talked big about downsizing, in essence, replacing larger engines with smaller-displacement, forced-induction powerplants to deliver similar performance and allegedly better fuel economy, Audi is among the few really going all-in with the strategy." -- Car and Driver Consumer reports rated it #1 in its class as well, noting "Audi's Q5 upscale compact SUV really stands out on the road. It’s handling is great. It has very good feedback from the steering and over all it’s really, really nimble and fun to drive." The positive reviews and top rankings are all over the internet. Race Recap: 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers, and notes from a dry lake bed [w/video]
Mon, 11 Feb 2013
It was a local guy from 90 miles away who beat them all...
The image above shows 129 Ultra4 racing rigs lined up for the start of the 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers. In case you missed Part One that explains why they're there and why they might be doing the most difficult and absurd one-day off-road race in the world, check it out. After a week of races in other events and two days of qualifying for the big show, the men and women who made it in were lined up to do three laps of a course around the 140,000-acre Johnson Valley OHV area in California's San Bernardino County.
Upcoming Audi Q1 rumored to get high-performance SQ1 variant
Thu, 19 Jun 2014The Audi Q1 isn't due for another two or three years, yet Auto Bild reports already that it will come in RS and SQ1 trims. According to the report, the RS Q1 will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder putting out 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, putting it about 70 hp and 8 lb-ft beyond the next-most-powerful gasoline engine in the standard range.
Depending on how you like your gumption served, however, the first SQ1 - like its European SQ5 sibling - go the diesel route with a 2.0-liter TDI fitted with twin turbos for 231 hp and 368 pound-feet of torque. That's an improvement of 47 hp and 88 lb-ft over the most powerful diesel engine said to be offered on the regular Q1.
The report goes on to say that there should be g-tron (natural gas) and e-tron versions of the Q1, and buyers will get a deep toy chest of assistance packages to equip it with. Starting price in Europe is expected to be around 25,000 euros, which, if correct, would make it 4,000 euros less dear than the Q3 in Germany.
2013 Audi S3
Mon, 13 May 2013Coming Soon To Our Shores With Two More Doors And A Trunk
The Audi S3 is not exactly a sales juggernaut, despite it being a bit of a legend for passionate fans of the small German premium genre. In most markets outside of Europe, people may consider such setups as the S3 three-door tested here, look at the price, and then think maybe they should just get a nice A4 sedan with greater practicality for similar cash. That certainly has been one reason Audi has never officially brought the S3 hatchback to the United States. And the 335-horsepower RS3 Sportback? Forget about it nearly everywhere but in Germanic regions, Switzerland and the UK.
All of which automatically turns the new S3 hatchback into an unattainable object of desire for many fans of the four-ringed brand. The good news, of course, for many markets not on the three-door or S3's dance card is that most of us will get a shot at buying the new S3 sedan that will be powered by the same drivetrain tested here. We reported heavily on the sedan version from the recent New York Auto Show and are convinced that there is much for North American shoppers to like.
