Up for auction today is a real nice 2001 Audi Allroad. I purchased this car roughly a year ago and almost all the miles I have put on the car have been highway. This car drives beautifully and on my last road trip averaged 18mpg fully loaded. This Allroad features a complete black and grey leather interior, all seats heated. Installed LATCH system for those families with car seats. No tears in leather or any major interior flaws. The exterior has some of the normal dings and paint chips. This allroad was purchased and spent majority of its time in Minnesota, so the CONS are some minor rust on doors that isnt noticable. The drivers rear tail light has a minor hole. as well as the rear deck lid not perfectly flushed with rest of body panels, but no leaks whatsoever. Their is a slight leak in one of the shocks that makes the vehicle drop when sitting and not running, but otherwise holds air while running. Ride is nice due to air ride. Please feel free to ask questions or request photos.

Autoblog gets ready for Le Mans with an R8 road trip and Allan McNish

Thu, 20 Jun 2013

This car is the master link between what Audi does on the race track and sells on the road.
We're attending the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Audi and we figured we'd make the world's biggest endurance race even more interesting by driving from Munich to Le Mans in an R8. We've also had a brief chat with Audi driver Allan McNish, and if you haven't already, check out all the multimedia ways to enjoy the next four days from the Circuit de la Sarthe, then read on.

Audi takes cars that park themselves to a whole new level

Fri, 11 Jan 2013

Autonomous cars are impressive displays of in-car technology, but what exactly would the benefit of such systems be for the average driver? Audi has answered that question by showing off its Piloted Parking system for the Audi Connect at CES 2013.
Installed on this Audi A7, Piloted Parking allows a driver to drop themselves off and have the car autonomously drive away on its own and find its own parking spot. The car can then later be retrieved by "calling" it back with a specially designed smartphone app. We'd be lying if we said this didn't bring back memories of Michael Knight summoning KITT with his wristwatch. The most impressive part of this car might be the fact that the car is fully autonomous but doesn't have any obvious sensors or monitors on the exterior of the car like many other self-driving cars have.
Check out a video of the this innovative technology in action after the jump.

Audi and Porsche squabble over future product platforms

Tue, 22 Jul 2014

In the buildup to the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans, Audi delivered an amusing video that worked on the playful rivalry between the German brand and its favorite frenemy, Porsche. We called it sibling rivalry, and at the time, it may have been just that. But just like sibling rivalries, it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, and that's just what seems to be about to happen in the formerly peaceful Volkswagen Group family.
A new report from Automobile calls out the growing animosity between Porsche, who is backed up by Bentley, and Audi, whose primary ally is Lamborghini. No blows have actually been thrown, although there is a fair amount of "he said, she said" going on.
As Porsche tells it, for example, the new global fullsize SUV architecture being developed by Audi isn't up to snuff, citing size and structure issues, as well as an inability to accommodate a wide variety of engines.
