BEST OF THE BEST!

Please be aware that A8 is not comparable to most 2009 A8Ls available on the internet; so my pricing will typically be higher because of the additional options, condition of the interior and exterior, and the recent Audi certification.  If you are simply looking for a newer or different car to drive then this will not be the car for you.  This A8 is for the educated car buyer who knows about the legendary hidden secret of the car-world.  The educated buyer should be able to easily look at the pics and tell the difference in the optional equipment.

There are 3 major options most people who know about A8s care about having:

Front Seat Ventilation & Massage  - $1,500
Driver and passenger active/massage ventilated seat

Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System  - $6,300
The Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System has been tailored for the longer A8. They have modified the midrange speaker box in the rear doors and chosen a larger midrange grill to complement the extended dimensions of the rear section. Moreover, a profound sound tuning was done to achieve the quality sound experience in the spacious car. They have gone for five additional loudspeakers for the new Audi A8 L. There are 14 speakers in total, with each fine tuned for a perfect sound experience. The loudspeaker grills for the midranges and woofers in both front and rear doors are made from aluminum to match perfectly the Audi A8 L’s interior curves.

Sport Package  - $4,300
Front and rear alloy wheels with 20 inch rim diam; Seven twin spoke high polished alloy; Front and rear tires with 275 mm tire width and 35% tire profile; Summer performance tires; Front and rear suspension with air springs; Driver selectable responsive suspension; Automatic front and rear suspension levelling; Sports steering wheel; Transmission with shift lever on steering wheel.

My gorgeous A8 has all three.

In addition, I have carefully and purposely priced this car to be lower than any other comparable A8 of the same or better age, mileage, and condition.  So please research this car before submitting an offer.  It will save time on both ends.  BUT if you find another certified 2009 A8 that is priced lower, and in the same condition with less miles then I will lower my price as well.

Here is the full run-down:
Phantom Black exterior (a very dark blue) with amaretto premium leather
Alcantara headliner
Automatic privacy shade for rear window with additional shades for rear doors.
Factory NAV
Contoured heated and ventilated front seats
Rear back-up camera with park-assist, Bang & Olufsen premium audio system
RARE Sport package with sport paddle shifters on steering wheel including factory 20" aluminum wheels
ALL electronic and mechanical components in working condition
The paint has a showroom shine
Flawless and manicured interior
Non-smoker; ashtray and cigarette lighter have never used
No accidents
CLEAN CARFAX report

I have the AutoCheck report ready upon request. AutoCheck score is 85 - highest of all A8s.
Previously certified; all scheduled maintenance, always garaged.  All Audi Certifications are not transferrable  You must purchase all certified Audis FROM an Audi dealer.  So I will sell my Audi to the local dealership here in Memphis (Gosset Audi), they will re-certify it, then you will buy it from them.  The Audi Certified Warranty is 6 years or 100,000 miles.  Currently still under factory warranty until August 16, 2013.  The re-certification cost ($1800) is already built into my sales price, so no additional cost to the buyer accept applicable sales tax.

I have about 75 high resolution pics taken and they are available upon request!

You can write me at vunlimited@mac.com.  This car truly is VERY clean as you will see in the hi-res pics.  But please note, the tires have minimal tread remaining and will need replacing soon.

The hot hatch without a hatch | 2017 Audi S3 First Drive

Thu, Nov 3 2016

The 2017 Audi S3 is a car without equal. That might end up on a billboard, but it's actually meant quite literally, as in the S3 has no direct competitor. Other compact luxury sedans, of which there are few, can't match its performance. The BMW 2 Series has two doors, plus it's rear-drive. The bonkers Mercedes-AMG CLA45 is on another power and price planet altogether. The mechanically related VW Golf R isn't a luxury car and has a hatch instead of a trunk. And so the S3 exists as an oddity. But it's a fun oddity, and a well-made one too. For 2017, it receives a number of noteworthy changes to keep it fresh and technologically relevant. Most also apply to the 2017 Audi A3, the car on which it's based, which itself gets a new 2.0-liter turbo four base engine in place of the old 1.8-liter. Paired with front-wheel drive and essentially a variation of the Quattro model's carry-over 2.0-liter, it produces 186 horsepower (up from 170) and returns 29 mpg combined (up from 27). That revamped A3 wasn't on hand for the press drive in Durham, North Carolina, so we were not-at-all stuck with the 2017 S3. Its own 2.0-liter turbo four is unchanged, still pumping out 292 hp and 280 pound-feet of torque through a six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission. Audi says it'll hit 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, which is a full second quicker than the 220-hp A3 Quattro as well as about a half-second quicker than the Audi A4 Quattro. That bonkers CLA45 is around the four-second mark. Indeed, having so much power in such a small sedan is a novel and grin-inducing experience. The throttle response is sharp enough in standard mode, but tap the dash-mounted Audi Drive Select toggle to choose Dynamic, and it comes even more alive, eagerly shooting the S3 forward with the merest hint of a toe wiggle. The DSG is also quite happy to downshift when called upon, either by said toe or by itself when under braking. Blipping down two gears when heading into a corner is commonplace here, as are the sharp little barks that emanate from the S3's quad exhaust tips. And then there's the S3's Quattro all-wheel drive, which has been updated for 2017 with the same performance-oriented system found in the TT and TTS. Although its front/rear torque split is constantly changing based on current traction conditions, it nevertheless skews towards a rear torque bias to the point that, when in Dynamic mode, it won't reduce power in oversteer situations.

2016 Audi S8 Plus burns the 'bahn faster

Thu, Nov 19 2015

At no point during my drive of the Audi S8 last year did I think, "You know, this car could really use more power." With 520 horses on tap from a twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8, the S8 is a damn good luxury/sport sedan. But I'm certainly not going to complain about a big ol' power boost, and that's just what we have here with the new Audi S8 Plus. It's got the same engine underhood, but power is boosted from 520 hp and 481 pound-feet of torque to a healthy 605 hp and 516 lb-ft. There's even an overboost function that increases torque output to 553 lb-ft for short bursts. That means the big S8 will run to 60 miles per hour in just over three and a half seconds. Hot damn. All that thrust doesn't come cheap, though; the S8 Plus costs $115,825. Of course, that's cheaper than the Mercedes-AMG S63 sedan, but the Merc is a decidedly more luxurious car. Still, a 605-hp S8 sounds mighty fine to me. Of course, a 520-hp S8 was already perfectly fine to begin with.

Audi reveals updated RS7 Sportback in Europe

Mon, 02 Jun 2014

It was just a couple of weeks ago that Audi revealed a few mild updates to its A7. It even ported those changes over to the warmed-up S7 performance version. All that was missing was the full-steam RS7, and that's precisely what we have here.
Now before you get all excited, note that the new RS7 packs the same powertrain as the model it succeeds, but then again, the existing RS7 hardly lacked in the power department. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 still churns out 560 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, transmitted to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic. Revealed initially for the European market (with US details presumably to follow), the 0-62 kilometers per hour time is quoted at 3.9 seconds, so the 0-60 mph time ought to match the 3.7 seconds of the preceding model.
What has changed are the subtle tweaks Audi has made to the exterior and equipment upgrades inside. The grille now features has a horizontal section at the bottom with the Quattro logo emblazoned across like all other recently revised RS models, flanked by new headlights (Matrix LED units for the European market). Inside the cabin the air-con vents and shift paddles have been reshaped, and the new MMI system ports over from the new A7 and S7 with 4G LTE connectivity and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.
