 I am selling my 2006 Audi A6 4.2 S-Line;

I have had this car for 2 years and have it immaculately maintained at Audi Jacksonville, FL until my recent move to NC.

This is the AWD Quattro Model with the 4.2L V8. I have done a few tasteful mods:

  • Edelbrock lowering springs (I have the stock springs to give with the car)
  • APR ECU tune (brings the car from 335 to 352 HP)
  • APR security lockout
  • APR Anti-Theft
  • APR Throttle body alignment and fault code erase system
  • 20" Ace Alloy Convex Gloss Black w/ Machined Accents
  • Continental Extreme Contact DWS (Dry, Wet & Snow) Ultra High Performance All-Season radial
  • Brembo brakes (rotors and pads)
  • removal of all rear badges
  • I have a new blacked out front grill I have not installed, but will give with the car.

The spare factory wheel and tire are still in the back. The tires also come with life4time balance and rotation from discount tire.

The factory options include almost everything available that year!

  • "Audi Key" Proximity key that allows key-less entry, push to start and key-less locking!
  • Navigation
  • 6 Disk in glove box changer
  • Sirius Satellite radio
  • All leather everywhere
  • distinctive front grille with S-line badge, aluminum door sills with S-line badges, S-line front and rear bumpers
  • bi-xenon adaptive headlights
  • “coming home and leaving home” lighting system
  • multifunction steering wheel
  • Home link garage door opener
  • sunroof
  • programmable daytime running lights
  • Multi Media Interface (MMI) control terminal

I am sure this car has more, it seems I find new stuff every time I drive it. I have owned the car for 2 years.

The Bad: The 20" rims have a few scuffs on them (don't let you girlfriend drive your car....), The transmission has started to hard shift in 3rd and 4th, it has been doing it about 3k miles. This is the primary reason I am getting rid of the car, as I simply want a new car, and don't want to put the time and $$ into any repair, no matter if its a sensor, or whatever! I am not sure why it is hard shifting, my local mechanic has found no fault codes and told me he would have to pull the tranny to see (I am not interested in taking it to that level), so I ma prepared to let her go at a very reasonable price, in the event you will have to make any repairs.

Next Audi Q7 to debut with electric turbocharger?

Sun, 22 Jun 2014

For years, the concept of an electric turbocharger was essentially a joke sold on eBay to boost power in your slammed Civic, but in the last five years it has moved from an idea on a piece of paper to a feasible reality. Audi has already toyed with a showcase of the cutting-edge tech in road cars with the RS5 TDI concept. Now, reports suggest an electric turbo may make it to the streets as soon as next year in the next-gen Q7 (spy shot pictured above).
"I can confirm we are working on the development of the e-boost definitely," said Ulrich Weiss, Audi's diesel engine boss, to Australia-based Drive. He didn't give an exact timeframe but hinted at sometime next year, possibly in the Q7. He also suggested the chance of an RS-branded diesel model in the vein of the RS5 TDI concept on the horizon, as well.
This tech isn't entirely new for the folks in Ingolstadt. Audi's R18 endurance racer already uses such a system to capture waste heat from the engine, converting it to electric power to further power the hybrid car. The RS5 TDI concept employs a similar idea with a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 with an electric supercharger to make up for the turbo lag. It's able to pump out 385 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque and allegedly sprint to 62 miles per hour in four seconds.

South Korea to file criminal charges against VW exec

Wed, Jan 20 2016

South Korea has tossed out Volkswagen's recall plans and is preparing to level criminal charges over its handling of the diesel emissions catastrophe, The Wall Street Journal reports. "Recall plans the company submitted to us earlier this month were insufficient and lacked key information, and thus are unacceptable," the South Korean Ministry of Environment said in a statement obtained by the WSJ. A ministry official hinted at the possibility of criminal charges earlier this month if VW's recall plan wasn't satisfactory, the Yonhap News Agency reports, and now it looks like it will actually follow through. According to the WSJ, South Korea has already ordered VW to recall 125,000 vehicles and slapped the automaker with a $12.3 million fine – one of the many countries to do so – but if it follows through with criminal charges against the company or its employees, it'd be among the earliest to so. Other countries, including the United States, are still exploring the possibility of criminal charges. Charges would likely come against both Audi Volkswagen Korea and its managing director, Johannes Thammer. It's not clear what the actual charge would be, but the WSJ claims Thammer could be facing up to five years in prison and a fine of 30 million won (around $24,700 at today's rates). For its part, VW officials in South Korea maintains that it is "doing its utmost to resolve the emissions issue" and that it plans to "offer further explanation" to authorities regarding its proposal for an emissions and fuel mileage fix in that country.

Xcar flogs the 2016 Audi RS3

Thu, Jun 18 2015

In its latest video, Xcar reckons that just as hypercars from brands like Pagani and Koenigsegg are taking supercars to a new level, the hyper hatch is now supplanting the hot hatch. Roughly defined as three- and five-door models making well in excess 300 horsepower, the reviewer holds up the new Audi RS3 as the poster child for this high-speed revolution that brings huge performance in a quite useful package. With 362 hp and 343 pound-feet of torque from its 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the RS3 certainly doesn't lack for performance. Audi claims that it can get to 62 miles per hour in 4.3 seconds and to a top speed of 174 miles per hour. Xcar portrays that power as quite livable, though. Apparently, this hyper hatch is made less for top performance at the track, than being sublime on the road. It seems that this hyper hatch isn't destined for these shores, though. Audi isn't bringing the five-door RS3 to the US, but a version in the body of the A3 sedan is highly rumored. If it's as wonderful as Xcar portrays the five-door, then this might be one to look forward to.
