Up for sale is a black 1987 Alfa Romeo Spider with 105000 miles!

Exterior: The color of the car is black and paint condition is 7 out of 10. The car has a few scratches but the body is clean and I do not see any major accidents in the car.

Interior: The car has a black interior (I am not sure if this is leather or vinyl) the passenger seat is good but the driver seat has some tears in the center piece as you can see in the picture.
The dash has some cracks as you see in the photos. The carpet is in good shape but it does need a little cleaning. The convertible top is in a very good condition (it was replaced two years ago).
All the glass, trim, and lights are in very good condition. In total the condition of the interior is 7 out of 10.

Mechanics: The car has a 4 cylinder fuel injection engine with a 5 speed manual transmission. The engine and transmission are in good condition. I drove around my warehouse for about 10 miles without problems. The car has an engine guard! The exhaust is good, there are no leaks anywhere. The suspension is also in good shape! In total the condition of the interior is 8 out of 10.

Electrical: From what I see, everything works well except the high beam light (It can be do to the bulb or the switch). All the gauges work except the odometer which the previous owner said has not been working for the past year. The car has been driven less then 2000 miles sense. The car also has a security system.
The rims and tires are in fair shape. I would give the tires 70%.

The problems: The A/C does not work ( when I hit the switch, the compressor runs. So I think it just needs Freon R-12). The door lock has some issues, it sometimes does not lock. The odometer is not working. The drover seat has some tears. One of the rims has a small curb rash (no bend).

I am not an Alfa Romeo expert, this was a car that I got out of a tried and I don't know a lot about this car. But I have a very reasonable reserve compared to other ones that I have seen like this. In total the car is not in a perfect condition but with some attention it can be.

I am more experienced in BMWs and Mercedes. I do not have much knowledge in Italian cars.

This car has low milage for this typical model. This car has always been taken care of.
This car is 26 years old and has been driven for around 5000 miles a year!!
I have a very reasonable reserve price!! If you like more pics please send me your email and ill send them to you! I would be happy to have anyone come and check out the car! The car is at my storage in manassas va! THE CAR IS ASIS!
Bid with confidence!! I am a 100% positive feedback Ebay member. You can check my seller feedback!
IF you have 0 or negative feedback please contact me before you place a bid, or I am going to cancel your bid!
If you are going to place a bid, please be sure of it!

Dodge Viper-based 2010 Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale Zagato rarity could be yours

Wed, Feb 12 2020

It has been a decade since it was launched, but the 2010 Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale Zagato is just as bizarre and beautiful as the day it was revealed. It's what you get when you have Italian design house Zagato give a Dodge Viper an Alfa Romeo body. And this one, number six of a total of nine examples, could be yours. It's going to be auctioned in Elkhart, Indiana, by RM Sotheby's along with several other rare vehicles. Now when we described this car as a Zagato take on an Alfa but using a Viper, that's exactly what it is. All the mechanical bits are from the 2010 Dodge Viper ACR, down to the 8.4-liter 600-horsepower V10 and six-speed manual transmission. The body does do an impressive job disguising this, from the signature Zagato double-bubble roof, to the unique, almost shooting brake-style rear roofline and Kamm tail. The Alfa grille in the nose also throws off the scent. But look closer, and Viper elements start showing up. On the outside, the push-down flush door handles remain. Inside, the gauges feature the same fonts and layout as in the Viper, the only change being the TZ3 logo sitting in the middle. Particularly glaring is the audio head unit, which was shared with every other Dodge product on the market since the early 2000s. But the leather appointments throughout do make it nicer. Also amusing is the fact that all the owner's manuals are simply Dodge examples, with no changes to the covers or names. One other bizarre thing, since this is a 2010 car, it was built at the very early start of Fiat and Chrysler joining up. As omens go, this was a pretty solid one. Regardless, it is an extremely striking car that's sure to be exhilarating to drive. And that's not something the previous owner experienced much, because the photos suggest it's only been driven about 200 miles. RM Sotheby's doesn't give an estimated sale price, but it should go for well into six figures, if not more. And it will sell, as it's being offered with no reserve. The auction starts May 1. Junkyard Gem: 1979 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce

Sat, Jan 22 2022

During the middle-to-late 1970s, things got pretty grim for American car shoppers wishing to drive a (non-exotic) new European two-seat convertible. British Leyland would sell you a 1979 MGB, Spitfire, or TR7 at a good price, but you got only 67.5, 52.5, or 88.5 horsepower, respectively, in those cars (yes, BL claimed the half-horse in official ratings, because that's how the Malaise Era was) plus the Prince of Darkness riding shotgun. Fiat offered the 124 Sport Spider for a bit more than those British machines in '79, but that car had a mere 86 horses under the hood. That's where the Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce came in; for a bit more money, you got 111 fuel-injected horsepower and a car that still looked futuristic more than a decade after its introduction. Alfa Spider prices have gone way up in the last decade, so I don't see many of these cars in the self-service car graveyards I frequent. That makes today's Junkyard Gem, found in a yard near Denver, a fairly rare find. Someone yanked the cylinder head off, probably years ago, and then never finished whatever engine work had been planned. This is a common sight with vintage sports cars in junkyards. The 1994 Colorado State Parks pass shows that at least this Alfa was running 28 years back. Inside, there are many receipts for extensive mechanical work done during the 1980s. These cars were better-built than their British Leyland and Fiat rivals, but that doesn't mean they were easy to work on. How about getting a head-gasket job plus a bunch of other work done for just over 500 bucks? Even with inflation, that's a deal! At some point, someone sliced up the factory radio faceplate to install this 1980s Blaupunkt cassette deck. This looks like a CR-2001, which was high-end factory equipment in Porsches and BMWs around the time this Spider was new. The interior has some parts that look nice enough to be worth buying, so let's hope that some Front Range Alfa Romeo enthusiasts show up and score some nice pieces for their project cars. The MSRP on this car was $11,195, or about $45,700 today. The Fiat 124 Sport Spider went for $7,090, while the TR7 convertible cost $9,235. Meanwhile, a new 1979 Chevy Corvette with the optional L82 engine listed at $11,425 and had 225 horsepower; it also weighed 917 pounds more than the Alfa and had much more ponderous handling.

Get lost in Evo's sublime 2013 Car of the Year testing

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

Every year Evo stages its Car of the Year test, bringing the best performance cars in the world to one location for an epic shootout. This year the magazine pitted eight CotY finalists against each other on Route Napoleon in Southern France - Evo claims it's the "best road in the world" - and then proceeded to nitpick the smallest of faults on each car until the winner could be named. You see, this year's lineup of machines was just so good that only one car obviously wasn't CotY material from the get-go. Can you guess which one judging from the list below?
- Aston Martin V12 Vantage S
- Audi R8 V10 Plus
