First year 'coda tronca' kamm tail 1971 Alfa Spider in infamous Alfa color.  Known history, VERY well taken care of its entire life, always garaged, the result is an amazing original car with EXCELLENT patina.  I acquired this car and set out to do a complete restoration as the originality is very much intact.  For example, literally ALL interior pieces are without flaws,  no rips in the rubber floor mats, or most any interior parts for that matter, panels, apron, ALL EXCELLENT, even original seat belts and lighter!...with the exception of the dash, cracked like so many.  I will include a perfect condition dash 'cap' to clean it right up.  I did have the seats redone beautifully in supple leather.  I know, meant to be vinyl, but take the deduction and go leather!  The pictures show the quality.

Last year I paid to have the car (covered truck) trucked to Santos Foreign in Northridge, CA and instructed a blank check mechanical rebuild to make this spider a dependable, safe, usable car.  Doesn't mean I daily drive it, but I could.  In fact I have only put on dry summer miles in and around Lake Tahoe on rare occasions...it drives superbly.  I will include a copy of the build sheet so you can see all the important and expensive work that was done.  (nearly $8k spent in the past year in improvements).  The NEW tranny shifts like butter, so sweet!

These '71 year spider's are the last and ONLY year the peppy high revving 1750 motor was still standard.  These cars are a 'cant miss' future collectible and are yet to see the real appreciation of their older round tail cousins, but it is about now that these cars make a prudent buyer happy!  I am offering two fantastic Alfa Spiders presently, also available, the LAST year of the gorgeous series 2 spider's, check my other items.

I am an avid collector/lover of Alfa Spiders, and these are my personal cars from my private collection, so see who you are buying from.  I spare no expense while cars are in my possession to make them the best they can be.  I hate to part with these, but am on to other car related activities, so pay serious attention to these offerings if you are seeking a fun vintage collectible Italian convertible!

Hit the buy it now, and I will throw in a set of period correct aftermarket wheels.  YOU CHOOSE the style.  I have set up photos of two uber rare period correct styles....Ruspa's or Oscam's (both Italian boutique wheel company's) and keep the ones on there of course too.. These can go for up to $1,500. a set, so good value added!

This spider is going to need a fresh paint down the road, but is an attractive rust free 'driver' at present.  Those fugly side protector strips look ungainly, but when cosmetic respray comes, DEFINITELY REMOVE THEM.  For now offering excellent protection.

The mileage is a baffler...some have speculated original miles.  I do know the previous 2 owners (representing nearly all of its life) barely drove it and wear and tear on the inside reflects the low miles from new?

Alfa Romeo cancels plans for Giulia wagon to focus on Stelvio development

Thu, Feb 9 2017

Automotive enthusiasts can talk all day long about the benefits of wagons over their respective crossover stablemates, but despite our protestations the case for the wagon seems to fall on deaf ears, especially in America. That seems to be the reason cash-strapped automaker Alfa Romeo has nixed any plans for a wagon variant of the new Giulia. According to Car, Alfa manufacturing chief Alfredo Altavilla believes the company can engineer the Stelvio SUV to drive as well as a Giulia wagon would – so no need for both. Porsche has shown with the Cayenne and the Macan that an SUV can be an excellent performance machine. That being said, as good as performance crossovers have shown themselves to be, the higher weight and center of gravity puts them at a fundamental disadvantage to a wagon. Killing the Giulia wagon is disappointing, but it's a pure business move. The company needs to focus on expanding it's lineup, not building variants of already existing models. Alfa is hoping to boost sales into the hundreds of thousands, and building a low-volume performance station wagon is not the way to do it. Despite the loss of the wagon, rumors persist that a two-door version of the Giulia is set to debut in Geneva. Related Video:

Alfa Romeo 6C could return in 2020

Mon, Jan 22 2018

Keep your salt shaker handy, because you might need a grain or two for this rumor, as scrumptious as it may be. According to German tuner Pogea Racing, Alfa Romeo is planning to revive the 6C nameplate, with a production launch in 2020. The company posted its inside info on its Facebook page, citing "an absolute trustworthy and legit source" who is "very deep into the decisions of the management of Alfa Romeo." According to the post, we can expect to see the Alfa Romeo 6C introduced at one of the major auto shows in 2018 or 2019. If true, the rumor is exciting, but not totally surprising. FCA is growing its investment in the Italian brand, along with its lineup. We've already learned of Alfa's plans for an SUV larger than the Stelvio, which could offer seven seats and a mild hybrid system. The addition to the lineup of what we could assume to be a coupe larger and more expensive than the Alfa Romeo 4C, and meanwhile bringing back a classic nameplate, doesn't seem farfetched. After all, we've heard similar rumors before, with the 6C reportedly planned as a competitor to the Jaguar F-Type. Under the hood, the Giulia Quadrifoglio's 2.9-liter twin-turbo aluminum V6 — good for 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque — seems like the perfect fit for the 6C. The 6C nameplate has roots in six-cylinder road and racing cars beginning in the 1920s. To see it revived after decades of hibernation would not only be interesting for fans and potential customers, it would be symbolic of the company's continued growth under the FCA umbrella. Alfa Romeo to go all-electric by 2027

Mon, Aug 9 2021

On an earnings report last week, Alfa Romeo parent company Stellantis tacked on some electrification plans for its 14 brands. One surprising piece of information: Alfa Romeo would be the first of them to go fully electric, and it'll happen by 2027. We've known that Alfa Romeo would eventually go electric, but it's a bit surprising to hear that Stellantis wants it to happen on such a short timeline, and that it would spearhead its EV push. Alfa Romeo has been one of the most protected brands in the Stellantis empire, and one of the most traditional as well. The often quirky but nevertheless beloved brand has long been a favorite among car enthusiasts. In fact, brand heritage is so important that back in 2014 the company opted to develop its own Spider rather than borrow a platform from the ND Miata (That car went to become the Fiat 124 instead). Stellantis didn't confirm what the first Alfa EV would be, but it could arrive in the form of a subcompact crossover about the size of a BMW X1. It could also share the platform with other Stellantis brands like Peugeot, Fiat and Jeep and is slated to debut in 2022 or 2023. In the meantime, Alfa Romeo is working on the Tonale plug-in hybrid electric, which was recently delayed. Reportedly, Stellantis head Jean-Philippe Imparato was not satisfied with the hybrid-electric system. The PHEV crossover will share a platform with an upcoming Jeep model as well. It should arrive in early 2022 if things stay on track from here. The express timeline also indicates that the new Stellantis STLA large-vehicle architecture will have to be ready before 2027. It's set to replace the sharp-handling rear-wheel-drive Giorgio platform that underpins the Giulia and Stelvio. And while it'll be shared across multiple Stellantis brands, Imparato has promised Alfa Romeo-badged cars will retain the qualities that have made the name so special. In the same report, Stellantis confirmed that Opel would go all-electric by 2028 and Fiat would follow by 2030.
