1993 Toyota Mr2 Base Coupe 2-door 2.2l on 2040-cars
Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States
1993 Toyota MR2
Interior in great shape, recently recovered leather seats. Original floor mats show little wear, new leather shift boot. T-tops include original sun shades. Carpet in great shape. Exterior in decent shape. No rust but paint is fair. No major dents, dings or scratches but not perfect. Tires have less than 5k miles on them, wheels are in good shape. I never had OEM wheels for the car. 2.2 liter naturally aspirated engine does smoke occasionally on start up after sitting for a couple weeks but does not if driven regularly. Valve cover gaskets seep oil, exhaust manifold gasket allows a "ticking" until the car warms. Engine runs great though. Clutch and throwout bearing have recently been replaced. Shifts fine. A/C compressor, etc replaced within the last year. Heat and a/c work fine. Keyless entry alarm installed, upgraded radio and speakers. Car has been driven occasionally over the last two years since I've owned it roughly 5,000 miles. I am selling to make room for newer toys. Please feel free to email any questions. Car is location in Tulsa and can be viewed at any mutually convenient time. |

"Residual value is important for automakers and consumers because it's a complete indicator of the vehicle's future value." - Larry Dominique
Toyota and Land Rover took home the top brand honors in ALG's 2015 Residual Value Awards, which will be presented this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Toyota responds to video of Highlander ramming house [w/video]
Thu, 18 Apr 2013There are, as they say, two sides to every story, so after we posted a video on Monday showing what an owner claimed to be a case of unintended acceleration causing her Toyota Highlander to crash into a house twice, Toyota reached out to us revealing some additional information about the incident.
Following this crash, which took place back in November, Toyota had this Highlander inspected and pulled data from its Event Data Recorder (EDR), or Black Box as we've come to call it. Not only was this the first time we've seen a claim of unintended acceleration like this caught on video, but now, also a first, we have actual data showing what the vehicle itself recorded during this frightening ordeal.
Brian Lyons, Toyota Communications Manager for Safety and Quality, first gave us some information about the Highlander in question, including the fact that it was a 2012 model. The 2012 Highlander came from the factory with a brake override system, meaning it was not part of the company's initiative in 2010 to add the system to all 2011 models. Also, after looking at the data from the EDR, he said - as many of you pointed out in the comments for the previous post - that the "brake pedal was never touched." In the video, you can see that the crossover's brake lights never come on, and the EDR's data backs this up.
2015 Toyota Sienna SE keeps the swagger, adds thoughtful updates [w/videos]
Thu, 17 Jul 2014Toyota found huge success with its "Swagger Wagon" rap video for the 2011 Sienna SE. It showed that a minivan could actually sort of maybe be fun and didn't have to be a lame vehicle for people who long ago lost their sense of humor. Now that there is a slight refresh for the 2015 model, the company is trying to capture that effervescent image again with a bunch of videos aimed at families.
For the latest launch, Toyota is partnering with some family-friendly online video stars and having them show off the Sienna's features. It's releasing YouTube videos from the creators of Action Movie Kid and Convos with My 2-Year-Old and a Vine from Eh Bee Family, and they all hope to show that it's cool to be a family with a minivan.
In terms of actual changes, though, the update is pretty light aesthetically, but the new tech inside seems aimed directly at mom and dad. However, unless you've got a sharp eye, spotting the exterior refresh might be tough. Toyota is tweaking the front end slightly by adding a dark mesh grille and trim. The headlights are also slightly reshaped to incorporate a new strip of available LED running lights.
