Reviews:

I recently bought a truck from Riata Ford. After 8 long hours of waiting I was told financing went through and all was well and good. Awesome! I sat down and filled out all the final paperwork with the manager sealing the deal. Two weeks later I get a call from "Tony" saying financing didn`t go throught after clearly signing for it with him sealing the CONTRACT. They 100% sold the truck to me with approved ... view morefinancing in tack and Breached the contract with me. Not okay. Further more the truck was sold to me as a 5.0L and days later I found out it`s a 3.7L which I now find out gets very bad reviews; Deceptive trade practice. Once going back to the Stealership I was spoken down to and felt a strong line of disrespect from 3 people. This has caused me a substantial amount of Mental distress. I would never in my life recomend Riata to anyone ever! This place has lost all my respect and I will continue to tell others of my expirence with Riata everytime I hear someone say they "want a new or used car."

Don`t bother - Sales and Service both unacceptable
A while back (the last time I brought a car in for service) I had several issues. I had brought in my 2008 Escape. It had left with the vehicle report card full of green checks, one of which was indicating my battery was in perfect health. Days later I get in my car, turn it on and have no AC or radio. I drove home 25 miles in 90+ degree weather with out AC. Then I go to work the next day. I try to leave and my car w... view moreon`t start. Turns out I have a dead battery. That was incredibly interesting considering days before it had been noted to be in perfect health. I bought a battery and installed it myself. At that time I had submitted a customer satisfaction survey regarding my experience, which was not a good one. I do give you some credit. My survey was followed up on. It happened to be a very bad time because it was right around when the Bastrop Fires were occurring. I had sworn never to use Riata again. My family places a lot of value on keeping business local and supporting the businesses in the area we live. My family pointed out that Riata had tried to make it right, though the timing had been poor for us. So when it came to needing an oil change in my F-350 Truck and at the same time being the in the market for a vehicle I did decide to give Riata a second chance. My experience has not improved. I dropped my truck off and asked for the parking break to be checked. I received a phone call saying they checked my break, but to find out what was wrong with it they`d need to send it to the back to take things apart. I asked how much that would cost. They told me $20-25. Okay. About 1.5-2hrs later I came back to test drive a Ford Focus Hatchback (which had been at the top of my personal list of cars I am interested in). We worked with Ted. He had little to share when talking about the car. When we came back, we had an uncomfortable wait in his cubicle. The numbers he threw out there for the Ford Focus Hatchback SEL were higher than the numbers my Dad had gotten from the Ford dealer in their hometown for a Titanium series. On top of that, Ted told us the sales tax is 8.25% - not true, State of Texas says it is 6.25%. It is important to trust the person you`re giving your money to. I can not say we felt that way at Riata today. (Back to the service department). I went back to the desk because it had been quite some time since we had dropped the truck off. I asked if there was any update on my truck, estimate of when it would be finished. The receptionist was very short and rude. We left to go check out cars elsewhere. About 5 minutes later I get a call from Riata about my truck (I would have waited there if they`d just told me when I was there). They said to fix the parking break we were looking about $900+. I decided to put that off to another time and just told them to go ahead and finish it out. My husband and I went to pick the truck up a while later. The receptionist did not lift her head to greet us or to say, ""Just one moment."" We waited for her to look up. The bill was higher than I expected it to be. I asked to see the charges. The receptionist gave me one page. It only had information about the oil change. I asked to see ""the rest of it."" Then she gave me the page that said $55 for my parking break. I told her that on the phone I had been told it would be $20-25. She pointed us towards a man in a blue shirt. I told him and he changed the price from $55 to $25. We paid and left. The feeling that leaves me with is that the service department tried to take advantage of me as a woman and over charge me. When I got home there was smoke and the smell of burning rubber coming from my back wheel wells. I can guarentee that before having Riata work on my truck, smoke was not coming out my wheel wells. My truck was running fine. I had driven it to work daily last week.

A Central Texas Treasure
This is an AMAZING place!!!!!! Tonight, after teaching at Texas A&M, I had a road accident on my way back to Austin resulting in a flat tire. Within 10 minutes after pulling into Riata Ford, I was on my way home. Thanks to Thomas, who, like a Formula 1 pit stop boss, quickly and effortless swapped my spare tire for the punctured one, I was able to finish my trek home. These are very special people at Riata, making th... view moree dealership a genuine treasure to Manor and Central Texas. Thanks so much!!!

Riata Ford A Horrible Place...run
After looking on line saw several austos I like here. Got there and should have run out. Were only too eager to help find a car at first...even did some good mark downs on a couple of used cars...when they realized I really liked a car above what I wanted to pay...they refused to budge on the price.....the whole time the salesman Darin and the whatever he is, Asher acted like I was a bother.....I should have left..... view more.but I really lked the car,,,,big mistake....said my credit score was very low.....a lie.....now I know it is high and all the lies about credit were bull......finally signed on car and said I needed the other set of keys....they said they were at the other dealership and would get and mail with tags.....well I decided I wanted keys so nxt day called them and NOW they say there never was second set,,,,,they never return calls and always sound like you are bothering them.. Have to pay over $ 100 for another dealership to make me a second set. Dont ever go to this terrible place....go anywhere else!

I purchased my new Ford truck ...
I purchased my new Ford truck from Riata Ford. They were straight forward, and did not pull all the games most dealers do. When I called they answered all my questions and when I arrived nothing had changed. I recommend this dealership and it is nice to have a dependable dealer that you can count on after the sale as well. I will defiantly buy here for next vehicle

Asher is the Man!
I was recently referred to Asher through a family friend for buying a new car. Car dealerships can be scary and intimidating, and I was hesitant, but Riata had a huge listing of used cars and I needed a good car so I contacted him. I`m a single mom, self employed with not so hot credit, so getting good financing was no easy task. Asher bent over backwards to get me the deal I needed. He drove me around to their d... view moreifferent lots in town to check out the cars I liked, and worked super hard without making me feel bad to get me approved. I spent a few hours at the dealership and agree that some of the other salesman and finance guys seemed arrogant and difficult, but I had nothing but the best experience working with Asher. Highly recommend!

Terrible service department!
I bought a brand new manual Focus in 2009. Last fall the stick shift started to jam and it was extremely hard to switch gears; I had to use two hands to do so, and even then it was still really difficult to shift. I took it in to Riata because it was under warranty, but they declined to give me a loaner vehicle even though it was part of my contract.. They stated that they first needed to determine if it was a warra... view morenty issue before they could give me a loaner vehicle. I had to call several times a day to get the status of the car, and they said they could not reproduce the issue, thus, there was nothing wrong with it. I told them to keep the vehicle there for a few days so they can see if they would be able to produce it. After a few days they told me there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with the car. And they acted like it was something I was doing wrong and that I did not know how to drive manual transmission. Coincidentally, I have never had a problem with the stick shift getting jammed after that visit. This week, a squeaking noise started to come out of the front passenger side of the vehicle. I first took it in to a trusted mechanic to determine what the issue was, and whether or not it was a warranty issue. He looked it over a determined what it was, and said it was a warranty issue due to a failed part. Today took it to Riata, and told the mechanic exactly what the other mechanic told me. I had to argue with them to get me a rental car. They later told me that, yes, they did hear the noise, but they could not isolate the sound, thus, there was nothing wrong with it!! I am in the process of making a complaint to the Ford corporation to get this issue resolved. I have been to other Ford service departments, and this place is by far the WORSE!!

My opinion - don`t shop there
August 2009, promised a car - left $500 deposit. A week later, they did not have a car for me.

October 2010, thought I`d give them a second chance. We found a car we thought we wanted to buy. They said they needed a $500 deposit to hold the car. The very same day we had to change our mind. Wife emailed the information and requested a credit to her card. Was told a couple of weeks later - ""Oh that`s not ... view morerefundable."" They said they would though. 2 more weeks and plenty of phone calls - ""Oh so-and-so didn`t follow through; Oh it`s not mine to do so-and-so has to; Oh they haven`t done it yet."" Tonight (5 weeks later) I`ve been told it`s been done - we`ll see.
Go elsewhere.

Jekyll & Hyde
Salesman played nice while I was checking out the car and test driving, but then a 180 degree turnaround when discussing price. Demanding, very challenging, intimidating--all the hated salesman`s tricks. Later emails said he could not go down any more on price cuz lower than "invoice," a bogus number anyway. Later, an internet salesman from sister dealership sold me the exact same car (same VIN) for $300 lo... view morewer. I had done my homework and knew the price I ought to pay. Riata lost the sale.
