I have been shopping at Riveredge Auto Parts since my father began taking me in the store when I was in my late teens. Now having teenagers myself I have taken them by the store many times to purchase auto parts or rent U-Haul trucks when we needed to move. I feel like part of the family with Farrell Brittain (owner). Unlike the previous reviewer- who obviously didnt know what was wrong with his vehicle and wants ... view moreto blame everyone but himself, I have always been treated great in this establishment. I guess the previous reviewer looks at this store as a library of auto parts. Have the store owner order what I ""think"" I need, try it out, and then return it when it doesn`t fix the problem. Anyway- I would not hesitate to send my wife or daughter into this store. Obviously Farrell has been doing something right to have been in business, in the same location, since 1979! Thank you for being the neighborhood parts store and always providing a great service!

bad visit
Visited store to purchase alternator. It was a bit expensive but the guy was so nice I decided to buy from him over another local cheaper chain auto parts store. I ordered the part. I picked it up and when I started working on the car I realized that was not the part that was broken. So I took it back to purchase the part that I needed from RIveredge and return the alternator. I put it on the counter in the orig... view moreinal box and said i needed to make a return. The same guy (owner) I purchased it from picked it up and threw it in the trash can. I said to him, that is the brand new alternator, I need to exchange it, just as I said, for a different part. He said oh no son, no returns. He got very angry with me and said I was tryign to rip him off and told me to leave his store. I got the alternator back, possibly damaged from the long throw, and left the store. I later tried to explain the situation to him again about how I needed a different part, he jsut yelled at me even more and told me he dosen`t like to sell to poeple like me. I talked to the police, they said I could file a report and they would go talk to him, but in the end one part wasen`t worth it to me. What I should have done was contact the CC company, but I didn`t think of that at the time and it is way too late now. The point is, this is a bad company, they tricked me to buy the part, over charged me, then were not easy to deal with when I came back. They did not care to hear anything I had to say, they knew they had my money, and that was all that mattered. To be quite honest, I`ve never had someone be this rude to me in a store before when trying to make a return. The bad thing is, I owned the alternator at the time he threw it, and he threw it enough distance and hard enough to damage the part, I can`t even re-sale the part now. This was a very bad experience, I can not stress enough how dishonest the owners and the employees of this store are. Please beware and please purchase your parts from another store.

Nice at first, sold alternator, when I tried to return he threw alternator
I visited store to check a price on an alternator, the guy was very nice. I left the store and then before leaving I decided, I don`t care that he charges a bit more, he is so nice I`m going to go back in. I bought it and then when I went to put it in I realized the bearings were out in the pulley under the alternator. I went to return the alternator only to find out there was no return policy. I made a mistake a... view morend didn`t read his no return sign. He proceeded to throw my alternator about 6 feet into an empty trash can. I had just told him it was the broken alternator, he replied they don`t return items and he thought it was the core. I picked the alternator up off the floor in the trash and left after he started yelling. I went back a couple of days later to tell him the alternator seemed defective now after he threw it so far on the ground. He laughed and got really mad and told me he wasn?t giving me my money back but that he would send it back to the company for a new one and he said he wouldn`t tell them he threw it. I told him I would tell them that he threw it and asked him where he ordered it. He would not tell me where he ordered it and he told me they wouldn`t believe me over him anyway. My point is it doesn?t matter that he has a no return policy, he threw my property and therefore he broke it and owes me my money. Please do not buy from Riveredge Auto Parts, his name was Ferrell Britton I think it was, or at least after I demanded to know his name three times that is what he finally told me. Please DO NOT BUY FROM RIVEREDGE AUTO PARTS. He even told me he didn`t sell to my kind and I needed to go to somewhere like advance auto parts.
