Reviews:

Not even one star for these rip off artists
These guys replaced my battery back in August. In December, my battery died again, so I took it back to them. They took a look and told me that the alternator had gone out and fried the battery. I should have taken it to a REAL mechanic at that point, but unsure what to do, I left it with them to replace the alternator and put in a new battery. They did, and that night, driving it on the freeway, it started makin... view moreg weird scraping noises. Then, later, the power steering totally failed. I called them up the next morning and told them about it, and they told me to bring the car in and they`d take a look. I did so, and when they checked it out, they told me that ""mysteriously,"" the power steering belt, which had been replaced earlier in the year, was totally split up the middle and torn to pieces. They claimed that their alternator repair had nothing to do with the power steering/AC belt, and that one part was completely separate from the other, on opposite sides of the engine, so there was no way they were at fault. It was just a coincidence, they said. They charged me $150 to replace the power steering belt. I paid it because I didn`t know any better, and didn`t know what else to do, all the while feeling like a sucker. When I picked it up and drove it away, it was making yet ANOTHER weird noise. I finally took it to another mechanic, who showed me where the alternator and power steering belt are (RIGHT NEXT TO ONE ANOTHER) and that there was NO WAY Merchants could have replaced the alternator without messing with the power steering belt. I called Merchants back to tell them this and they would not budge an inch. That`s $600 down the tubes for me. Never again. Like others said, DO NOT GO HERE!

DO. NOT. GO. HERE.
I used to go here regularly, but I will not anymore! I might trust them with a basic oil change, but I will not trust them with anything else. I had my clutch replaced and slightly over a year later it needed to be replaced again. Another mechanic said it wasn`t because of wear but rather a defective part was installed in the first place. I also once went in knowing exactly what was wrong with my car but did they... view more trust me? No, they charged me almost $100 to diagnose exactly what I told them the problem was! When I was there for an oil change, I overheard a lady who had come in because the brakes she had installed were not installed correctly. They seem content with providing shoddy service at exorbitent prices. They will not get another penny of my money!

RIP OFFS
These guys will steal the gold out of your teeth! Stay away from these ones!

DO NOT GO HERE
Do not go here. Do not go here. Do not go here. The mechanics are not capable of correctly diagnosing your vehicle. If they do any work, they will add not needed services and replace parts that do not need to be replaced. The necessary needed work will not be done, AND you will end up returning the vehicle for another round of over priced service. The workmanship here is terrible and the actual price you p... view moreay will be FAR more than you ever dreamed. Fine prices on tires - terrible experience on service.

Do Not Trust These People With Your Vehicle
Is there a rating less than 1 - if so, these guys deserve it. This location is a rip-off - fortuneately I did not use them. I called to get a price on a rear-brake job. They were reluctant to give me a price over the phone, asked me to bring the car in for the estimate, but eventually gave me a price over the phone of $119. I took the vehicle in anyway and at the end of the inspection, the quote was now up to... view more $540 - requiring not only brake pads for the rear, but also rotors for the rear (as supposedly, the brake pads were metal-to-metal), new pads for the front and also a brake flush. I took the vehicle to a more reputable mechanic and found that the rear pads needed replacement (already known before taking the vehicle in), the rear pads were NOT metal-to-metal and did not need replacing, the front pads still had six months of wear on them and the brake flush was done anyway for $5. The total cost was much, much, much less than Merchants quoted me. I cannot believe that Merchants operate this way - instead of doing the required work for a reasonable price, they make up invalid issues. They don`t appear to realize that they lose out in the end - no initial business, no repeat business - just read the other negative reviews. Never use them. There are even more details (of a negative nature) regarding this particular quote received (supposedly a special on brake pads), but I`ll leave it at this. Rubbish Customer Service!!

Avoid at all cost
Never again. I had 4 tires installed last month and they damaged my rims in the process. I went back to the shop and talked to the manager, Don, and he was rude and a liar. I called their hot line and their district manager, Ron McClung, after many calls finally returned my call, but he just gave me lip service. After that he never returned the calls or the many e-mails I sent afterwards. They also did an alignment a... view morend when I had a oil change done at the dealership 4 weeks later, as I will never step foot in a Merchant Tire place again, the technician at the dealership told me the car was out of alignment. Either Merchant Tires did not do the job or they did it badly. I have never seen a place with such bad customer service and shoddy workmanship.

Great hours, prompt tire service,
I have used Merchant`s for inspections and tire mounting for the past several years. They have always completed the work to my satisfaction, on time and at very reasonable cost.

Forget this Merchant
Disounted tire prices are offset by high labor costs. Don`t complain to manager - or else you will end up paying extra for the things that ""break"" during the ""service"". My 50% off tire deal ended up costing 50% more than other dealers with no sale gong on. So be warned - avoid this merchant - or it will cost you.

Avoid At All Costs
These guys not only gave me a false diagnostics but after confronting them about it and getting verbal assurance I would be refunded, the manager dodged me for 5 weeks until I gave up. Apparently $85 is more important to them than a satisfied customer. Do not take your car there.
